Electron. Commun since 2014, a guest editor for Special Issue â€œMetamaterial Circuits and Antennasâ€ of â€˜International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineeringâ€™ in 2018, an associate editor for Research, and IEEE Photonics Journal since 2021, served as an editorial board member of several China journals such as J. Infrared Millim. Wave, Journal of Electronics & Information Technology, Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (TNUAA), and Space Electronic Technology since 2021, and served as an invited reviewer for more than 20 leading journals including Light Science & Applications, etc. He has owned 30 China patents and has given more than 40 invited talks. He served as a special session chair 25 times and a TPC co-chair/member more than 20 times in international conferences. Dr. Yue’s current research interest is intelligent photonics, including optical communications, optical perception, and optical chip. He has published ~300 journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >12,000 citations, one book, six edited books, two book chapters, >60 issued or pending patents, >200 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial,>30 plenary and >70 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Fellow of SPIE, a Senior Member of IEEE and Optica. He is the Director of Research at the National Institute for Materials Advancement (NIMA). Dr. Gupta has been recently named by Stanford University as being among the top 2% of research scientists worldwide. Before joining Pittsburg State University, he worked as an Assistant Research Professor at Missouri State University, Springfield, MO then as a Senior Research Scientist at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC. Dr. Guptaâ€™s research spans a range of subjects critical to current and future societal needs including: semiconducting materials & devices, biopolymers, flame-retardant polymers, green energy production & storage using nanostructured materials & conducting polymers, electrocatalysts, optoelectronics & photovoltaics devices, organic-inorganic heterojunctions for sensors, nanomagnetism, biocompatible nanofibers for tissue regeneration, scaffold & antibacterial applications, and bio-degradable metallic implants. Dr. Gupta has mentored 10 PhD./Postdoc scholars, 76 MS students, and 58 undergraduate/high school students. Between 1990 and 1991 he was at the University of Essex, UK, performing experimental work on external cavity semiconductor lasers and nonlinear optical fiber amplifiers. His research interests have been concerned with the modelling and characterization of multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, polarization and nonlinear effects in optical fibers.
