Stachurski saw what was happening, dove into the pool and rescued the unconscious boy.</p> <p>Stachurski also administered CPR until the 5-year-old child was able to breathe on his own again.</p> <p>In a statement to CNN, Stachurski said "I am just glad Usher's son is alive."</p> <p>Usher thanked Stachurski and Ben Crews for their <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130816162957/http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/08/08/usher-break-silence-and-thanks-men-who-saved-his-son" target="_blank">heroic efforts</a> in a statement on the singer's <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130816162957/http://www.usherworld.com/" target="_blank">website</a>. "They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them," the statement read in part.</p> <p><a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130816162957/http://www.hlntv.com/slideshow/2013/08/09/usher-tameka-timeline?hpt=hln10_6" target="_blank">Tameka Foster Raymond</a>, Usher's ex-wife, filed for an <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20130816162957/http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/08/07/ushers-ex-wife-seeks-custody-after-son-nearly-drowns" target="_blank">emergency custody hearing</a> after the incident, claiming that Raymond's aunt, who was at the pool, is not a capable caretaker.
