Specifically, authors are required to adhere to the ACM Policy and Procedures on Plagiarism and the ACM Policy on Prior Publication and Simultaneous Submissions. . All submissions are subject to the ACM Author Representations policy. Possible violations will be reported to ACM for further investigation. Please see the <a href="https://www.acm.org/publications/policies">ACM Publications Policies</a>.</p> <h3><a href="#submission-format" id="submission-format" class="anchor-link">Submission Format</a></h3> <p>All submissions must be in English and in PDF format. Papers must not exceed the page limits that are listed for each call for papers. The ACM styles have changed recently, and all authors should use the official “ACM Primary Article Template”, as can be obtained from the <a href="https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template">ACM Proceedings Template page</a>. LaTeX users should use the sigconf option, as well as the review (to produce line numbers for easy reference by the reviewers) and anonymous (omitting author names) options. Check in the call for papers whether it is used or not.</p> <p>In order to ensure the fairness of the reviewing process, the ESEC/FSE Technical Track will continue to employ a double-anonymous review process where external reviewers do not know the identity of authors, and authors do not know the identity of external reviewers. The papers submitted must not reveal the authors’ identities in any way:</p> <ul> <li>Authors should leave out author names and affiliations from the body of their submission.</li> <li>Authors should ensure that any citation to related work by themselves is written in third person, that is, “the prior work of XYZ” as opposed to “our prior work”.</li> <li>Authors should not include URLs to author-revealing sites (tools, datasets).</li> <li>You are encouraged to submit a link to a web site or repository containing supplementary material (raw data, datasets, experiments, etc.), as long as it is anonymous. The visit of such sites should not be needed to conduct the review. The program committee will not necessarily consider it in the paper review process. For more information, please read <a href="https://ineed.coffee/post/how-to-disclose-data-for-double-blind-review-and-make-it-archived-open-data-upon-acceptance">How to disclose data for double-anonymous review</a> and make it archived open data upon acceptance. As an alternative to having an external link, the submission form provides an option to attach a replication package.</li> <li>Authors should anonymize author-revealing company names — instead of using company names, they should provide general characteristics of the organizations involved needed to understand the context of the paper.</li> <li>Authors should ensure that paper acknowledgements do not reveal the origin of their work.</li> </ul> <p>The double-anonymous process used this year is “heavy”, i.e., the paper anonymity will be maintained during the reviewers’ discussion period and the authors’ rebuttal period. Authors must therefore maintain the anonymity in their responses during the rebuttal phases, and provide no additional information that would otherwise be author-revealing.</p> <p>Authors with further questions on double-anonymous reviewing are encouraged to contact the program chairs by email.</p> <h3><a href="#accepted-contributions" id="accepted-contributions" class="anchor-link">Accepted Contributions</a></h3> <p>Upon notification of acceptance, all authors of accepted papers will be asked to complete an electronic ACM Copyright form and will receive further instructions for preparing their camera-ready versions. The names and list of authors as well as the title in the camera-ready version cannot be modified from the ones in the submitted version unless there is explicit approval from the track chairs.</p> <p>All accepted contributions will be published in the conference electronic proceedings and in the ACM Digital Library. Note that the official publication date is the date the proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library. This date may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of ESEC/FSE 2022. The official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings related to published work.</p> <p>At least one author of each accepted paper must register and present the paper at ESEC/FSE 2022 in order for the paper to be published in the proceedings. One author registration can cover multiple papers that they have co-authored. Student authors are allowed to register at the student rates to satisfy the registration requirement.
