rough surface, a range of uncertainty or non-uniqueness of solution could be found, which is termed: Painlevé paradox. Painlevé paradox is the reason of a wide range of bouncing motion, observed during sliding of robotic manipulators on rough surfaces. In this research work, the existence of the paradox zone during the sliding motion of a two-link (P-R) robotic manipulator with a unilateral constraint is investigated. Parametric study is performed to investigate the effect of friction, link-length ratio, total height and link-mass ratio on the paradox zone. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamical%20system" title="dynamical system">dynamical system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=friction" title=" friction"> friction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multibody%20system" title=" multibody system"> multibody system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=painlev%C3%A9%20paradox" title=" painlevé paradox"> painlevé paradox</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robotic%20systems" title=" robotic systems"> robotic systems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sliding%20robots" title=" sliding robots"> sliding robots</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unilateral%20constraint" title=" unilateral constraint"> unilateral constraint</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37957/effect-of-robot-configuration-parameters-masses-and-friction-on-painleve-paradox-for-a-sliding-two-link-p-r-robot" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37957.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">454</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1864</span> Photocatalytic Degradation of Phenol by Fe-Doped Tio2 under Solar Simulated Light</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Gar%20Alalm">Mohamed Gar Alalm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shinichi%20Ookawara"> Shinichi Ookawara</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Tawfik"> Ahmed Tawfik </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the present work, photocatalytic oxidation of phenol by iron (Fe+2) doped titanium dioxide (TiO2) was studied. These coefficients also can be used in the automatic flight control systems and mathematical model of flight simulator. The study of the aerodynamic aspect of flying systems is a reserved domain and inaccessible for the developers. Doing tests in a wind tunnel to extract aerodynamic forces and moments requires a specific and expensive means. Besides, the glaring lack of published documentation in this field of study makes the aerodynamic coefficients determination complicated. This work is devoted to the identification of an aerodynamic model, by using an aircraft in virtual simulated environment. We deal with the identification of the system, we present an environment framework based on Software In the Loop (SIL) methodology and we use MicrosoftTM Flight Simulator (FS-2004) as the environment for plane simulation. We propose The Total Least Squares Estimation technique (TLSE) to identify the aerodynamic parameters, which are unknown, variable, classified and used in the expression of the piloting law. In this paper, we define each aerodynamic coefficient as the mean of its numerical values. All other variations are considered as modeling uncertainties that will be compensated by the robustness of the piloting control. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aircraft%20aerodynamic%20model" title="aircraft aerodynamic model">aircraft aerodynamic model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=total%20least%20squares%20estimation" title=" total least squares estimation"> total least squares estimation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=piloting%20the%20aircraft" title=" piloting the aircraft"> piloting the aircraft</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robust%20control" title=" robust control"> robust control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Microsoft%20Flight%20Simulator" title=" Microsoft Flight Simulator"> Microsoft Flight Simulator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MQ-1%20predator" title=" MQ-1 predator"> MQ-1 predator</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44416/application-of-the-total-least-squares-estimation-method-for-an-aircraft-aerodynamic-model-identification" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/44416.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">287</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1860</span> Long-Term Trends of Sea Level and Sea Surface Temperature in the Mediterranean Sea</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bayoumy%20Mohamed">Bayoumy Mohamed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Alam%20El-Din"> Khaled Alam El-Din </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the present study, 24 years of gridded sea level anomalies (SLA) from satellite altimetry and sea surface temperature (SST) from advanced very-high-resolution radiometer (AVHRR) daily data (1993-2016) are used. These data have been used to investigate the sea level rising and warming rates of SST, and their spatial distribution in the Mediterranean Sea. The results revealed that there is a significant sea level rise in the Mediterranean Sea of 2.86 ± 0.45 mm/year together with a significant warming of 0.037 ± 0.007 °C/year. The high spatial correlation between sea level and SST variations suggests that at least part of the sea level change reported during the period of study was due to heating of surface layers. This indicated that the steric effect had a significant influence on sea level change in the Mediterranean Sea. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=altimetry" title="altimetry">altimetry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AVHRR" title=" AVHRR"> AVHRR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mediterranean%20Sea" title=" Mediterranean Sea"> Mediterranean Sea</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sea%20level%20and%20SST%20changes" title=" sea level and SST changes"> sea level and SST changes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trend%20analysis" title=" trend analysis"> trend analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103295/long-term-trends-of-sea-level-and-sea-surface-temperature-in-the-mediterranean-sea" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103295.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">194</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1859</span> Adsorption of Phenol and 4-Hydroxybenzoic Acid onto Functional Materials </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mourad%20Makhlouf">Mourad Makhlouf</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Omar%20Bouchher"> Omar Bouchher</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Messabih%20Sidi%20Mohamed"> Messabih Sidi Mohamed</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benrachedi%20Khaled"> Benrachedi Khaled</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The objective of this study was to investigate the removal of two organic pollutants; 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (p-hydroxybenzoic acid) and phenol from synthetic wastewater by the adsorption on mesoporous materials. The results of phenol and 4AHB adsorption in aqueous solution show that the adsorption capacity tends to increase after grafting in relation to the increase in hydrophobicity. The materials are distinguished by a higher adsorption capacity to the other NG materials. The difference in the phenol is 14.43% (MCM-41), 14.55% (FSM-16), and 16.72% (MCM-41), 13.57% (FSM-16) in the 4AHB. However, many experimental efforts have not resulted in reproducible p-type material with N2 and N2O doping. by means of first-principle pseudo-potential calculation we find that the use of NO or NO2 with O gas might help the experimental research to resolve the challenge of achieving p-type ZnO. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DFF" title="DFF">DFF</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nitrogen" title=" nitrogen"> nitrogen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=p-type" title=" p-type"> p-type</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ZnO" title=" ZnO"> ZnO</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/46018/first-principles-density-functional-study-of-nitrogen-doped-p-type-zno" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/46018.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">463</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1857</span> Behavior of a Vertical Pile under the Effect of an Inclined Load</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fathi%20Mohamed%20Abdrabbo">Fathi Mohamed Abdrabbo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Elsayed%20Gaaver"> Khaled Elsayed Gaaver</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Musab%20Musa%20Eldooma"> Musab Musa Eldooma</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents an attempt made to investigate the behavior of a single vertical steel hollow pile embedded in sand subjected to compressive inclined load at various inclination angles α through FEM package MIDAS GTS/NX 2019. More than 120 landing sites have been visited in order to investigate their status and fishing activities. The study found that more than 91% of the landing sites were permanent and around 8% were seasonal. The type of landing sites were mostly harbors (42.86%), 31.75% protected bays and 25.4% are open beach. However, seven types of fishing boats were observed; flouka type was the largest percentage (70.06%), then 18.14% for mator, 3.28% for lampara, 0.41% for Tarrad, Gayag (0.16%), 5.97 for Daghesa, and 1.98% for batah. Moreover, the majority of them were concentrated in the western region of the country. The most common used fishing gearsare the trammel nets about 80%, which are used by flouka, mator, Tarrad, and batah. The using of trammel nets rely on the fishing season, fishes size and the target fish species. The other fishing gears are also used but occasionally. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fishery" title="fishery">fishery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=South%20Mediterranean" title=" South Mediterranean"> South Mediterranean</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=landing%20sites" title=" landing sites"> landing sites</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=marine%20biology" title=" marine biology"> marine biology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2740/status-of-artisanal-fishery-in-libya" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2740.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">517</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1855</span> Anxiety and Change in Eating Habits and Health Behaviors among Adult Women during COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown in Alexandria, Egypt</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Heba%20Ahmed%20Abdelaziz">Heba Ahmed Abdelaziz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Doaa%20Tawfik%20Mohamed%20Ibrahim"> Doaa Tawfik Mohamed Ibrahim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: COVID-19 pandemic is the major health problem facing the world recently, causing variable effects on mental health and eating behavior. The porous medium is isotropic, homogeneous optionally, with the rectangular format and the flow is two-dimensional. Modeling of hydrodynamic phenomena incorporates Darcy&#39;s law and the equation of mass conservation. Correlations are used to model the density and viscosity of the fluid. A finite volume code is used in the discretization of differential equations. The nonlinearity is treated by Newton&#39;s method with relaxation coefficient. Hibiscus sabdariffa usually has been used for many traditional medicine applications. To develop an additional use for Hibiscus sabdariffa, an extraction of bioactive compounds from Hibiscus sabdariffa followed by finishing on cellulosic fibers was designed to cleaner production of the value-added textiles fibers with multifunctional applications. The objective of this study is to explore, identify, and evaluate the bioactive compound extracted from Hibiscus sabdariffa by different solvent via ultrasonic technique as a potential eco-friendly agent for multifunctional cellulosic fabrics via two approaches. In the first approach, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract was used as a source of sustainable eco-friendly for simultaneous coloration and multi-finishing of cotton fabrics via in situ incorporations of nanoparticles (silver and metal oxide). In the second approach, the micro-capsulation of Hibiscus sabdariffa extracts was followed by coating onto cotton gauze to introduce multifunctional healthcare applications. The effect of the solvent type was accelerated by ultrasonic on the phytochemical, antioxidant, and volatile compounds of Hibiscus sabdariffa. The surface morphology and elemental content of the treated fabrics were explored using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The multifunctional properties of treated fabrics, including coloration, sensor properties and protective properties against pathogenic microorganisms and UV radiation as well as wound healing property were evaluated. The results showed that the water, as well as ethanol/water, was selected as a solvent for the extraction of natural compounds from Hibiscus Sabdariffa with high in extract yield, total phenolic contents, flavonoid contents, and antioxidant activity. These natural compounds were utilized to enhance cellulosic fibers functionalization by imparting faint/dark red color, antimicrobial against different organisms, and antioxidants as well as UV protection properties. The encapsulation of Hibiscus Sabdariffa extracts, as well as wound healing, is under consideration and evaluation. As a result, the current study presents a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to design cellulosic fabrics for multifunctional medical and healthcare applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cellulosic%20fibers" title="cellulosic fibers">cellulosic fibers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hibiscus%20sabdariffa%20extract" title=" Hibiscus sabdariffa extract"> Hibiscus sabdariffa extract</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multifunctional%20application" title=" multifunctional application"> multifunctional application</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanoparticles" title=" nanoparticles"> nanoparticles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/115335/hibiscus-sabdariffa-extracts-a-sustainable-and-eco-friendly-resource-for-multifunctional-cellulosic-fibers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/115335.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">146</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1851</span> Prevalence and Correlates of Anemia in Adolescents in Riyadh City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aljohara%20M.%20Alquaiz">Aljohara M. As human brains are vulnerable during this period, various chemicals would have their maximum effects on brains during early childhood. Some toxicants have been confirmed to induce developmental toxic effects on CNS e.g. lead, however; most of the agents cannot be identified with certainty due the defective nature of predictive toxicology models used. A novel alternative method that can overcome most of the limitations of conventional techniques is the use of 3D neurospheres system. This in-vitro system can recapitulate most of the changes during the period of brain development making it an ideal model for predicting neurotoxic effects. In the present study, we verified the possible DNT of epoxomicin which is a naturally occurring selective proteasome inhibitor with anti-inflammatory activity. Rat neural progenitor cells were isolated from rat embryos (E14) extracted from placental tissue. The cortices were aseptically dissected out from the brains of the fetuses and the tissues were triturated by repeated passage through a fire-polished constricted Pasteur pipette. The dispersed tissues were allowed to settle for 3 min. The supernatant was, then, transferred to a fresh tube and centrifuged at 1,000 g for 5 min. The pellet was placed in Hank’s balanced salt solution cultured as free-floating neurospheres in proliferation medium. Two doses of epoxomicin (1µM and 10µM) were used in cultured neuropsheres for a period of 14 days. For proliferation analysis, spheres were cultured in proliferation medium. After 0, 4, 5, 11, and 14 days, sphere size was determined by software analyses. The diameter of each neurosphere was measured and exported to excel file further to statistical analysis. For viability analysis, trypsin-EDTA solution were added to neurospheres for 3 min to dissociate them into single cells suspension, then viability evaluated by the Trypan Blue exclusion test. Epoxomicin was found to affect proliferation and viability of neuropsheres, these effects were positively correlated to doses and progress of time. This study confirms the DNT effects of epoxomicin on 3D neurospheres model. The effects on proliferation suggest possible gross morphologic changes while the decrease in viability propose possible focal lesion on exposure to epoxomicin during early childhood. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neural%20progentor%20cells" title="neural progentor cells">neural progentor cells</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=epoxomicin" title=" epoxomicin"> epoxomicin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neurosphere" title=" neurosphere"> neurosphere</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=medical%20and%20health%20sciences" title=" medical and health sciences"> medical and health sciences</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15247/epoxomicin-affects-proliferating-neural-progenitor-cells-of-rat" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15247.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">426</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1849</span> A Study of Interleukin-1β Genetic Polymorphisms in Gastric Carcinoma and Colorectal Carcinoma in Egyptian Patients</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mariam%20Khaled">Mariam Khaled</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noha%20Farag"> Noha Farag</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghada%20Mohamed%20Abdel%20Salam"> Ghada Mohamed Abdel Salam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Abu-Aisha"> Khaled Abu-Aisha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20El-Azizi"> Mohamed El-Azizi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Gastric and colorectal cancers are among the most frequent causes of cancer-associated mortalities in Africa. They have been considered as a global public health concern, as nearly one million new cases are reported per year. IL-1β is a pro-inflammatory cytokine-produced by activated macrophages and monocytes- and a member of the IL-1 family. The inactive IL-1β precursor is cleaved and activated by caspase-1 enzyme, which itself is activated by the assembly of intracellular structures defined as NLRP3 (Nod Like receptor P3) inflammasomes. Activated IL-1β stimulates the Interleukin-1 receptor type-1 (IL-1R1), which is responsible for the initiation of a signal transduction pathway leading to cell proliferation. It has been proven that the IL-1β gene is a highly polymorphic gene in which single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) may affect its expression. It has been previously reported that SNPs including base transitions between C and T at positions, -511 (C-T; dbSNP: rs16944) and -31 (C-T; dbSNP: rs1143627), from the transcriptional start site, contribute to the pathogenesis of gastric and colorectal cancers by affecting IL-1β levels. Altered production of IL-1β due to such polymorphisms is suspected to stimulate an amplified inflammatory response and promote Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition leading to malignancy. Allele frequency distribution of the IL-1β-31 and -511 SNPs, in different populations, and their correlation to the incidence of gastric and colorectal cancers, has been intriguing to researchers worldwide. The current study aims to investigate allele distributions of the IL-1β SNPs among gastric and colorectal cancers Egyptian patients. In order to achieve to that, 89 Biopsy and surgical specimens from the antrum and corpus mucosa of chronic gastritis subjects and gastric and colorectal carcinoma patients was collected for DNA extraction followed by restriction fragment length polymorphism polymerase chain reaction (RFLP-PCR). The amplified PCR products of IL-1β-31C > T and IL-1β-511T > C were digested by incubation with the restriction endonuclease enzymes ALu1 and Ava1. Statistical analysis was carried out to determine the allele frequency distribution in the three studied groups. Also, the effect of the IL-1β -31 and -511 SNPs on nuclear factor binding was analyzed using Fluorescence Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA), preceded by nuclear factor extraction from gastric and colorectal tissue samples and LPS stimulated monocytes. The results of this study showed that a significantly higher percentage of Egyptian gastric cancer patients have a homozygous CC genotype at the IL-1β-31 position and a heterozygous TC genotype at the IL-1β-511 position. Moreover, a significantly higher percentage of the colorectal cancer patients have a homozygous CC genotype at the IL-1β-31 and -511 positions as compared to the control group. In addition, the EMSA results showed that IL-1β-31C/T and IL-1β-511T/C SNPs do not affect nuclear factor binding. Results of this study suggest that the IL-1β-31 C/T and IL-1β-511 T/C may be correlated to the incidence of gastric cancer in Egyptian patients; however, similar findings couldn’t be proven in the colorectal cancer patients group for the IL-1β-511 T/C SNP. This is the first study to investigate IL-1β -31 and -511 SNPs in the Egyptian population. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=colorectal%20cancer" title="colorectal cancer">colorectal cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Egyptian%20patients" title=" Egyptian patients"> Egyptian patients</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gastric%20cancer" title=" gastric cancer"> gastric cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interleukin-1%CE%B2" title=" interleukin-1β"> interleukin-1β</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20nucleotide%20polymorphisms" title=" single nucleotide polymorphisms"> single nucleotide polymorphisms</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/117439/a-study-of-interleukin-1v-genetic-polymorphisms-in-gastric-carcinoma-and-colorectal-carcinoma-in-egyptian-patients" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/117439.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">141</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1848</span> Imputation of Incomplete Large-Scale Monitoring Count Data via Penalized Estimation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20%20Dakki">Mohamed Dakki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Genevieve%20Robin"> Genevieve Robin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marie%20Suet"> Marie Suet</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdeljebbar%20Qninba"> Abdeljebbar Qninba</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20A.%20El%20Agbani"> Mohamed A. These large-scale datasets challenge existing statistical analysis methods, many of which are not adapted to their size, incompleteness and heterogeneity. The development of scalable methods to impute missing data in incomplete large-scale monitoring datasets is crucial to balance sampling in time or space and thus better inform conservation policies. We developed a new method based on penalized Poisson models to impute and analyse incomplete monitoring data in a large-scale framework. The method al- lows parameterization of (a) space and time factors, (b) the main effects of predic- tor covariates, as well as (c) space–time interactions. It also benefits from robust statistical and computational capability in large-scale settings. The method was tested extensively on both simulated and real-life waterbird data, with the findings revealing that it outperforms six existing methods in terms of missing data imputation errors. Applying the method to 16 waterbird species, we estimated their long-term trends for the first time at the entire North African scale, a region where monitoring data suffer from many gaps in space and time series. This new approach opens promising perspectives to increase the accuracy of species-abundance trend estimations. We made it freely available in the r package ‘lori’ (https://CRAN.R-project.org/package=lori) and recommend its use for large- scale count data, particularly in citizen science monitoring programmes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biodiversity%20monitoring" title="biodiversity monitoring">biodiversity monitoring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high-dimensional%20statistics" title=" high-dimensional statistics"> high-dimensional statistics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=incomplete%20count%20data" title=" incomplete count data"> incomplete count data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=missing%20data%20imputation" title=" missing data imputation"> missing data imputation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=waterbird%20trends%20in%20North-Africa" title=" waterbird trends in North-Africa"> waterbird trends in North-Africa</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137277/imputation-of-incomplete-large-scale-monitoring-count-data-via-penalized-estimation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137277.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">156</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1847</span> A Cross-Sectional Study on Board Certified Pharmacists in Arab Countries 2018 Update</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Anwar%20Hammad">Mohamed Anwar Hammad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Mohamed%20Al%20Akhali"> Khaled Mohamed Al Akhali</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yasmin%20Elsobky"> Yasmin Elsobky</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Board certification is a voluntary process that confirms a pharmacist&#39;s capability, competency, education, skills, and proficiency beyond what is essential for licensure. This analysis was intended to investigate the prevalence of board-certified pharmacists in the Arab countries and compare the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. A cross-sectional study was conducted. The data were mined from the BPS website. Data were managed by IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and presented as descriptive statistics. Of 36918 Board certified pharmacists (BCPs) until February 2018, only 4038 (10.9%) were from the outside United States of America. From 4038 BCPs, about 1782 (44.1%) were from Arab nations. Egypt has the top prevalence of the BPS among the Arab countries 937 (52.6%) BCPs. However, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes in the second position 442 (24.8%). Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), nutrition support pharmacy (BCNSP), critical care pharmacy (BCCCP) and oncology pharmacy (BCOP) are the highest specialties by 1474 (82.7%), 114 (6.4%), 61 (3.42%) and 60 (3.37%) respectively, while, infectious diseases pharmacy (AQID), cardiology pharmacy (AQCD) and nuclear pharmacy (BCNP) are the lowest prevalence of specialties by 7 (0.4%), 6 (0.3%) and 1 (0.06%) respectively. Added qualifications were canceled and became a new specialty in BPS as the rest of the specialties. Both infectious diseases and cardiology specialties exams are not conducted yet all over the world from the beginning of 2018. Egypt has the second prevalence 937 (2.54%), before Canada 920 (2.49%) and after United States of America 32880 (89.06%) in the worldwide in terms of BCPs. In conclusion the BCPS is the uppermost specialty; however, there is still a need for all the other specialties. In a short period, BCCCP jumped to the third position. Cardiology and infectious disease will be new specialties. Egyptian pharmacists are in the top of Arab countries, and 2nd in worldwide BCPs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AQCD" title="AQCD">AQCD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AQID" title=" AQID"> AQID</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arab%20countries" title=" Arab countries"> Arab countries</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCACP" title=" BCACP"> BCACP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCCCP" title=" BCCCP"> BCCCP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCGP" title=" BCGP"> BCGP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCNP" title=" BCNP"> BCNP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCNSP" title=" BCNSP"> BCNSP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCOP" title=" BCOP"> BCOP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCPPS" title=" BCPPS"> BCPPS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCPS" title=" BCPS"> BCPS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BCPP" title=" BCPP"> BCPP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Board%20of%20Pharmacy%20Specialties%20%28BPS%29" title=" Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)"> Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Canada" title=" Canada"> Canada</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Egypt" title=" Egypt"> Egypt</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saudi%20Arabia" title=" Saudi Arabia"> Saudi Arabia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=USA" title=" USA"> USA</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90127/a-cross-sectional-study-on-board-certified-pharmacists-in-arab-countries-2018-update" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90127.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">212</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1846</span> A Comprehensive Study on Cast NiTi and Ti64 Alloys for Biomedical Applications</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Mohamed%20Ibrahim">Khaled Mohamed Ibrahim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A comprehensive study on two biomaterials of NiTi and Ti-6Al-4V (Ti64) was done. The persistence of plastic wastes in the environment formed a serious problem. They are prominent with their capability to resist microbial degradation for decades. Thus, it was crucial to find ways to eliminate the plastics without depending on conventional recycling methods, which causes the formation of more hazardous compounds and doubles the problem. In this paper, mealworms were fed with a mixture of plastic wastes such as plastic bags, Styrofoam, PE foam, and plastic tarpaulins film as the sole food source for a month. Frass was collected at the end of the test and examined using FTIR analysis. Also, the gut bacteria were isolated and identified using 16S rRNA. The results show the mineralization of plastic in the frass of plastic-fed worms when compared to control. The 16S rRNA and the BLAST analysis showed that the obtained isolate belongs to the genus Bacillus Sp especially Bacillus subtilis. The transition ions m/z 109 → 92, m/z 151 → 92, m/z 193 → 92, and m/z 136 → 77 were selected for the quantification of PPD, MAPPD, DAPPD, and IS, respectively. Results: Calibration curves were linear in the range 10–2000 ng/mL for all analytes. The mean recoveries for PPD, MAPPD and DAPPD were 57.62, 74.19 and 50.99%, respectively. Intra-assay and inter-assay imprecisions were within 1.58–9.52% and 5.43–9.45% respectively for PPD, MAPPD and DAPPD. Inter-assay accuracies were within -7.43 and 7.36 for all compounds. PPD, MAPPD and DAPPD were stable in urine at –20 degrees for 24 hours. Conclusions: The method was successfully applied to the analysis of PPD, MAPPD and DAPPD in urine samples collected from suicidal cases. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=p-Phenylenediamine" title="p-Phenylenediamine">p-Phenylenediamine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metabolites" title=" metabolites"> metabolites</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urine" title=" urine"> urine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=LC-MS%2FMS" title=" LC-MS/MS"> LC-MS/MS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=validation" title=" validation"> validation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19962/simultaneous-determination-of-p-phenylenediamine-n-acetyl-p-phenylenediamine-and-nn-diacetyl-p-phenylenediamine-in-human-urine-by-lc-msms" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19962.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">355</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1842</span> Sudan’s Approach to Knowledge Management in Disaster Management</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Abdalla%20Elamein%20Boshara">Mohamed Abdalla Elamein Boshara</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20Charles%20Woods"> Peter Charles Woods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nour%20Eldin%20Mohamed%20Elshaiekh"> Nour Eldin Mohamed Elshaiekh </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Knowledge Management has become very important for Disaster Management response and planning. Agricultural wastes can be a valuable resource for improving food security. Unfortunately, agricultural wastes are likely to cause pollution to the environment or even harm to human health. This calls for increased public awareness on the benefits and potential hazards of agricultural wastes, especially in developing countries. Agricultural wastes (residual stalks, straw, leaves, roots, husks, shells etcetera) and animal waste (manures) are widely available, renewable and virtually free, hence they can be an important resource. They can be converted into heat, steam, charcoal, methanol, ethanol, bio diesel as well as raw materials (animal feed, composting, energy and biogas construction etcetera). agricultural wastes are likely to cause pollution to the environment or even harm to human health, if it is not used in a sustainable manner. Organic wastes could be considered an important source of biofertilizer for enhancing food security in the small holder farming communities that would not afford use of expensive inorganic fertilizers. Moreover, these organic wastes contain high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic matter important for improving nutrient status of soils in urban agriculture. Organic compost leading to improved crop yields and its nutritional values as compared with inorganic fertilization. This paper briefly reviews how agricultural wastes can be used to enhance food security and conserve the environment. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=agricultural%20waste" title="agricultural waste">agricultural waste</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=organic%20compost" title=" organic compost"> organic compost</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environment" title=" environment"> environment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=valuable%20resources" title=" valuable resources"> valuable resources</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22402/sustainable-use-of-agricultural-waste-to-enhance-food-security-and-conserve-the-environment" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22402.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">520</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1840</span> Modeling Sustainable Truck Rental Operations Using Closed-Loop Supply Chain Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20S.%20Abdallah">Khaled S. Proper sorting, recycling and disposing the packaging materials is necessary to avoid a sever pollution disaster. This research paper presents a conceptual model to propose sustainable truck rental operations instead of the regular one. An optimization model was developed to select the locations of truck rental centers, collection sites, maintenance and repair sites, and identify the rental fees to be charged for all routes that maximize the total closed supply chain profits. Fixed costs of vehicle purchasing, costs of constructing collection centers and repair centers, as well as the fixed costs paid to use disposal and recycling centers are considered. Operating costs include the truck maintenance, repair costs as well as the cost of recycling and disposing the packing materials, and the costs of relocating the truck are presented in the model. Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) is gaining stream which can be used to extend cloud computing functions, services and results to the world of future mobile applications and enables delivery of a large variety of cloud application to billions of smartphones and wearable devices. This paper describes reliability for MCC by determining the ability of a system or component to function correctly under stated conditions for a specified period of time to be able to deal with the estimation and management of high levels of lifetime engineering uncertainty and risks of failure. The assessment procedures consists of determine Mean Time between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), and availability percentages for main components in both cloud computing and MCC structures applied on single node OpenStack installation to analyze its performance with different settings governing the behavior of participants. It occupies a particular position in the North African chains: firstly, it is the eastern limit of atlassicstructures; secondly, it is the edges between the belts structures to the north and the stable Saharan platform in the south. The evolution of deformation studyis based on several methods such as classical or numerical methods. The principals parameters controlling the genesis of folds in the southern central Tunisian Atlas are; the reactivation of pre-existing faults during later compressive phase, the evolution of decollement level, and the relation between thin and thick-skinned. One of the more principal characters of the southern-central Tunisian Atlas is the variation of belts structures directions determined by: NE-SW direction named the attlassic direction in Tunisia, the NW-SE direction carried along the Gafsa fault (the oriental limit of southern atlassic accident), and the E-W direction defined in the southern Tunisian Atlas. This variation of direction is the result of an important variation of deformation during different tectonics phases. A classical modeling of the Jebel ElKebar anticline, based on faults throw of the pre-existing faults and its reactivation during compressive phases, shows the importance of extensional deformation, particular during Aptian-Albian period, comparing with that of later compression (Alpine phases). A numerical modeling, based on the software Rampe E.M. 1.5.0, applied on the anticline of Jebel Orbata confirms the interpretation of “fault related fold” with decollement level within the Triassic successions. The other important parameter of evolution of deformation is the vertical migration of decollement level; indeed, more than the decollement level is in the recent series, most that the deformation is accentuated. The evolution of deformation is marked the development of duplex structure in Jebel AtTaghli (eastern limit of Jebel Orbata). Consequently, the evolution of deformation is proportional to the depth of the decollement level, the most important deformation is in the higher successions; thus is associated to the thin-skinned deformation; the decollement level permit the passive transfer of deformation in the cover. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=evolution%20of%20deformation" title="evolution of deformation">evolution of deformation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pre-existing%20faults" title=" pre-existing faults"> pre-existing faults</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decollement%20level" title=" decollement level"> decollement level</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thin-skinned" title=" thin-skinned"> thin-skinned</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145323/the-evolution-of-deformation-in-the-southern-central-tunisian-atlas-parameters-and-modelling" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145323.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">132</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1837</span> Evolution of Deformation in the Southern Central Tunisian Atlas: Parameters and Modelling</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Sadok%20Bensalem">Mohamed Sadok Bensalem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soulef%20Amamria"> Soulef Amamria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Lazzez"> Khaled Lazzez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Ghanmi"> Mohamed Ghanmi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The southern-central Tunisian Atlas presents a typical example of an external zone.
