whoever first descended after the moving of the water was cured of all sickness whatever he had.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But a certain man was there who had been diseased for thirty eight years.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua saw this man lying, and he knew that he had been so for a long time, and he said to him: "Do you want to be cured?"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><span class="spcl">The sick man answered and said : "Oh, my lord, there is no one to put me in the baptismal when the waters are moved, but while I am coming, another goes down before me."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua said to him: "Get up! Pick up your bed and walk."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And immediately that man was healed, and he stood up, took his bed, and he walked, and it was the Sabbath day.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And the Jews were saying to him who was healed: "It is the Sabbath. You are not permitted to carry your bed."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he answered and said to them: "He who made me well, he said to me, 'Take up your bed and walk.' "</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they asked him: "Who is this man who said to you, 'Take up your bed and walk?'"</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he that had been healed did not know who Yeshua was, for he had withdrawn himself in the great crowd that was in that place.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><span class="spcl">After a time Yeshua found him in The Temple and said to him: "Behold, you are well again; do not sin, lest something worse than before should happen to you."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And that man departed and said to the Jews that Yeshua was the one who had healed him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And because of this, the Jews were persecuting Yeshua and were seeking to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But Yeshua himself said to them: "My Father is working until this hour, and I am also working."*</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And because of this, the Jews were especially seeking to kill him, not only because he broke the Sabbath, but also because he said that God was his Father, and was making himself equal with God.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But Yeshua answered and said to them: "Timeless truth I tell you: The Son cannot do anything of his own will, but the thing that he sees The Father is doing; for those things that The Father does, these also The Son does like him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><span class="spcl">For The Father loves his Son and he shows him everything he does; greater deeds than these He will show him, that you may be astonished.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><span class="spcl">For just as The Father raises the dead and gives them life, thus also The Son gives life to them whom he will.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span><span class="spcl">For it is not The Father who judges a man, but he has given all judgment to The Son</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><span class="spcl">That everyone should honor The Son as one honors The Father. He who does not honor The Son is not honoring The Father who sent him.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Timeless truth I speak to you: "Whoever hears my word and trusts in him who has sent me has the eternal Life, and he comes not into judgment, but he moves from death into Life.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Timeless truth I speak to you: The hour is coming, it is even now, when the dead shall hear the voice of The Son of God, and they who hear shall live.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><span class="spcl">For just as The Father has The Life in himself, so he has given also to The Son to have The Life in himself.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And he has given him authority to also do judgment because he is The Son of Man.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Do not be astonished at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves shall hear his voice,</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they shall come out: those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil deeds, to the resurrection of judgment.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><span class="spcl">I cannot do anything of my own will, but according to that which I have heard, I judge, and my judgment is just, for I am not seeking my will, but the will of him who has sent Me.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And if I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><span class="spcl">There is another who testifies about me, and I know that his testimony, which he testifies of me, is true.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><span class="spcl">You sent to Yohannan and he testified concerning the truth.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But I was not receiving the testimony of a man, but I say these things that you may live.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><span class="spcl">He was a blazing and shining lamp, and you were willing to boast about the time in his light.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But my testimony which is borne to me is greater than Yohannan's, for the works that my Father gave me to finish, those works which I have done testify for me that The Father has sent Me.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And The Father who has sent me, he testifies of me. You have never heard his voice and you have not seen his appearance,</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-38.htm"><b>38</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And his word is not abiding in you, because you are not trusting in him whom he has sent.</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-39.htm"><b>39</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Search the scriptures, for in them you hope that you have eternal life, and they testify concerning Me,</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-40.htm"><b>40</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And you are not willing to come to me that eternal life may be yours.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-41.htm"><b>41</b></a></span><span class="spcl">I do not receive glory from the children of men.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-42.htm"><b>42</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But I know you, that the love of God is not in you.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-43.htm"><b>43</b></a></span><span class="spcl">I have come in The Name of my Father and you do not receive me, and if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-44.htm"><b>44</b></a></span><span class="spcl">How can you believe, who are accepting glory one from another, and you are not seeking the glory of The One God?</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/john/5-45.htm"><b>45</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Do you think that I am accusing you before The Father?
