to the city centre is the Singapore Botanic Gardens, spanning an area of 74 hectares. With a heritage of more than 150 years, the Gardens has been popular with both residents and overseas visitors.</p> <p>Adding to the verdant landscape are the many parks, park connectors, nature reserves, heritage roads and heritage trees found across Singapore which provide for a unique experience of the island’s natural beauty.</p> <p>The Park Connector Network is an island-wide network of linear open spaces around major residential areas, linking up parks and nature sites in Singapore, allowing everyone to enjoy the splendour of these green spaces.</p> <p>Mature trees are a natural heritage of Singapore and serve as important green landmarks for our island state. Designated heritage trees and heritage roads will give you a meaningful encounter with Singapore’s natural heritage and foster a greater appreciation of the nation’s biodiversity and history.</p> <p>Besides the greenery traditionally found on along our roads and in our parks and nature reserves, we now also have skyrise greenery - green roofs and vertical greenery that extend and almost look
