چند دنوں سے ڈھاکا اور بنگلہ دیش کے دیگر علاقوں کو فسادات نے اپنی لپیٹ میں لیا ہوا ہے۔ حکومت مخالف مظاہرے کئی ہفتوں سے زور پکڑ رہے تھے لیکن انہوں نے اس وقت سنگین رخ اختیار کیا کہ جب سیکیورٹی فورسز اور حکومت کے حامیوں کے ساتھ تصادم میں متعدد مظاہرین کی ہلاکتیں ہوئیں۔</p> <p>تعلیمی اداروں کی بندش، کئی میڈیا ہاؤسز آف ایئر اور ملک بھر میں انٹرنیٹ سروسز معطل ہونے کی اطلاعات موصول ہورہی ہیں۔ ان پُرتشدد مظاہروں میں اب تک 105 افراد ہلاک ہوچکے ہیں جبکہ سیکڑوں افراد زخمی ہیں۔</p> <p>ان مظاہروں میں طلبا سب سے آگے نظر آرہے ہیں۔ عدالت کی جانب سے ’فریڈم فائٹرز‘ (جنہوں نے 1971ء کی جنگ آزادی میں حصہ لیا تھا) کے بچوں اور پوتوں کا سرکاری نوکریوں میں کوٹہ بحال کیے جانے کے بعد بنگلہ دیش کے بہت سے نوجوان سڑکوں پر نکل آئے۔ بنگلہ دیش میں بہت سے لوگوں کے لیے سرکاری شعبے کی ملازمت ایک مقبول آپشن ہے لیکن اس کے باوجود تقریباً نصف فیصد ملازمتیں مختلف کوٹوں کے تحت محفوظ ہیں۔</p> <p>معیشت کی ترقی میں جمود اور لاکھوں نوجوانوں کی بے روزگاری کے درمیان عدالت کے فیصلے نے عوام میں اشتعال کو بھڑکایا۔ جمعہ کو بھی allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms"></iframe></div> </figure></p> <p>ملازمتوں کے کوٹے پر ہونے والے مظاہروں کا تعلق معاشی سُست روی کے ساتھ ساتھ سیاسی حق رائے دہی سے محرومی کے احساس سے بھی ہے کہ جن سب نے بنگلہ دیش میں ایک تشویش ناک صورت حال پیدا کردی ہے۔ رواں سال کے آغاز میں شیخ حسینہ واجد ریکارڈ چوتھی بار مسلسل وزیراعظم منتخب ہوئی ہیں۔ اپوزیشن کی طرف سے بائیکاٹ نے انتخابات کی قانونی حیثیت پر سوالات اٹھائے تھے۔ اس سے قبل شیخ حسینہ واجد نے بنگلہ دیش نیشنلسٹ پارٹی سمیت اپوزیشن جماعتوں کے خلاف کریک ڈاؤن بھی کیا تھا۔</p> <p>اس طرح کے سیاسی تقسیم شدہ ماحول اور شہریوں کی توقع کے مطابق معاشی ترقی نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے اتنے بڑے پیمانے پر مظاہروں کو غیر متوقع نہیں کہا جا سکتا۔ گزشتہ سال گارمنٹس سیکٹر کے ہزاروں ورکرز بھی زیادہ اجرت کا مطالبہ کرتے ہوئے سڑکوں پر نکل آئے تھے۔ بنگلہ دیش کی حکومت کو صورت حال سے احتیاط سے نمٹنا چاہیے ایسا نہ ہو کہ حالات قابو سے باہر ہو جائیں۔ مظاہرین کے جائز مطالبات پورے کیے جائیں، مظاہرین کی ہلاکتوں کی شفاف تحقیقات کی جائیں۔</p> <p>بنگلہ دیش کے حالات کو دیگر جنوبی ایشیائی ممالک کو ایک انتباہ کے طور پر لینا چاہیے۔ خراب معیشت کے درمیان سیاسی انتقام کا کھیل اور ریاست کا سخت ردعمل، یہ ایک ایسا امتزاج ہے کہ جس سے تباہی آسکتی ہے۔ تمام سیاسی قوتوں کو جمہوری اصولوں کے
