clearly the geometrical/topological configuration of the structure. With the matrix, the redundancy of the structure is resolved into redundant components and assigned to each member or rigid joint. The values of the diagonal elements in the matrix indicates the importance of the corresponding members or rigid joints, and the geometrically correlations can be shown with the non-diagonal elements. If a member or rigid joint failures, reassignment of the redundant components can be calculated with the recursive method given in the paper. By combining the indexes of reliability and redundancy components, we define an index concerning the structural robustness. To further explain the properties of the redundancy matrix, we cited several examples of statically indeterminate structures, including two trusses and a rigid frame. With the examples, some simple results and the properties of the matrix are discussed. The examples also illustrate that the redundancy matrix and the relevant concepts are valuable in structural safety analysis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Structural%20Robustness" title="Structural Robustness">Structural Robustness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Structural%20Reliability" title=" Structural Reliability"> Structural Reliability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Redundancy%20Component" title=" Redundancy Component"> Redundancy Component</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Redundancy%20Matrix" title=" Redundancy Matrix"> Redundancy Matrix</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66420/redundancy-component-matrix-and-structural-robustness" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66420.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">272</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Deposition and Properties of PEO Coatings on Zinc-Aluminum Alloys</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linlin%20Wang">Linlin Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Guangdong%20Bian"> Guangdong Bian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jifeng%20Shen"> Jifeng Shen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jingzhu%20Zeng"> Jingzhu Zeng</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Zinc-aluminum alloys have been applied as alternatives to bronze, aluminum alloys, and cast iron due to their distinguishing features such as high as-cast strength, excellent bearing properties, as well as low energy requirements for melting. In this study, oxide coatings were produced on ZA27 zinc-aluminum alloy by a plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) method. Three coatings were deposited by using three various electrolytes, i.e. silicate, aluminate and aluminate/borate composite solutions. The current density is set at 0.1A/cm2, deposition time is 40 mins for all the deposition processes. The surface morphology and phase structure of the three coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Pin-on-disc sliding wear tests were conducted to test the tribological properties of coatings. The results indicated that the coating produced using the aluminate/borate composite electrolyte had the highest deposition rate and best wear resistance among the three coatings. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oxide%20coating" title="oxide coating">oxide coating</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PEO" title=" PEO"> PEO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tribological%20properties" title=" tribological properties"> tribological properties</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ZA27" title=" ZA27"> ZA27</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22895/deposition-and-properties-of-peo-coatings-on-zinc-aluminum-alloys" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22895.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">495</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Observation and Analysis of Urban Micro-Climate and Urban Morphology on Block Scale in Zhengzhou City</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linlin%20Guo">Linlin Guo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Baofeng%20Li"> Baofeng Li</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Zhengzhou is a typical plain city with a high population density and a permanent population of 10 million, located in central China. The scale of this city is constantly expanding, and the urban form has changed dramatically by the accelerating process of urbanization, which makes a great effect on the urban microclimate. In order to study the influence of block morphology on urban micro-climate, air temperature, humidity, wind velocity and so on in three typical types of blocks in the center of Zhengzhou were collected, which was chosen to perform the fixed and mobile observation. After data handling and analysis, a series of graphs and diagrams were obtained to reflect the differences in the influence of different types of block morphology on the urban microclimate. These can provide targeted strategies for urban design to improve and regulate urban micro-climate. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20micro-climate" title="urban micro-climate">urban micro-climate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=block%20morphology" title=" block morphology"> block morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fixed%20and%20mobile%20observation" title=" fixed and mobile observation"> fixed and mobile observation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20design" title=" urban design"> urban design</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92713/observation-and-analysis-of-urban-micro-climate-and-urban-morphology-on-block-scale-in-zhengzhou-city" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/92713.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">240</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Wind Turbine Wake Prediction and Validation under a Stably-Stratified Atmospheric Boundary Layer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yilei%20Song">Yilei Song</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linlin%20Tian"> Linlin Tian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ning%20Zhao"> Ning Zhao</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Turbulence energetics and structures in the wake of large-scale wind turbines under the stably-stratified atmospheric boundary layer (SABL) can be complicated due to the presence of low-level jets (LLJs), a region of higher wind speeds than the geostrophic wind speed. With a modified one-k-equation, eddy viscosity model specified for atmospheric flows as the sub-grid scale (SGS) model, a realistic atmospheric state of the stable ABL is well reproduced by large-eddy simulation (LES) techniques. Corresponding to the precursor stably stratification, the detailed wake properties of a standard 5-MW wind turbine represented as an actuator line model are provided. An engineering model is proposed for wake prediction based on the simulation statistics and gets validated. Results confirm that the proposed wake model can provide good predictions for wind turbines under the SABL. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large-eddy%20simulation" title="large-eddy simulation">large-eddy simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stably-stratified%20atmospheric%20boundary%20layer" title=" stably-stratified atmospheric boundary layer"> stably-stratified atmospheric boundary layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wake%20model" title=" wake model"> wake model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind%20turbine%20wake" title=" wind turbine wake"> wind turbine wake</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/111209/wind-turbine-wake-prediction-and-validation-under-a-stably-stratified-atmospheric-boundary-layer" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/111209.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">174</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Investigation on the Functional Expectation and Professional Support Needs of Special Education Resource Center</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hongxia%20Wang">Hongxia Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yanjie%20Wang"> Yanjie Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiuqin%20Wang"> Xiuqin Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Linlin%20Mo"> Linlin Mo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shuangshuang%20Niu"> Shuangshuang Niu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Special Education Resource Center (SERC) is the localized product in the development of inclusive education in People’s Republic of China, which provides professional support and service for the students with special education needs(SEN) and their parents, teachers as well as inclusive schools. The study investigated 155 administrators, resource teachers and inclusive education teachers from primary and secondary schools in Beijing.
