In 1973, Chen Jingrun proved that each odd number can be shown by one prime plus a number that has maximum two primes. In this article, we state one proof for Goldbach’conjecture. Introduction: Bertrand’s postulate state for every positive integer n, there is always at least one prime p, such that n < p < 2n. This was first proved by Chebyshev in 1850, which is why postulate is also called the Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem. Legendre’s conjecture states that there is a prime between n2 and (n+1)2 for every positive integer n, which is one of the four Landau’s problems. The rest of these four basic problems are; (i) Twin prime conjecture: There are infinitely many primes p such that p+2 is a prime. (ii) Goldbach’s conjecture: Every even integer n > 2 can be written asthe sum of two primes. (iii) Are there infinitely many primes p such that p−1 is a perfect square? Problems (i), (ii), and (iii) are open till date. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand-Chebyshev%20theorem" title="Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem">Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Landau%E2%80%99s%20problems" title=" Landau’s problems"> Landau’s problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=twin%20prime" title=" twin prime"> twin prime</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Legendre%E2%80%99s%20conjecture" title=" Legendre’s conjecture"> Legendre’s conjecture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oppermann%E2%80%99s%20conjecture" title=" Oppermann’s conjecture"> Oppermann’s conjecture</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30678/a-proof-for-goldbachs-conjecture" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30678.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">402</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">25</span> Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetics in Bertrand Russell’s Philosophy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Djoudi%20Ali">Djoudi Ali</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this article, we shall expose some of the more interesting interactions of philosophy and cybernetics, some philosophical issues arising in cybernetic systems, and some questions in philosophy of our daily life related to the artificial intelligence. However, as expected, all the benefits of Industry 4.0 face many of the inevitable changes and challenges they pose. One of them is the inevitable transformation of current competition and business models. This article examines the possible results of competitive conversion from the classic Bertrand and Cournot models to qualitatively new competition based on innovation. Ability to deliver a new product quickly and the possibility to produce the individual design (through flexible and quickly configurable factories) by reducing equipment failures and increasing process automation and control is highly important. This study shows that the ongoing transformation of the competition model is changing the game. This, together with the creation of complex value networks, means huge investments that make it particularly difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the ongoing digitalization of data raises new concerns regarding legal obligations, intellectual property, and security. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20and%20Cournot%20Competition" title="Bertrand and Cournot Competition">Bertrand and Cournot Competition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=competition%20model" title=" competition model"> competition model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=industry%204.0" title=" industry 4.0"> industry 4.0</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=industrial%20organisation" title=" industrial organisation"> industrial organisation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=monopolistic%20competition" title=" monopolistic competition"> monopolistic competition</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126029/transformation-of-industrial-policy-towards-industry-40-and-its-impact-on-firms-competition" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126029.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">23</span> A Method for solving Legendre&#039;s Conjecture</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hashem%20Sazegar">Hashem Sazegar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Legendre’s conjecture states that there is a prime number between n^2 and (n + 1)^2 for every positive integer n. When it is above the demand, it generates a loss while in the opposite case; energy needs are not fully satisfied. To overcome this problem specific to irregular energies, the process of pumped-storage hydroelectricity (PSH) is studied in present paper. A combination of wind turbine and pumped storage system is more predictable and is more compliant to provide electricity supply according to daily demand. PSH system is already used in several countries to accumulate electricity by pumping water during off-peak times into a storage reservoir, and to use it during peak times to produce energy. Present work discusses a feasibility study on size and financial productivity of PSH system actuated with wind turbines specific power. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20turbine" title="wind turbine">wind turbine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydroelectricity" title=" hydroelectricity"> hydroelectricity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20storage" title=" energy storage"> energy storage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pumped-storage%20hydroelectricity" title=" pumped-storage hydroelectricity"> pumped-storage hydroelectricity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36089/feasibility-conditions-for-wind-and-hydraulic-energy-coupling" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36089.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">379</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">21</span> Brand Content Optimization: A Major Challenge for Sellers on Marketplaces</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Richardson%20Ciguene">Richardson Ciguene</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20Marron"> Bertrand Marron</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nicolas%20Habert"> Nicolas Habert</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Today, more and more consumers are purchasing their products and services online. At the same time, the penetration rate of very small and medium-sized businesses on marketplaces continues to increase, which has the direct impact of intensifying competition between sellers. Thus, only the best-optimized deals are ranked well by algorithms and are visible to consumers. However, it is almost impossible to know all the Brand Content rules and criteria established by marketplaces, which is essential to optimizing their product sheets, especially since these rules change constantly. In this paper, we propose to detail this question of Brand Content optimization by taking into account the case of Amazon in order to capture the scientific dimension behind such a subject. In a second step, we will present the genesis of our research project, DEEPERFECT, which aims to set up original methods and effective tools in order to help sellers present on marketplaces in the optimization of their branded content. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-commerce" title="e-commerce">e-commerce</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scoring" title=" scoring"> scoring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=marketplace" title=" marketplace"> marketplace</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amazon" title=" Amazon"> Amazon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brand%20content" title=" brand content"> brand content</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=product%20sheets" title=" product sheets"> product sheets</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/148021/brand-content-optimization-a-major-challenge-for-sellers-on-marketplaces" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/148021.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">123</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20</span> Multiscale Simulation of Ink Seepage into Fibrous Structures through a Mesoscopic Variational Model </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Athmane%20Bakhta">Athmane Bakhta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sebastien%20Leclaire"> Sebastien Leclaire</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=David%20Vidal"> David Vidal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Francois%20Bertrand"> Francois Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Cheriet"> Mohamed Cheriet</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This work presents a new three-dimensional variational model proposed for the simulation of ink seepage into paper sheets at the fiber level. The model, inspired by the Hising model, takes into account a finite volume of ink and describes the system state through gravity, cohesion, and adhesion force interactions. At the mesoscopic scale, the paper substrate is modeled using a discretized fiber structure generated using a numerical deposition procedure. A modified Monte Carlo method is introduced for the simulation of the ink dynamics. Besides, a multiphase lattice Boltzmann method is suggested to fine-tune the mesoscopic variational model parameters, and it is shown that the ink seepage behaviors predicted by the proposed model can resemble those predicted by a method relying on first principles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fibrous%20media" title="fibrous media">fibrous media</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lattice%20Boltzmann" title=" lattice Boltzmann"> lattice Boltzmann</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modelling%20and%20simulation" title=" modelling and simulation"> modelling and simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Monte%20Carlo" title=" Monte Carlo"> Monte Carlo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variational%20model" title=" variational model"> variational model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129077/multiscale-simulation-of-ink-seepage-into-fibrous-structures-through-a-mesoscopic-variational-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129077.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">147</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">19</span> Improvement of Model for SIMMER Code for SFR Corium Relocation Studies</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Bachrata">A. This paper is focused on model improvements in the SIMMER code in order to perform studies of severe accident mitigation of Sodium Fast Reactor. During the design process of the mitigation devices dedicated to extraction of molten fuel from the core region, the molten fuel propagation from the core up to the core catcher has to be studied. In this aim, analytical as well as the complex thermo-hydraulic simulations with SIMMER-III code are performed. The studies presented in this paper focus on physical phenomena and associated physical models that influence the corium relocation. Firstly, the molten pool heat exchange with surrounding structures is analysed since it influences directly the instant of rupture of the dedicated tubes favouring the corium relocation for mitigation purpose. After the corium penetration into mitigation tubes, the fuel-coolant interactions result in formation of debris bed. Analyses of debris bed fluidization as well as sinking into a fluid are presented in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=corium" title="corium">corium</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mitigation%20tubes" title=" mitigation tubes"> mitigation tubes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SIMMER-III" title=" SIMMER-III"> SIMMER-III</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sodium%20fast%20reactor" title=" sodium fast reactor"> sodium fast reactor</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2505/improvement-of-model-for-simmer-code-for-sfr-corium-relocation-studies" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2505.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">388</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">18</span> Epidemiological Profile of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (PFA), Haiti, 2018-2021</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sophonie%20Sarielle%20Jean%20Jacques%20Bertrand">Sophonie Sarielle Jean Jacques Bertrand</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background: Acute flaccid paralysis (PFA) is the sudden weakness or paralysis of muscles seen in children under 15 years of age. According to the WHO, PFA remains a real public health problem. For Haiti, the PFA represents a national priority. This study aims to describe the epidemiological profile of cases of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (PFA) in Haiti from 2018-2020. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study covering the period of 2018-2021 was carried out. epidemiological surveillance data PFA exported to Integrated Monitoring Evaluation Surveillance (MESI) were used. Sociodemographic variables were studied. Prevalence and clinical mortality rate were calculated. Epi Info 7.2 and Excel 2016 were used for data analysis. Results: 76 AFP cases were recorded for the period, or 13 (17%) in 2018, 23 (30%) in 2019, 8 (11%) in 2020 32 (42%) in 2021. Children aged 5-14 years accounted for 36% of cases (n= 26). The M/F sex ratio was 0.52, with a predominance of the female sex. The clinical mortality rate was 2.6%. The prevalence was 1.77/100,000 people. Conclusion: From 2018-2021, 76 cases of PFA cases were recorded in the 10 departments of the country, of which the West department was the most affected. Maintaining high vaccination coverage and a standard acute flaccid paralysis surveillance system are essential for the eradication of this condition. All prediction models are built in Python, with tool Scikit-learn and Pybrain. The input data for both consumption and demand prediction are time stamp, outdoor dry bulb temperature, relative humidity, air handling unit (AHU), supply air temperature and solar radiation. Solar radiation, which is unavailable a day-ahead, is predicted at first, and then this estimation is used as an input to predict consumption and demand. Models to predict consumption and demand are trained in both SVM and ANN, and depend on cooling or heating, weekdays or weekends. The results show that ANN is the better option for both consumption and demand prediction. It can achieve 15.50% to 20.03% coefficient of variance of root mean square error (CVRMSE) for consumption prediction and 22.89% to 32.42% CVRMSE for demand prediction, respectively. To conclude, the presented models have potential to help building owners to purchase electricity at the wholesale market, but they are not robust when used in demand response control. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=building%20energy%20prediction" title="building energy prediction">building energy prediction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=data%20mining" title=" data mining"> data mining</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=demand%20response" title=" demand response"> demand response</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electricity%20market" title=" electricity market"> electricity market</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54774/development-of-prediction-models-of-day-ahead-hourly-building-electricity-consumption-and-peak-power-demand-using-the-machine-learning-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54774.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">316</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">16</span> Selective Laser Melting (SLM) Process and Its Influence on the Machinability of TA6V Alloy</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafa%C5%82%20Kami%C5%84ski">Rafał Kamiński</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joel%20Rech"> Joel Rech</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Philippe%20Bertrand"> Philippe Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Christophe%20Desrayaud"> Christophe Desrayaud</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Titanium alloys are among the most important material in the aircraft industry, due to its low density, high strength, and corrosion resistance. However, these alloys are considered as difficult to machine because they have poor thermal properties and high reactivity with cutting tools. The Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process becomes even more popular through industry since it enables the design of new complex components, that cannot be manufactured by standard processes. However, the high temperature reached during the melting phase as well as the several rapid heating and cooling phases, due to the movement of the laser, induce complex microstructures. These microstructures differ from conventional equiaxed ones obtained by casting+forging. Parts obtained by SLM have to be machined in order calibrate the dimensions and the surface roughness of functional surfaces. The ball milling technique is widely applied to finish complex shapes. However, the machinability of titanium is strongly influenced by the microstructure. So the objective of this work is to investigate the influence of the SLM process, i.e. microstructure, on the machinability of titanium, compared to conventional forming processes. The machinability is analyzed by measuring surface roughness, cutting forces, cutting tool wear for a range of cutting conditions (depth of cut ap, feed per tooth fz, spindle speed N) in accordance with industrial practices. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ball%20milling" title="ball milling">ball milling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microstructure" title=" microstructure"> microstructure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surface%20roughness" title=" surface roughness"> surface roughness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=titanium" title=" titanium"> titanium</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57947/selective-laser-melting-slm-process-and-its-influence-on-the-machinability-of-ta6v-alloy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/57947.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">297</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">15</span> Mineral Chemistry of Barium and Titanium-Bearing Biotite in Alkaline Trachyte from Upper Benue Valley (Northern Cameroon)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fadimatou%20Ngounouno%20Yamgouota">Fadimatou Ngounouno Yamgouota</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Isaac%20Bertrand%20Gbambi%C3%A9%20Mbowoub"> Isaac Bertrand Gbambié Mbowoub</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ismaila%20Ngounounob"> Ismaila Ngounounob</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Barium and titanium bearing biotite from alkaline trachyte of Upper Benue valley, Northern Cameroon is studied. The iron enrichment index of mica (average I.E.=0.40) is intermediate between annite and phlogopite. The biotite phenocrysts contain up to 6.2 wt. % BaO and 9.8 wt. % TiO2. The BaO content of electron-microprobe mica is positively correlated with the Al2O3, TiO2, and FeO contents, and negatively correlated with the SiO2, K2O, and MgO contents. Ba and Ti rich micas are generally found in in SiO2 deficient rocks, whereas Ba and Ti bearing mica in this study occur in silica-saturated rocks. Most of the phenocrysts analysed have deficiencies in their octahedral and interlayer sites. Deficiencies in the octahedral sites may arise from the Ti vacancy and partly the Ti tschermakite substitution. On the other hand, deficiencies in the interlayer-site are due to the replacement of K by Ba. The substitution mechanism in the Upper Benue valley mica is characterized by Ba + 2Ti + 3Al =(K + Na + Ca) + 3(Mg + Fe + Mn) + 3Si, with an excellent correlation coefficient. Biotite compositions from the Upper Benue valley area fall between the quartz-fayalite-magnetite (QFM) and nickel-nickel-oxide (NNO) oxygen fugacity buffers. All these show that Upper Benue valley mica with high Ba and Ti contents may be formed from magmas rich in these elements. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benue%20valley" title="Benue valley">Benue valley</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trachyte" title=" trachyte"> trachyte</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biotite" title=" biotite"> biotite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mineral%20chemistry" title=" mineral chemistry"> mineral chemistry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=enrichment" title=" enrichment"> enrichment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6752/mineral-chemistry-of-barium-and-titanium-bearing-biotite-in-alkaline-trachyte-from-upper-benue-valley-northern-cameroon" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6752.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">297</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">14</span> CMPD: Cancer Mutant Proteome Database</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Po-Jung%20Huang">Po-Jung Huang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chi-Ching%20Lee"> Chi-Ching Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20Chin-Ming%20Tan"> Bertrand Chin-Ming Tan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yuan-Ming%20Yeh"> Yuan-Ming Yeh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Julie%20Lichieh%20Chu"> Julie Lichieh Chu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tin-Wen%20Chen"> Tin-Wen Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cheng-Yang%20Lee"> Cheng-Yang Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ruei-Chi%20Gan"> Ruei-Chi Gan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hsuan%20Liu"> Hsuan Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Petrus%20Tang"> Petrus Tang </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Whole-exome sequencing focuses on the protein coding regions of disease/cancer associated genes based on a priori knowledge is the most cost-effective method to study the association between genetic alterations and disease. Recent advances in high throughput sequencing technologies and proteomic techniques has provided an opportunity to integrate genomics and proteomics, allowing readily detectable mutated peptides corresponding to mutated genes. Since sequence database search is the most widely used method for protein identification using Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics technology, a mutant proteome database is required to better approximate the real protein pool to improve disease-associated mutated protein identification. Large-scale whole exome/genome sequencing studies were launched by National Cancer Institute (NCI), Broad Institute, and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), which provide not only a comprehensive report on the analysis of coding variants in diverse samples cell lines but a invaluable resource for extensive research community. No existing database is available for the collection of mutant protein sequences related to the identified variants in these studies. Despite notable advancements in CRC treatment, frequent occurrences of side effects and the development of therapy resistance persistently challenge current approaches. Eventually, innovations in focal therapies remain imperative to enhance the patient’s overall quality of life. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) emerges as a promising treatment modality, clinically used for the treatment of various cancer types. It relies on the use of photosensitive molecules called photosensitizers (PS), which are photoactivated after accumulation in cancer cells, to induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause cancer cell death. Among commonly used metal-based drugs in cancer therapy, ruthenium (Ru) possesses favorable attributes that demonstrate its selectivity towards cancer cells and render it suitable for anti-cancer drug design. In vitro studies using distinct arene-Ru complexes, encapsulating porphin PS, are conducted on human HCT116 and HT-29 colorectal cancer cell lines. These studies encompass the evaluation of the antiproliferative effect, ROS production, apoptosis, cell cycle progression, molecular localization, and protein expression. Preliminary results indicated that these complexes exert significant photocytotoxicity on the studied colorectal cancer cell lines, representing them as promising and potential candidates for anti- cancer agents. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=colorectal%20cancer" title="colorectal cancer">colorectal cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photodynamic%20therapy" title=" photodynamic therapy"> photodynamic therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photosensitizers" title=" photosensitizers"> photosensitizers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arene-ruthenium%20complexes" title=" arene-ruthenium complexes"> arene-ruthenium complexes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=apoptosis" title=" apoptosis"> apoptosis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173340/new-photosensitizers-encapsulated-within-arene-ruthenium-complexes-active-in-photodynamic-therapy-intracellular-signaling-and-evaluation-in-colorectal-cancer-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173340.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">99</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">12</span> TA6V Selective Laser Melting as an Innovative Method Produce Complex Shapes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafa%C5%82%20Kami%C5%84ski">Rafał Kamiński</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joel%20Rech"> Joel Rech</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Philippe%20Bertrand"> Philippe Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Christophe%20Desrayaud"> Christophe Desrayaud</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Additive manufacturing is a hot topic for industry. Among the additive techniques, Selective Laser Melting (SLM) becomes even more popular, especially for making parts for aerospace applications, thanks to its design freedom (customized and light structures) and its reduced time to market. However, some functional surfaces have to be machined to achieve small tolerances and low surface roughness to fulfill industry specifications. The complex shapes designed for SLM (ex: titanium turbine blades) necessitate the use of ball end milling operations like in the conventional process after forging. However, the metallurgical state of TA6V is very different from the one obtained usually from forging, because of the laser sintering layer by layer. So this paper aims to investigate the influence of new TA6V metallurgies produced by SLM on the machinability in ball end milling. Machinability is considered as the property of a material to obtain easily and by a cheap way a functional surface. This means, for instance, the property to limit cutting tool wear rate and to get smooth surfaces. So as to reach this objective, SLM parts have been produced and heat treated with various conditions leading to various metallurgies that are compared with a standard equiaxed α+β wrought microstructure. The machinability is analyzed by measuring surface roughness, tool wear and cutting forces for a range of cutting conditions (depth of cut 'ap', feed per tooth 'fz', spindle speed 'N') in accordance with industrial practices. This work has revealed that TA6V produced by SLM can lead to a better machinability that standard wrought alloys. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ball%20milling" title="ball milling">ball milling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=selective%20laser%20melting" title=" selective laser melting"> selective laser melting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surface%20roughness" title=" surface roughness"> surface roughness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=titanium" title=" titanium"> titanium</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wear" title=" wear"> wear</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59147/ta6v-selective-laser-melting-as-an-innovative-method-produce-complex-shapes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/59147.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">280</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">11</span> Fast Aerodynamic Evaluation of Transport Aircraft in Early Phases</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xavier%20Bertrand">Xavier Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alexandre%20Cayrel"> Alexandre Cayrel</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The early phase of an aircraft development is instrumental as it really drives the potential of a new concept. Any weakness in the high-level design (wing planform, moveable surfaces layout etc.) will be extremely difficult and expensive to recover later in the aircraft development process. Aerodynamic evaluation in this very early development phase is driven by two main criteria: a short lead-time to allow quick iterations of the geometrical design, and a high quality of the calculations to get an accurate & reliable assessment of the current status. These two criteria are usually quite contradictory. Actually, short lead time of a couple of hours from end-to-end can be obtained with very simple tools (semi-empirical methods for instance) although their accuracy is limited, whereas higher quality calculations require heavier/more complex tools, which obviously need more complex inputs as well, and a significantly longer lead time. At this point, the choice has to be done between accuracy and lead-time. A brand new approach has been developed within Airbus, aiming at obtaining quickly high quality evaluations of the aerodynamic of an aircraft. This methodology is based on a joint use of Surrogate Modelling and a lifting line code. The Surrogate Modelling is used to get the wing sections characteristics (e.g. lift coefficient vs. angle of attack), whatever the airfoil geometry, the status of the moveable surfaces (aileron/spoilers) or the high-lift devices deployment. From these characteristics, the lifting line code is used to get the 3D effects on the wing whatever the flow conditions (low/high Mach numbers etc.). This methodology has been applied successfully to a concept of medium range aircraft. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aerodynamics" title="aerodynamics">aerodynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lifting%20line" title=" lifting line"> lifting line</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surrogate%20model" title=" surrogate model"> surrogate model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CFD" title=" CFD"> CFD</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42111/fast-aerodynamic-evaluation-of-transport-aircraft-in-early-phases" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42111.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">359</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">10</span> Belief-Based Games: An Appropriate Tool for Uncertain Strategic Situation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saied%20Farham-Nia">Saied Farham-Nia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alireza%20Ghaffari-Hadigheh"> Alireza Ghaffari-Hadigheh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Game theory is a mathematical tool to study the behaviors of a rational and strategic decision-makers, that analyze existing equilibrium in interest conflict situation and provides an appropriate mechanisms for cooperation between two or more player. Game theory is applicable for any strategic and interest conflict situation in politics, management and economics, sociology and etc. Real worlds’ decisions are usually made in the state of indeterminacy and the players often are lack of the information about the other players’ payoffs or even his own, which leads to the games in uncertain environments. When historical data for decision parameters distribution estimation is unavailable, we may have no choice but to use expertise belief degree, which represents the strength with that we believe the event will happen. To deal with belief degrees, we have use uncertainty theory which is introduced and developed by Liu based on normality, duality, subadditivity and product axioms to modeling personal belief degree. As we know, the personal belief degree heavily depends on the personal knowledge concerning the event and when personal knowledge changes, cause changes in the belief degree too. Uncertainty theory not only theoretically is self-consistent but also is the best among other theories for modeling belief degree on practical problem. In this attempt, we primarily reintroduced Expected Utility Function in uncertainty environment according to uncertainty theory axioms to extract payoffs. Then, we employed Nash Equilibrium to investigate the solutions. For more practical issues, Stackelberg leader-follower Game and Bertrand Game, as a benchmark models are discussed. Compared to existing articles in the similar topics, the game models and solution concepts introduced in this article can be a framework for problems in an uncertain competitive situation based on experienced expert’s belief degree. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=game%20theory" title="game theory">game theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=uncertainty%20theory" title=" uncertainty theory"> uncertainty theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=belief%20degree" title=" belief degree"> belief degree</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=uncertain%20expected%20value" title=" uncertain expected value"> uncertain expected value</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nash%20equilibrium" title=" Nash equilibrium"> Nash equilibrium</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42359/belief-based-games-an-appropriate-tool-for-uncertain-strategic-situation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42359.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">415</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9</span> An Approach to Automate the Modeling of Life Cycle Inventory Data: Case Study on Electrical and Electronic Equipment Products</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Axelle%20Bertrand">Axelle Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tom%20Bauer"> Tom Bauer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carole%20Charbuillet"> Carole Charbuillet</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Martin%20Bonte"> Martin Bonte</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marie%20Voyer"> Marie Voyer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nicolas%20Perry"> Nicolas Perry</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The complexity of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) can be identified as the ultimate obstacle to massification. Due to these obstacles, the diffusion of eco-design and LCA methods in the manufacturing sectors could be impossible. This article addresses the research question: How to adapt the LCA method to generalize it massively and improve its performance? This paper aims to develop an approach for automating LCA in order to carry out assessments on a massive scale. To answer this, we proceeded in three steps: First, an analysis of the literature to identify existing automation methods. Given the constraints of large-scale manual processing, it was necessary to define a new approach, drawing inspiration from certain methods and combining them with new ideas and improvements. In a second part, our development of automated construction is presented (reconciliation and implementation of data). Finally, the LCA case study of a conduit is presented to demonstrate the feature-based approach offered by the developed tool. A computerized environment supports effective and efficient decision-making related to materials and processes, facilitating the process of data mapping and hence product modeling. This method is also able to complete the LCA process on its own within minutes. Thus, the calculations and the LCA report are automatically generated. The tool developed has shown that automation by code is a viable solution to meet LCA's massification objectives. It has major advantages over the traditional LCA method and overcomes the complexity of LCA. Indeed, the case study demonstrated the time savings associated with this methodology and, therefore, the opportunity to increase the number of LCA reports generated and, therefore, to meet regulatory requirements. Moreover, this approach also presents the potential of the proposed method for a wide range of applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=automation" title="automation">automation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EEE" title=" EEE"> EEE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20cycle%20assessment" title=" life cycle assessment"> life cycle assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20cycle%20inventory" title=" life cycle inventory"> life cycle inventory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=massively" title=" massively"> massively</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163465/an-approach-to-automate-the-modeling-of-life-cycle-inventory-data-case-study-on-electrical-and-electronic-equipment-products" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163465.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">90</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8</span> Computational Fluid Dynamicsfd Simulations of Air Pollutant Dispersion: Validation of Fire Dynamic Simulator Against the Cute Experiments of the Cost ES1006 Action </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Virginie%20Hergault">Virginie Hergault</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Siham%20Chebbah"> Siham Chebbah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20Frere"> Bertrand Frere</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Following in-house objectives, Central laboratory of Paris police Prefecture conducted a general review on models and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes used to simulate pollutant dispersion in the atmosphere. Starting from that review and considering main features of Large Eddy Simulation, Central Laboratory Of Paris Police Prefecture (LCPP) postulates that the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) model, from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), should be well suited for air pollutant dispersion modeling. This paper focuses on the implementation and the evaluation of FDS in the frame of the European COST ES1006 Action. This action aimed at quantifying the performance of modeling approaches. In this paper, the CUTE dataset carried out in the city of Hamburg, and its mock-up has been used. We have performed a comparison of FDS results with wind tunnel measurements from CUTE trials on the one hand, and, on the other, with the models results involved in the COST Action. The most time-consuming part of creating input data for simulations is the transfer of obstacle geometry information to the format required by SDS. Thus, we have developed Python codes to convert automatically building and topographic data to the FDS input file. In order to evaluate the predictions of FDS with observations, statistical performance measures have been used. These metrics include the fractional bias (FB), the normalized mean square error (NMSE) and the fraction of predictions within a factor of two of observations (FAC2). As well as the CFD models tested in the COST Action, FDS results demonstrate a good agreement with measured concentrations. Furthermore, the metrics assessment indicate that FB and NMSE meet the tolerance acceptable. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical%20simulations" title="numerical simulations">numerical simulations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=atmospheric%20dispersion" title=" atmospheric dispersion"> atmospheric dispersion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cost%20ES1006%20action" title=" cost ES1006 action"> cost ES1006 action</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CFD%20model" title=" CFD model"> CFD model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cute%20experiments" title=" cute experiments"> cute experiments</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20tunnel%20data" title=" wind tunnel data"> wind tunnel data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical%20results" title=" numerical results"> numerical results</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107593/computational-fluid-dynamicsfd-simulations-of-air-pollutant-dispersion-validation-of-fire-dynamic-simulator-against-the-cute-experiments-of-the-cost-es1006-action" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107593.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">133</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> Targeted Photodynamic Therapy for Intraperitoneal Ovarian Cancer, A Way to Stimulate Anti-Tumoral Immune Response</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lea%20Boidin">Lea Boidin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Martha%20Baydoun"> Martha Baydoun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand%20Leroux"> Bertrand Leroux</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olivier%20Morales"> Olivier Morales</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samir%20Acherar"> Samir Acherar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Celine%20Frochot"> Celine Frochot</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nadira%20Delhem"> Nadira Delhem</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most defying diseases in gynecologic oncology. Even though surgery remains crucial in the therapy of patients with primary ovarian cancer, recurrent recidivism calls for the development of new therapy protocols to propose for patients dealing with this cancer. FRα is described as a tumor‐associated antigen in OC, where FRα expression is usually linked with more poorly differentiated, aggressive tumors. The Photodynamic treatment (PDT) available data have shown improvements in the uptake of small tumors and in the induction of a proper anti-tumoral immune response. In order to target specifically peritoneal metastatis, which overexpress FRα, a new-patented PS coupled with folic acid has been developed in our team. Herein we propose PDT using this new patented PS for PDT applied in an in vivo mice model. The efficacy of the treatment was evaluated in mice without and with PBMC reconstitution. Mice were divided into four groups: Non-Treated, PS, Light Only, and PDT Treated and subjected to illumination by laser set at 668nm with a duration of illumination of 45 minutes (or 1 min of illumination followed by 2 minutes of pause repeated 45 times). When mice were not reconstituted and after fractionized PDT protocol, a significant decrease in the tumor volume was noticed. An induction in the anti-tumoral cytokine IFNγ chaperoned this decrease while a subsequent inhibition in the cytokine TGFβ. Even more crucial, when mice were reconstituted and upon PDT, the fold of tumor decrease was even higher. An immune response was activated decoded with an increase in NK, CD3 +, LT helper and Cytotoxic T cells. Thereafter, an increase in the expression of the cytokines IFNγ and TNFα were noticed while an inhibition in TGFβ, IL8 and IL10 accompanied this immune response activation. Therefore, our work has shown for the first time that a fractionized PDT protocol using a folate-targeted PDT is effective for treatment of ovarian cancer. The interest in using PDT in this case, goes beyond the local induction of tumor apoptosis only, but can promote subsequent anti-tumor response. Most of the therapies currently used to treat ovarian cancer, have an uncooperative outcomes on the host immune response. The readiness of a tumor adjuvant treatment like PDT adequate in eliminating the tumor and in concert stimulating anti-tumor immunity would be weighty. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=folate%20receptor" title="folate receptor">folate receptor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ovarian%20cancer" title=" ovarian cancer"> ovarian cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=photodynamic%20therapy" title=" photodynamic therapy"> photodynamic therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=humanized%20mice%20model" title=" humanized mice model"> humanized mice model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151346/targeted-photodynamic-therapy-for-intraperitoneal-ovarian-cancer-a-way-to-stimulate-anti-tumoral-immune-response" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/151346.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">110</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Control of Helminthosporiosis in Oryza sativa Varieties Treated with 24-Epibrassinolide</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuate%20Tueguem%20William%20Norbert">Kuate Tueguem William Norbert</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ngoh%20Dooh%20Jules%20Patrice"> Ngoh Dooh Jules Patrice</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kone%20Sangou%20Abdou%20Nourou"> Kone Sangou Abdou Nourou</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mboussi%20Serge%20Bertrand"> Mboussi Serge Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chewachang%20Godwill%20Mih">Chewachang Godwill Mih</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Essome%20Sale%20Charles"> Essome Sale Charles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Djuissi%20Tohoto%20Doriane"> Djuissi Tohoto Doriane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ambang%20Zachee"> Ambang Zachee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of foliar application of 24-epibrassinolide (EBR) on the development of rice helminthosporiosis caused by Bipolaris oryzae and its influence on the improvement of growth parameters and induction of the synthesis of defense substances in the rice plants. The experimental asset up involved a multifactorial split-plot with two varieties (NERICA 3 and local variety KAMKOU) and five treatments (T0: control, T1: EBR, T2: BANKO PLUS (fungicide), T3: NPK (chemical fertilizer), T4: mixture: NPK + BANKO PLUS + EBR) with three repetitions. Agro-morphological and epidemiological parameters, as well as substances for plant resistance, were evaluated over two growing seasons. The application of the EBR induced significant growth of the rice plants for the 2015 and 2016 growing seasons on the two varieties tested compared to the T0 treatment. At 74 days after sowing (DAS), NERICA 3 showed plant heights of 58.9 ± 5.4; 83.1 ± 10.4; 86.01 ± 9.4; 69.4 ± 11.1 and 87.12 ± 7.4 cm at T0; T1; T2; T3, and T4, respectively. Plant height for the variety KAMKOU varied from 87,12 ± 8,1; 88.1 ± 8.1 and 92.02 ± 6.3 cm in T1, T2, and T3 to 74.1 ± 8.6 and 74.21 ± 11.4 cm in T0 and T3. In accordance with the low rate of expansion of helminthosporiosis in experimental plots, EBR (T1) significantly reduced the development of the disease with severities of 0.0; 1.29, and 2.04%, respectively at 78; 92, and 111 DAS on the variety NERICA 3 compared with1; 3.15 and 3.79% in the control T0. The reduction of disease development/severity as a result of the application of EBR is due to the induction of acquired resistance of rice varieties through increased phenol (13.73 eqAG/mg/PMF) and total protein (117.89 eqBSA/mg/PMF) in the T1 treatment against 5.37 eqAG/mg/PMF and 104.97 eqBSA/mg/PMF in T0 for the NERICA 3 variety. Similarly, on the KAMKOU variety, 148.53 eqBSA/mg/PMF were protein and 6.10 eqAG/mg/PMF of phenol in T1. In summary, the results show the significant effect of EBR on plant growth, yield, synthesis of secondary metabolites and defense proteins, and disease resistance. The EBR significantly reduced losses of rice grains by causing an average gain of about 1.55 t/ha compared to the control and 1.00 t/ha compared to the NPK-based treatment for the two varieties studied. Further, the enzymatic activities of PPOs, POXs, and PR2s were higher in leaves from treated EBR-based plants. These results show that 24-epibrassinolide can be used in the control of helminthosporiosis of rice to reduce disease and increase yields. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oryza%20sativa" title="Oryza sativa">Oryza sativa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=24-epibrassinolide" title=" 24-epibrassinolide"> 24-epibrassinolide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=helminthosporiosis" title=" helminthosporiosis"> helminthosporiosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=secondary%20metabolites" title=" secondary metabolites"> secondary metabolites</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PR%20proteins" title=" PR proteins"> PR proteins</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acquired%20resistance" title=" acquired resistance"> acquired resistance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119499/control-of-helminthosporiosis-in-oryza-sativa-varieties-treated-with-24-epibrassinolide" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119499.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">188</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> Multi-Objective Optimization of the Thermal-Hydraulic Behavior for a Sodium Fast Reactor with a Gas Power Conversion System and a Loss of off-Site Power Simulation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Avent%20Grange">Avent Grange</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Frederic%20Bertrand"> Frederic Bertrand</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jean-Baptiste%20Droin"> Jean-Baptiste Droin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amandine%20Marrel"> Amandine Marrel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jean-Henry%20Ferrasse"> Jean-Henry Ferrasse</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olivier%20Boutin"> Olivier Boutin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> CEA and its industrial partners are designing a gas Power Conversion System (PCS) based on a Brayton cycle for the ASTRID Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor. Investigations of control and regulation requirements to operate this PCS during operating, incidental and accidental transients are necessary to adapt core heat removal. To this aim, we developed a methodology to optimize the thermal-hydraulic behavior of the reactor during normal operations, incidents and accidents. This methodology consists of a multi-objective optimization for a specific sequence, whose aim is to increase component lifetime by reducing simultaneously several thermal stresses and to bring the reactor into a stable state. Furthermore, the multi-objective optimization complies with safety and operating constraints. Operating, incidental and accidental sequences use specific regulations to control the thermal-hydraulic reactor behavior, each of them is defined by a setpoint, a controller and an actuator. In the multi-objective problem, the parameters used to solve the optimization are the setpoints and the settings of the controllers associated with the regulations included in the sequence. In this way, the methodology allows designers to define an optimized and specific control strategy of the plant for the studied sequence and hence to adapt PCS piloting at its best. The multi-objective optimization is performed by evolutionary algorithms coupled to surrogate models built on variables computed by the thermal-hydraulic system code, CATHARE2. The methodology is applied to a loss of off-site power sequence. Three variables are controlled: the sodium outlet temperature of the sodium-gas heat exchanger, turbomachine rotational speed and water flow through the heat sink. These regulations are chosen in order to minimize thermal stresses on the gas-gas heat exchanger, on the sodium-gas heat exchanger and on the vessel. The main results of this work are optimal setpoints for the three regulations. Moreover, Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control setting is considered and efficient actuators used in controls are chosen through sensitivity analysis results. Finally, the optimized regulation system and the reactor control procedure, provided by the optimization process, are verified through a direct CATHARE2 calculation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20power%20conversion%20system" title="gas power conversion system">gas power conversion system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=loss%20of%20off-site%20power" title=" loss of off-site power"> loss of off-site power</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-objective%20optimization" title=" multi-objective optimization"> multi-objective optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=regulation" title=" regulation"> regulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sodium%20fast%20reactor" title=" sodium fast reactor"> sodium fast reactor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surrogate%20model" title=" surrogate model"> surrogate model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/86881/multi-objective-optimization-of-the-thermal-hydraulic-behavior-for-a-sodium-fast-reactor-with-a-gas-power-conversion-system-and-a-loss-of-off-site-power-simulation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/86881.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">309</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Safety and Feasibility of Distal Radial Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty - The DR-BAV Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alexandru%20Achim">Alexandru Achim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tam%C3%A1s%20Sz%C5%B1csborus"> Tamás Szűcsborus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Viktor%20Sasi"> Viktor Sasi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ferenc%20Nagy"> Ferenc Nagy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zolt%C3%A1n%20Jambrik"> Zoltán Jambrik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Attila%20Nemes"> Attila Nemes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Albert%20Varga"> Albert Varga</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C%C4%83lin%20Homorodean"> Călin Homorodean</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Olivier%20F.%20Bertrand"> Olivier F. Results: 32 patients (40 % male, mean age 80 ± 8,5) with severe aortic valve stenosis were included in the study and 4 patients were excluded. Technical success was achieved in all patients (100%). Hemodynamic success was achieved in 30 patients (93,75%). Invasive max and mean gradients were reduced from 73±22 mm Hg and 49±22 mm Hg to 49±19 mm Hg and 20±13 mm Hg, respectively (p = <.001). Clinical success was achieved in 29 patients (90,6%). In total, no major adverse cardiac or cerebrovascular event nor vascular complications (according to VARC 2 criteria) occurred during the intervention. All-cause death at 6 months was 12%. Conclusion: According to our study, dual distal radial artery access is a safe and effective option for balloon aortic valvuloplasty in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis and can be performed in all patients with sufficient lumen diameter. Future randomized studies are warranted to investigate whether this technique is superior to other approaches. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mean%20invasive%20gradient" title="mean invasive gradient">mean invasive gradient</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distal%20radial%20access%20for%20balloon%20aortic%20valvuloplasty%20%28DR-BAV%29" title=" distal radial access for balloon aortic valvuloplasty (DR-BAV)"> distal radial access for balloon aortic valvuloplasty (DR-BAV)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aortic%20valve%20stenosis" title=" aortic valve stenosis"> aortic valve stenosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pseudo-aneurysm" title=" pseudo-aneurysm"> pseudo-aneurysm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=arteriovenous%20fistula" title=" arteriovenous fistula"> arteriovenous fistula</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=valve%20academic%20research%20consortium%20%28VARC%29-2" title=" valve academic research consortium (VARC)-2"> valve academic research consortium (VARC)-2</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166341/safety-and-feasibility-of-distal-radial-balloon-aortic-valvuloplasty-the-dr-bav-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166341.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">94</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> The Effect of Zeolite and Fertilizers on Yield and Qualitative Characteristics of Cabbage in the Southeast of Kazakhstan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tursunay%20Vassilina">Tursunay Vassilina</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aigerim%20Shibikeyeva"> Aigerim Shibikeyeva</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adilet%20Sakhbek"> Adilet Sakhbek</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Research has been carried out to study the influence of modified zeolite fertilizers on the quantitative and qualitative indicators of cabbage variety Nezhenka. The use of zeolite and mineral fertilizers had a positive effect on both the yield and quality indicators of the studied crop. The maximum increase in yield from fertilizers was 16.5 t/ha. Application of both zeolite and fertilizer increased the dry matter, sugar and vitamin C content of cabbage heads. It was established that the cabbage contains an amount of nitrates that is safe for human health. Among vegetable crops, cabbage has both food and feed value. One of the limiting factors in the sale of vegetable crops is the degradation of soil fertility due to depletion of nutrient reserves and erosion processes, and non-compliance with fertilizer application technologies. Natural zeolites are used as additives to mineral fertilizers for application in the field, which makes it possible to reduce their doses to minimal quantities. Zeolites improve the agrophysical and agrochemical properties of the soil and the quality of plant products. The research was carried out in a field experiment, carried out in 3 repetitions, on dark chestnut soil in 2023. The soil (pH = 7.2-7.3) of the experimental plot is dark chestnut, the humus content in the arable layer is 2.15%, gross nitrogen 0.098%, phosphorus, potassium 0.225 and 2.4%, respectively. The object of the study was the late cabbage variety Nezhenka. Scheme for applying fertilizers to cabbage: 1. Control (without fertilizers); 2. Zeolite 2t/ha; 3. N45P45K45; 4. N90P90K90; 5. Zeolite, 2 t/ha + N45P45K45; 6. Zeolite, 2 t/ha + N90P90K90. Yield accounting was carried out on a plot-by-plot basis manually. In plant samples, the following was determined: dry matter content by thermostatic method (at 105ºC); sugar content by Bertrand titration method, nitrate content by 1% diphenylamine solution, vitamin C by titrimetric method with acid solution. According to the results, it was established that the yield of cabbage was high – 42.2 t/ha in the treatment Zeolite, 2 t/ha + N90P90K90. When determining the biochemical composition of white cabbage, it was found that the dry matter content was 9.5% and increased with fertilized treatments. The total sugar content increased slightly with the use of zeolite (5.1%) and modified zeolite fertilizer (5.5%), the vitamin C content ranged from 17.5 to 18.16%, while in the control, it was 17.21%. The amount of nitrates in products also increased with increasing doses of nitrogen fertilizers and decreased with the use of zeolite and modified zeolite fertilizer but did not exceed the maximum permissible concentration. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the application of zeolite and fertilizers leads to a significant increase in yield compared to the unfertilized treatment; contribute to the production of cabbage with good and high quality indicators. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cabbage" title="cabbage">cabbage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dry%20matter" title=" dry matter"> dry matter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nitrates" title=" nitrates"> nitrates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=total%20sugar" title=" total sugar"> total sugar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=yield" title=" yield"> yield</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vitamin%20C" title=" vitamin C"> vitamin C</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176205/the-effect-of-zeolite-and-fertilizers-on-yield-and-qualitative-characteristics-of-cabbage-in-the-southeast-of-kazakhstan" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/176205.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">73</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Tectono-Stratigraphic Architecture, Depositional Systems and Salt Tectonics to Strike-Slip Faulting in Kribi-Campo-Cameroon Atlantic Margin with an Unsupervised Machine Learning Approach (West African Margin)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joseph%20Bertrand%20Iboum%20Kissaaka">Joseph Bertrand Iboum Kissaaka</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Charles%20Fonyuy%20Ngum%20Tchioben"> Charles Fonyuy Ngum Tchioben</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Paul%20Gustave%20Fowe%20Kwetche"> Paul Gustave Fowe Kwetche</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jeannette%20Ngo%20Elogan%20Ntem"> Jeannette Ngo Elogan Ntem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Joseph%20Binyet%20Njebakal"> Joseph Binyet Njebakal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ribert%20Yvan%20Makosso-Tchapi"> Ribert Yvan Makosso-Tchapi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fran%C3%A7ois%20Mvondo%20Owono"> François Mvondo Owono</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marie%20Joseph%20Ntamak-Nida"> Marie Joseph Ntamak-Nida</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Located in the Gulf of Guinea, the Kribi-Campo sub-basin belongs to the Aptian salt basins along the West African Margin. In this paper, we investigated the tectono-stratigraphic architecture of the basin, focusing on the role of salt tectonics and strike-slip faults along the Kribi Fracture Zone with implications for reservoir prediction. Using 2D seismic data and well data interpreted through sequence stratigraphy with integrated seismic attributes analysis with Python Programming and unsupervised Machine Learning, at least six second-order sequences, indicating three main stages of tectono-stratigraphic evolution, were determined: pre-salt syn-rift, post-salt rift climax and post-rift stages. The pre-salt syn-rift stage with KTS1 tectonosequence (Barremian-Aptian) reveals a transform rifting along NE-SW transfer faults associated with N-S to NNE-SSW syn-rift longitudinal faults bounding a NW-SE half-graben filled with alluvial to lacustrine-fan delta deposits. The post-salt rift-climax stage (Lower to Upper Cretaceous) includes two second-order tectonosequences (KTS2 and KTS3) associated with the salt tectonics and Campo High uplift. During the rift-climax stage, the growth of salt diapirs developed syncline withdrawal basins filled by early forced regression, mid transgressive and late normal regressive systems tracts. The early rift climax underlines some fine-grained hangingwall fans or delta deposits and coarse-grained fans from the footwall of fault scarps. The post-rift stage (Paleogene to Neogene) contains at least three main tectonosequences KTS4, KTS5 and KTS6-7. The first one developed some turbiditic lobe complexes considered as mass transport complexes and feeder channel-lobe complexes cutting the unstable shelf edge of the Campo High. The last two developed submarine Channel Complexes associated with lobes towards the southern part and braided delta to tidal channels towards the northern part of the Kribi-Campo sub-basin. The reservoir distribution in the Kribi-Campo sub-basin reveals some channels, fan lobes reservoirs and stacked channels reaching up to the polygonal fault systems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tectono-stratigraphic%20architecture" title="tectono-stratigraphic architecture">tectono-stratigraphic architecture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kribi-Campo%20sub-basin" title=" Kribi-Campo sub-basin"> Kribi-Campo sub-basin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title=" machine learning"> machine learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pre-salt%20sequences" title=" pre-salt sequences"> pre-salt sequences</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=post-salt%20sequences" title=" post-salt sequences"> post-salt sequences</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185081/tectono-stratigraphic-architecture-depositional-systems-and-salt-tectonics-to-strike-slip-faulting-in-kribi-campo-cameroon-atlantic-margin-with-an-unsupervised-machine-learning-approach-west-african-margin" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185081.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">56</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Optimization and Coordination of Organic Product Supply Chains under Competition: An Analytical Modeling Perspective</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammadreza%20Nematollahi">Mohammadreza Nematollahi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bahareh%20Mosadegh%20Sedghy"> Bahareh Mosadegh Sedghy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alireza%20%20Tajbakhsh"> Alireza Tajbakhsh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The last two decades have witnessed substantial attention to organic and sustainable agricultural supply chains. Motivated by real-world practices, this paper aims to address two main challenges observed in organic product supply chains: decentralized decision-making process between farmers and their retailers, and competition between organic products and their conventional counterparts. To this aim, an agricultural supply chain consisting of two farmers, a conventional farmer and an organic farmer who offers an organic version of the same product, is considered. Both farmers distribute their products through a single retailer, where there exists competition between the organic and the conventional product. The retailer, as the market leader, sets the wholesale price, and afterward, the farmers set their production quantity decisions. This paper first models the demand functions of the conventional and organic products by incorporating the effect of asymmetric brand equity, which captures the fact that consumers usually pay a premium for organic due to positive perceptions regarding their health and environmental benefits. Then, profit functions with consideration of some characteristics of organic farming, including crop yield gap and organic cost factor, are modeled. Our research also considers both economies and diseconomies of scale in farming production as well as the effects of organic subsidy paid by the government to support organic farming. This paper explores the investigated supply chain in three scenarios: decentralized, centralized, and coordinated decision-making structures. In the decentralized scenario, the conventional and organic farmers and the retailer maximize their own profits individually. In this case, the interaction between the farmers is modeled under the Bertrand competition, while analyzing the interaction between the retailer and farmers under the Stackelberg game structure. In the centralized model, the optimal production strategies are obtained from the entire supply chain perspective. Analytical models are developed to derive closed-form optimal solutions. Moreover, analytical sensitivity analyses are conducted to explore the effects of main parameters like the crop yield gap, organic cost factor, organic subsidy, and percent price premium of the organic product on the farmers’ and retailer’s optimal strategies. Afterward, a coordination scenario is proposed to convince the three supply chain members to shift from the decentralized to centralized decision-making structure. The results indicate that the proposed coordination scenario provides a win-win-win situation for all three members compared to the decentralized model. Moreover, our paper demonstrates that the coordinated model respectively increases and decreases the production and price of organic produce, which in turn motivates the consumption of organic products in the market. Moreover, the proposed coordination model helps the organic farmer better handle the challenges of organic farming, including the additional cost and crop yield gap. Last but not least, our results highlight the active role of the organic subsidy paid by the government as a means of promoting sustainable organic product supply chains. Our paper shows that although the amount of organic subsidy plays a significant role in the production and sales price of organic products, the allocation method of subsidy between the organic farmer and retailer is not of that importance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=analytical%20game-theoretic%20model" title="analytical game-theoretic model">analytical game-theoretic model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=product%20competition" title=" product competition"> product competition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supply%20chain%20coordination" title=" supply chain coordination"> supply chain coordination</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sustainable%20organic%20supply%20chain" title=" sustainable organic supply chain"> sustainable organic supply chain</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118568/optimization-and-coordination-of-organic-product-supply-chains-under-competition-an-analytical-modeling-perspective" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118568.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">111</span> </span> </div> </div> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
