aircraft operators to provide aviation support services may apply to become BARS Member Organizations (BMO). Membership of the BARS Program is open to any organization that uses contracted outsourced aviation to support their activities. The BAR Standard and BARS for Off Shore Helicopter Operations (BARS-OHO) audit protocols cover core elements within both areas of operation. Specific operational categories such as Medevac, Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Helicopter External Load Operations (HELO) can also be applied across fixed and rotary wing operators. The BARS Program helps provide organizations with added assurance of safety when operations occur in remote and challenging environments.</p> <p>Currently the majority of BMOs in the Program are from the resource sector for whom the Program was developed. With the maturity and flexibility of the BARS Program it has expanded into other sectors including insurance companies, government departments, humanitarian organizations, International Aid and construction support companies.</p> <p>As Aviation is rapidly-expanding in capability and technology, it becomes a challenge for all aviation professionals to stay relevant in this space.
