Online</strong> is the University’s new and exciting online learning initiative, which will offer fully online programs and certificates to learners worldwide. The goal of McGill Online is to create opportunities for learners who, for logistical reasons, would not otherwise be able to study at McGill.</p> <p>This new context for teaching and learning--beyond the classroom and beyond the campus--aligns with the University’s stated goal in the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20180315140309/https://www.mcgill.ca/provost/strategic-academic-plan">Strategic Academic Plan 2017-2022</a> to deliver online degree programs and professional Masters within the next five years.</p> <p>To this end, Teaching and Learning Services was mandated by the Provost to work with academic units to define the programs and certificates best suited to online learning. We are currently working with existing degree programs that are offered on campus, but are also exploring the potential of new programs designed exclusively for McGill Online. Once a program is identified, TLS will work with the academic staff to develop and design the courses.
