boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-1.htm">1</a>Now the lot for the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their families reached the border of Edom, southward to the wilderness of Zin at the extreme south.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-1.htm">1</a>This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-1.htm">1</a>Now the allotment for the tribe of the descendants of Judah by their clans was in the southernmost region, south to the Wilderness of Zin and over to the the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-2.htm">2</a>Their south border was from the lower end of the Salt Sea, from the bay that turns to the south.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-2.htm">2</a>And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-2.htm">2</a>Their southern border began at the tip of the Dead Sea on the south bay</td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-3.htm">3</a>crossed south of Scorpion Pass, continued on to Zin and went over to the south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it ran past Hezron up to Addar and curved around to Karka.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-3.htm">3</a>It goes out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, passes along to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh-barnea, along by Hezron, up to Addar, turns about to Karka,</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-3.htm">3</a>Then it proceeded southward to the ascent of Akrabbim and continued to Zin, then went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea and continued to Hezron, and went up to Addar and turned about to Karka.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-3.htm">3</a>And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-3.htm">3</a>and went south of the Ascent of Akrabbim, proceeded to Zin, ascended to the south of Kadesh-barnea, passed Hezron, ascended to Addar, and turned to Karka. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-4.htm">4</a>It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea. This is their southern boundary.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-4.htm">4</a>passes along to Azmon, goes out by the Brook of Egypt, and comes to its end at the sea. This shall be your south boundary.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-4.htm">4</a>It continued to Azmon and proceeded to the brook of Egypt, and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-4.htm">4</a>From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-4.htm">4</a>It proceeded to Azmon and to the Brook of Egypt and so the border ended at the Mediterranean Sea. The northern boundary started from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan,</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-5.htm">5</a>And the east boundary is the Salt Sea, to the mouth of the Jordan. And the boundary on the north side runs from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-5.htm">5</a>The east border was the Salt Sea, as far as the mouth of the Jordan. And the border of the north side was from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-5.htm">5</a>And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-5.htm">5</a>Now the eastern border was along the Dead Sea to the mouth of the Jordan. The border on the north side was from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-6.htm">6</a>went up to Beth Hoglah and continued north of Beth Arabah to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-6.htm">6</a>And the boundary goes up to Beth-hoglah and passes along north of Beth-arabah. And the boundary goes up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-6.htm">6</a>Then the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and continued on the north of Beth-arabah, and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-6.htm">6</a>And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-6.htm">6</a>It ascended to Beth-hoglah, proceeded north of Beth-arabah, and ascended to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-7.htm">7</a>The boundary then went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned north to Gilgal, which faces the Pass of Adummim south of the gorge. It continued along to the waters of En Shemesh and came out at En Rogel.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-7.htm">7</a>And the boundary goes up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, and so northward, turning toward Gilgal, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley. And the boundary passes along to the waters of En-shemesh and ends at En-rogel.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-7.htm">7</a>The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and turned northward toward Gilgal which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south of the valley; and the border continued to the waters of En-shemesh and it ended at En-rogel.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-7.htm">7</a>And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-7.htm">7</a>Then the border ascended to Debir from the Valley of Achor, turning north to the Gilgal that is opposite the Ascent of Adummim, which is south of the ravine. The border proceeded to the waters of En-shemesh and ended at En-rogel. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-8.htm">8</a>Then it ran up the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). From there it climbed to the top of the hill west of the Hinnom Valley at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-8.htm">8</a>Then the boundary goes up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite (that is, Jerusalem). And the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the Valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-8.htm">8</a>Then the border went up the valley of Ben-hinnom to the slope of the Jebusite on the south (that is, Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain which is before the valley of Hinnom to the west, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim toward the north.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-8.htm">8</a>And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-8.htm">8</a>From there the border ascended the Valley of Hinnom to the southern Jebusite slope (that is, Jerusalem) and ascended to the top of the hill that faces the Valley of Hinnom on the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-9.htm">9</a>From the hilltop the boundary headed toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, came out at the towns of Mount Ephron and went down toward Baalah (that is, Kiriath Jearim).</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-9.htm">9</a>Then the boundary extends from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and from there to the cities of Mount Ephron. Then the boundary bends around to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-9.htm">9</a>From the top of the mountain the border curved to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah and proceeded to the cities of Mount Ephron, then the border curved to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-9.htm">9</a>And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-9.htm">9</a>From the top of the hill the border curved to the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah, went to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then curved to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).</td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td class="version" width="20%"><a href="/niv/joshua/15.htm"><img src="/lnk.gif" border="0"></a>NIV</td><td class="version" width="20%"><a href="/esv/joshua/15.htm"><img src="/lnk.gif" border="0"></a>ESV</td><td class="version" width="20%"><a href="/nasb/joshua/15.htm"><img src="/lnk.gif" border="0"></a>NASB</td><td class="version" width="20%"><a href="/kjv/joshua/15.htm"><img src="/lnk.gif" border="0"></a>KJV</td><td class="version" width="20%"><a href="/hcsb/joshua/15.htm"><img src="/lnk.gif" border="0"></a>HCSB</td></tr></table><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-10.htm">10</a>Then it curved westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, ran along the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Kesalon), continued down to Beth Shemesh and crossed to Timnah.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-10.htm">10</a>And the boundary circles west of Baalah to Mount Seir, passes along to the northern shoulder of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), and goes down to Beth-shemesh and passes along by Timnah.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-10.htm">10</a>The border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and continued to the slope of Mount Jearim on the north (that is, Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh and continued through Timnah.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-10.htm">10</a>And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-10.htm">10</a>The border turned westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, went to the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), descended to Beth-shemesh, and proceeded to Timnah.</td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-11.htm">11</a>It went to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah and reached Jabneel. The boundary ended at the sea.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-11.htm">11</a>The boundary goes out to the shoulder of the hill north of Ekron, then the boundary bends around to Shikkeron and passes along to Mount Baalah and goes out to Jabneel. Then the boundary comes to an end at the sea.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-11.htm">11</a>The border proceeded to the side of Ekron northward. Then the border curved to Shikkeron and continued to Mount Baalah and proceeded to Jabneel, and the border ended at the sea.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-11.htm">11</a>And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.</td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-11.htm">11</a>Then the border reached to the slope north of Ekron, curved to Shikkeron, proceeded to Mount Baalah, went to Jabneel, and ended at the Mediterranean Sea. </td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-12.htm">12</a>The western boundary is the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-12.htm">12</a>And the west boundary was the Great Sea with its coastline. This is the boundary around the people of Judah according to their clans.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-12.htm">12</a>The west border was at the Great Sea, even its coastline. This is the border around the sons of Judah according to their families.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-12.htm">12</a>And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.</td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><a href="/joshua/15-12.htm">12</a>Now the western border was the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.
