The Spirit is a vital presence in both the Old and New Testaments, playing a crucial role in creation, revelation, redemption, and sanctification.<br><br><b>Old Testament</b><br><br>In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God is often depicted as the breath or wind of God, signifying His power and presence. The Hebrew word "ruach" is used to describe the Spirit, indicating a dynamic and life-giving force. <a href="/genesis/1-2.htm">Genesis 1:2</a> states, "Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters."
