The term "Zion" often symbolizes Jerusalem and the spiritual center of God's people. The call to "get up" suggests a sense of urgency and readiness to leave a place of captivity. This echoes the call to leave Egypt during the Exodus, highlighting a theme of deliverance and return to the Promised Land.
Escape,
The command to "escape" indicates a need for immediate departure from a place of danger or spiritual compromise. It suggests that remaining in Babylon poses a threat to the spiritual well-being of the Jewish people. This reflects the biblical theme of separation from worldly influences and a return to God's covenant promises. The urgency of escape is reminiscent of Lot's escape from Sodom, emphasizing the need for swift obedience to God's call.
you who dwell with the Daughter of Babylon!
The "Daughter of Babylon" refers to the city of Babylon itself, personified as a woman. Babylon is historically known for its wealth, power, and idolatry, and it represents a place of exile and spiritual corruption for the Israelites. The phrase implies that the Jewish exiles have become too comfortable or assimilated into Babylonian society. This call to leave Babylon is prophetic, anticipating the fall of Babylon and the eventual return of the exiles to Jerusalem. It also foreshadows the New Testament call for believers to separate from worldly systems, as seen in Revelation 18:4, where God's people are urged to come out of Babylon to avoid sharing in its sins and plagues.
Persons / Places / Events
1. Zion
Represents the city of Jerusalem and, symbolically, the people of God. There is soma reproach implied in the clause, as if these Jews were content to dwell and remain in this heathen city. The immediate danger that menaced Babylon arose from two severe rebellions, in the course of which the city was twice taken. The first revolt was headed by Nidinta-Bel, B.C. 519, who was slain by Darius at Babylon. The second took place under Arakha, B.C. 514; he was defeated by a general of Darius, named Intaphernes, taken prisoner and crucified. A record of these occurrences is found in Darius's inscription on the rock at Behlstun, translated in 'Records of the Past,' vol. 1. The merciless Persians would doubtless treat the inhabitants of the captured city with their wonted cruelty.

Parallel Commentaries ...

Hebrew
“Get up,
ה֥וֹי (hō·w)
Interjection
Strong's 1945: Ah! alas! ha!

O Zion!
צִיּ֖וֹן (ṣî·yō·wn)
Noun - proper - feminine singular
Strong's 6726: Zion -- a mountain in Jerusalem, also a name for Jerusalem

Escape,
הִמָּלְטִ֑י (him·mā·lə·ṭî)
Verb - Nifal - Imperative - feminine singular
Strong's 4422: To be smooth, to escape, to release, rescue, to bring forth young, emit sparks

you who dwell
יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת (yō·wō·še·ḇeṯ)
Verb - Qal - Participle - feminine singular
Strong's 3427: To sit down, to dwell, to remain, to settle, to marry

with the Daughter
בַּת־ (baṯ-)
Noun - feminine singular construct
Strong's 1323: A daughter

of Babylon.”
בָּבֶֽל׃ (bā·ḇel)
Noun - proper - feminine singular
Strong's 894: Babylon -- an eastern Mediterranean empire and its capital city

Links
Zechariah 2:7 NIV
Zechariah 2:7 NLT
Zechariah 2:7 ESV
Zechariah 2:7 NASB
Zechariah 2:7 KJV

Zechariah 2:7 BibleApps.com
Zechariah 2:7 Biblia Paralela
Zechariah 2:7 Chinese Bible
Zechariah 2:7 French Bible
Zechariah 2:7 Catholic Bible

OT Prophets: Zechariah 2:7 Come Zion!
