and came even unto me: <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>into which looking, I was investigating, and I saw quadrupeds of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and the birds of the heaven. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>And I also heard a voice saying to me, <FR>Arising, Peter; slay and eat.<Fr> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And I said, By no means, Lord: because nothing unconsecrated or unclean has ever entered into my mouth. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And a voice a second time was heard from heaven, <FR>Whatsoever things God has cleansed, consider thou not unconsecrated.<Fr> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And this took place three times: and all things were again taken up into the heaven. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And, behold, immediately three men were standing at the house in which we were, having been sent to me from Cornelius. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And the Spirit said to me, to go with them, doubting nothing. And these six brethren went along with me, and we entered into the house of the man. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And he proclaimed to us how he saw an angel standing in his house, and saying, Send to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is called Peter; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>who will speak words to you, by which you and your whole family may be saved. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And when I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And I remembered the word of the Lord, as He said, <FR>John indeed baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.<Fr> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Since then God gave unto them the equal gift, as also unto us, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, to be able to resist God? <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>And hearing these things, they acquiesced, and glorified God, saying, Then God has also given unto the Gentiles repentance unto life.<p> <A name="20"></a><p class="hdg">The Church at Antioch<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Then indeed those having been dispersed abroad on account of the persecution prevailing over Stephen came through even to Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews only. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And of them there were certain Cyprian and Cyrenean men, who, having come into Antioch, were speaking to the Greeks also, preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number having believed, turned to the Lord. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And the word was heard in the ears of the church in Jerusalem concerning them: and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>Who, coming, and seeing the grace of God, rejoiced, and continued to exhort all, with purpose of heart to abide with the Lord: <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/acts/11-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>because he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and faith.
