<p>並外れた直感力を持つ新人FBI捜査官のリー・ハーカー（マイカ・モンロー）が担当に抜擢されたのは、重大な未解決事件。それは、<strong>ごく平凡な家族の父親が妻子を惨殺したのち、自ら命を絶つ</strong>というもので、過去30年間に10回も発生していた。いずれの現場にも侵入者の痕跡はなく、<strong>“ロングレッグス”という署名付きの暗号文</strong>が残されていた。</p> <p>映像の冒頭では、幸せそうな３人の家族写真が映し出され、事件を起こす寸前と思しき父親の、通報電話の録音が重ねられている。父親は何かに怯えているかのように<strong>「娘が……」「気づかれる」「娘がヘンだ」</strong>と口走っており、異常な様子。彼はなぜ事件を起こしたのだろうか。続いて、映像は別の家庭に移り、開かれたリビングのドアの先で父親が何者かに襲い掛かる瞬間を映している。事件を覗き見ているかのような視点がなんとも不気味だ。映像の最後は、ハーカーが過去の事件を調べる中で、唯一生き残った娘がいることを突き止め、犯行現場の床下を捜索するパートとなっている。そこには、事件解決へと導く重要な手掛かりとなるものが発見されるのだが……。</p>
