utility that is capable of generating random numbers. Usually, computer-generated random numbers are not random given predefined values such as starting point and end points, making the sequence almost predictable. There are many applications of random numbers such business simulation, manufacturing, services domain, entertainment sector and other equally areas making worthwhile to design a unique method and to allow unpredictable random numbers. Applying stochastic simulation using linear congruential algorithm, it shows that as it increases the numbers of the seed and range the number randomly produced or selected by the computer becomes unique. If this implemented in an environment where random numbers are very much needed, the reliability of the random number is guaranteed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stochastic%20simulation" title="stochastic simulation">stochastic simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=random%20numbers" title=" random numbers"> random numbers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20congruential%20algorithm" title=" linear congruential algorithm"> linear congruential algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pseudorandomness" title=" pseudorandomness"> pseudorandomness</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/52819/stochastic-simulation-of-random-numbers-using-linear-congruential-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/52819.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">316</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7992</span> Simulation of Gamma Rays Attenuation Coefficient for Some common Shielding Materials Using Monte Carlo Program</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cherief%20Houria">Cherief Houria</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fouka%20Mourad"> Fouka Mourad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this work, the simulation of the radiation attenuation is carried out in a photon detector consisting of different common shielding material using a Monte Carlo program called PTM. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of atomic weight and the thickness of shielding materials on the gamma radiation attenuation ability. The linear attenuation coefficients of Aluminum (Al), Iron (Fe), and lead (Pb) elements were evaluated at photons energy of 661:7KeV that are considered to be emitted from a standard radioactive point source Cs 137. The experimental measurements have been performed for three materials to obtain these linear attenuation coefficients, using a Gamma NaI(Tl) scintillation detector. Our results have been compared with the simulation results of the linear attenuation coefficient using the XCOM database and Geant4 codes and reveal that they are well agreed with both simulation data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gamma%20photon" title="gamma photon">gamma photon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Monte%20Carlo%20program" title=" Monte Carlo program"> Monte Carlo program</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radiation%20attenuation" title=" radiation attenuation"> radiation attenuation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shielding%20material" title=" shielding material"> shielding material</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=the%20linear%20attenuation%20coefficient" title=" the linear attenuation coefficient"> the linear attenuation coefficient</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132610/simulation-of-gamma-rays-attenuation-coefficient-for-some-common-shielding-materials-using-monte-carlo-program" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132610.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7991</span> Resistivity Tomography Optimization Based on Parallel Electrode Linear Back Projection Algorithm</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yiwei%20Huang">Yiwei Huang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chunyu%20Zhao"> Chunyu Zhao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jingjing%20Ding"> Jingjing Ding</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Electrical Resistivity Tomography has been widely used in the medicine and the geology, such as the imaging of the lung impedance and the analysis of the soil impedance, etc. Linear Back Projection is the core algorithm of Electrical Resistivity Tomography, but the traditional Linear Back Projection can not make full use of the information of the electric field. In this paper, an imaging method of Parallel Electrode Linear Back Projection for Electrical Resistivity Tomography is proposed, which generates the electric field distribution that is not linearly related to the traditional Linear Back Projection, captures the new information and improves the imaging accuracy without increasing the number of electrodes by changing the connection mode of the electrodes. The simulation results show that the accuracy of the image obtained by the inverse operation obtained by the Parallel Electrode Linear Back Projection can be improved by about 20%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20resistivity%20tomography" title="electrical resistivity tomography">electrical resistivity tomography</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finite%20element%20simulation" title=" finite element simulation"> finite element simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20optimization" title=" image optimization"> image optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parallel%20electrode%20linear%20back%20projection" title=" parallel electrode linear back projection"> parallel electrode linear back projection</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112189/resistivity-tomography-optimization-based-on-parallel-electrode-linear-back-projection-algorithm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/112189.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">153</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7990</span> Modelling of the Linear Operator in the Representation of the Function of Wave of a Micro Particle</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammedi%20Ferhate">Mohammedi Ferhate</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper deals with the generalized the notion of the function of wave a micro particle moving free, the concept of the linear operator in the representation function delta of Dirac which is a generalization of the symbol of Kronecker to the case of a continuous variation of the sizes concerned with the condition of orthonormation of the Eigen functions the use of linear operators and their Eigen functions in connection with the solution of given differential equations, it is of interest to study the properties of the operators themselves and determine which of them follow purely from the nature of the operators, without reference to specific forms of Eigen functions. Modeling presents a principal technique of predicting the behaviour of the proposed infrastructural designs or management policies. Models can be developed and used to help identify specific alternative plans that best meet those objectives. This study discusses various types of models, their development, architecture, data requirements, and applications in the field of engineering. It also outlines the advantages and limitations of each the optimization and simulation models presented. The techniques explored in this review include; dynamic programming, linear programming, fuzzy optimization, evolutionary algorithms and finally artificial intelligence techniques. Previous studies carried out using some of the techniques mentioned above were reviewed, and most of the results from different researches showed that indeed optimization and simulation provides viable alternatives and predictions which form a basis for decision making in building engineering structures and also in engineering planning and management. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20programming" title="linear programming">linear programming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mutation" title=" mutation"> mutation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization" title=" optimization"> optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simulation" title=" simulation"> simulation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67525/optimization-and-simulation-models-applied-in-engineering-planning-and-management" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67525.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">589</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7988</span> BIM Application and Construction Schedule Simulation for the Horizontal Work Area</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyeon-Seong%20Kim">Hyeon-Seong Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sang-Mi%20Park"> Sang-Mi Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seul-Gi%20Kim"> Seul-Gi Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seon-Ju%20Han"> Seon-Ju Han</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leen-Seok%20Kang"> Leen-Seok Kang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The use of BIM, including 4D CAD system, in a construction project is gradually increasing. Since the building construction works repeatedly in the vertical space, it is relatively easy to confirm the interference effect when applying the BIM, but the interference effect for the civil engineering project is relatively small because the civil works perform non-repetitive processes in the horizontal space. For this reason, it is desirable to apply BIM to the construction phase when applying BIM to the civil engineering project, and the most active BIM tool applied to the construction phase is the 4D CAD function for the schedule management. This paper proposes the application procedure of BIM by the construction phase of civil engineering project and a linear 4D CAD construction methodology suitable for the civil engineering project in which linear work is performed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BIM" title="BIM">BIM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=4D%20CAD" title=" 4D CAD"> 4D CAD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%204D%20simulation" title=" linear 4D simulation"> linear 4D simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=VR" title=" VR"> VR</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83745/bim-application-and-construction-schedule-simulation-for-the-horizontal-work-area" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83745.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">400</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7987</span> Non-Linear Control in Positioning of PMLSM by Estimates of the Load Force by MRAS Method </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maamar%20Yahiaoui">Maamar Yahiaoui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdelrrahmene%20Kechich"> Abdelrrahmene Kechich</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ismail%20Elkhallile%20Bousserhene"> Ismail Elkhallile Bousserhene</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This article presents a study in simulation by means of MATLAB/Simulink software of the nonlinear control in positioning of a linear synchronous machine with the esteemed force of load, to have effective control in the estimator in all tests the wished trajectory follows and the disturbance of load start. In spatial statistics, the conventional variogram fitting procedure (non-linear weighted least squares) suffers from the same outlier problem that has plagued this method from its inception. Even a 3-parameter model, like the variogram, can be adversely affected by a single outlier. This paper uses the Hogg-Type adaptive procedures to select an optimal score function for a rank-based estimator for these non-linear models. Numeric examples and simulation studies will demonstrate the robustness, utility, efficiency, and validity of these estimates. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=asymptotic%20relative%20efficiency" title="asymptotic relative efficiency">asymptotic relative efficiency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-linear%20rank-based" title=" non-linear rank-based"> non-linear rank-based</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rank%20estimates" title=" rank estimates"> rank estimates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variogram" title=" variogram"> variogram</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43980/robust-variogram-fitting-using-non-linear-rank-based-estimators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43980.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">431</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7983</span> Control of a Stewart Platform for Minimizing Impact Energy in Simulating Spacecraft Docking Operations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leonardo%20Herrera">Leonardo Herrera</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shield%20B.%20Lin"> Shield B. The study conducted in this paper examines the influence of temperature on the performance of the permeant magnet linear generator, an integral and pivotal component within the system. This research places particular emphasis on the Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) permanent magnet, which serves as a source of magnetic field for the linear generator. In this study, an internal combustion engine that tends to produce heat is connected to a generator. Considering the temperatures rise from both the combustion process and the thermal contributions of current-carrying conductors and frictional forces. Utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method, a thermal model of the (NdFeB) magnet within the linear generator is constructed and analyzed. Furthermore, the temperature field is examined to ensure that the linear generator operates under stable conditions without the risk of demagnetization. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=free%20piston%20engine" title="free piston engine">free piston engine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=permanent%20magnet" title=" permanent magnet"> permanent magnet</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20generator" title=" linear generator"> linear generator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=demagnetization" title=" demagnetization"> demagnetization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=simulation" title=" simulation"> simulation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185409/temperature-rises-characteristics-of-distinct-double-sided-flat-permanent-magnet-linear-generator-for-free-piston-engines-for-hybrid-vehicles" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185409.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">56</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7980</span> Physical Habitat Simulation and Comparison within a Lerma River Reach, with Respect to the Same but Modified Reach, to Create a Linear Park</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Garcia-Rodriguez%20Ezequiel">Garcia-Rodriguez Ezequiel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luis%20A.%20Ochoa-Franco"> Luis A. To determine the effect of ecological park construction, on physical habitat of the Lerma river stretch of study, first, the available habitat for the Ictalurus punctatus species was estimated through the simulation of the physical habitat, by using surveying, hydraulics, and habitat information gotten at the river reach in its actual situation. Second, it was estimated the available habitat for the above species, upon the simulation of the physical habitat through the proposed modification for the ecological park creation. Third, it is presented a comparison between both scenarios in terms of available habitat estimated for Ictalurus punctatus species, concluding that in cases of adult and spawning life stages, changes in the channel to create an ecological park would produce a considerable loss of potentially usable habitat (PUH), while in the case of the juvenile life stage PUH remains virtually unchanged, and in the case of life stage fry the PUH would increase due to the presence of velocities and depths of lesser magnitude, due to the presence of minor flow rates and lower volume of the wet channel. It is expected that habitat modification for linear park construction may produce the lack of Ictalurus punktatus species conservation at the river reach of the study. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Habitat%20modification" title="Habitat modification">Habitat modification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ictalurus%20punctatus" title=" Ictalurus punctatus"> Ictalurus punctatus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lerma" title=" Lerma"> Lerma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=river" title=" river"> river</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear%20park" title=" linear park"> linear park</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29239/physical-habitat-simulation-and-comparison-within-a-lerma-river-reach-with-respect-to-the-same-but-modified-reach-to-create-a-linear-park" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29239.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">475</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7979</span> On the Construction of Some Optimal Binary Linear Codes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Skezeer%20John%20B.%20Paz">Skezeer John B. A binary linear code C = [n, k, d] is called optimal if there is no linear code with higher minimum distance d given the length n and the dimension k. There are bounds giving limits for the minimum distance d of a linear code of fixed length n and dimension k. The lower bound which can be taken by construction process tells that there is a known linear code having this minimum distance. The upper bound is given by theoretic results such as Griesmer bound. One way to find an optimal binary linear code is to make the lower bound of d equal to its higher bound. That is, to construct a binary linear code which achieves the highest possible value of its minimum distance d, given n and k. Some optimal binary linear codes were presented by Andries Brouwer in his published table on bounds of the minimum distance d of binary linear codes for 1 ≤ n ≤ 256 and k ≤ n. This was further improved by Markus Grassl by giving a detailed construction process for each code exhibiting the lower bound. In this paper, we construct new optimal binary linear codes by using some construction processes on existing binary linear codes. Particularly, we developed an algorithm applied to the codes already constructed to extend the list of optimal binary linear codes up to 257 ≤ n ≤ 300 for k ≤ 7. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bounds%20of%20linear%20codes" title="bounds of linear codes">bounds of linear codes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Griesmer%20bound" title=" Griesmer bound"> Griesmer bound</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=construction%20of%20linear%20codes" title=" construction of linear codes"> construction of linear codes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimal%20binary%20linear%20codes" title=" optimal binary linear codes"> optimal binary linear codes</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31628/on-the-construction-of-some-optimal-binary-linear-codes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31628.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">755</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7978</span> Parameterized Lyapunov Function Based Robust Diagonal Dominance Pre-Compensator Design for Linear Parameter Varying Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiaobao%20Han">Xiaobao Han</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Huacong%20Li"> Huacong Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jia%20Li"> Jia Li</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> For dynamic decoupling of linear parameter varying system, a robust dominance pre-compensator design method is given. Some elderly people are unable to stand up without the assistance of a caregiver. They may become unconscious after a fall, which can lead to serious aftereffects such as hypothermia, dehydration, and sometimes even death. We treat the subject as an inverted pendulum and model its angle from the equilibrium position and its angular velocity. As the model is non-linear, we implement the filtering method with a particle filter which can estimate true states of the non-linear model. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the particle filter estimation results, we calculate the root mean square error (RMSE) between the estimated angle/angular velocity and the true values generated by the simulation. The experimental results give the highest accuracy RMSE of 0.0141 rad and 0.1311 rad/s for the angle and angular velocity, respectively. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fall" title="fall">fall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microwave%20Doppler%20sensor" title=" microwave Doppler sensor"> microwave Doppler sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-linear%20dynamics%20model" title=" non-linear dynamics model"> non-linear dynamics model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=particle%20filter" title=" particle filter"> particle filter</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75901/particle-filter-implementation-of-a-non-linear-dynamic-fall-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/75901.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">212</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7972</span> Coding Structures for Seated Row Simulation of an Active Controlled Vibration Isolation and Stabilization System for Astronaut’s Exercise Platform</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ziraguen%20O.%20Williams">Ziraguen O. Feedback delay and signal noise were added to the model as previously done in simulation for squat exercise. Simulation runs for this study were conducted in two software simulation tools, Trick and MBDyn, software simulation environments developed at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The exciter force in the simulation was calculated from the motion capture of an exerciser during a seated row exercise. The simulation runs include passive control, active control using a Proportional, Integral, Derivative (PID) controller, and active control using a Piecewise Linear Integral Derivative (PWLID) controller. Output parameters include displacements of the exercise platform, the exerciser, and the counterweight; transmitted force to the wall of spacecraft; and actuator force to the platform. The simulation results showed excellent force reduction in the actively controlled system compared to the passive controlled system, which showed less force reduction. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=control" title="control">control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=counterweight" title=" counterweight"> counterweight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=isolation" title=" isolation"> isolation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vibration." title=" vibration."> vibration.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154195/coding-structures-for-seated-row-simulation-of-an-active-controlled-vibration-isolation-and-stabilization-system-for-astronauts-exercise-platform" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154195.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">140</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7971</span> Extension of Positive Linear Operator</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manal%20Azzidani">Manal Azzidani</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This research consideres the extension of special functions called Positive Linear Operators. the bounded linear operator which defined from normed space to Banach space will extend to the closure of the its domain, And extend identified linear functional on a vector subspace by Hana-Banach theorem which could be generalized to the positive linear operators. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extension" title="extension">extension</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=positive%20operator" title=" positive operator"> positive operator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Riesz%20space" title=" Riesz space"> Riesz space</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sublinear%20function" title=" sublinear function"> sublinear function</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33220/extension-of-positive-linear-operator" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/33220.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">517</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7970</span> Multiple Relaxation Times in the Gibbs Ensemble Monte Carlo Simulation of Phase Separation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bina%20Kumari">Bina Kumari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Subir%20K.%20Sarkar"> Subir K. Multilevel inverter has elevated voltage capability with voltage limited devices, low harmonic distortion, abridged switching losses. These increases cause bed occupancy rates to exceed the target level (85%) set by the Department of Health in England. Therefore, hospital service managers are struggling to better manage key resource such as beds. On the other hand, this severe demand pressure might lead to confusion in wards. For example, patients can be admitted to the ward of another inpatient specialty due to lack of resources (i.e., bed). This study aims to develop a simulation-optimization model to reallocate the available number of beds in a mid-sized hospital in the UK. A hospital simulation model was developed to capture the stochastic behaviours of the hospital by taking into account the accident and emergency department, all outpatient and inpatient services, and the interactions between each other. A couple of outputs of the simulation model (e.g., average length of stay and revenue) were generated as inputs to be used in the optimization model. An integer linear programming was developed under a number of constraints (financial, demand, target level of bed occupancy rate and staffing level) with the aims of maximizing number of admitted patients. In addition, a sensitivity analysis was carried out by taking into account unexpected increases on inpatient demand over the next 12 months. As a result, the major findings of the approach proposed in this study optimally reallocate the available number of beds for each inpatient speciality and reveal that 74 beds are idle. In addition, the findings of the study indicate that the hospital wards will be able to cope with 14% demand increase at most in the projected year. In conclusion, this paper sheds a new light on how best to reallocate beds in order to cope with current and future demand for healthcare services. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bed%20occupancy%20rate" title="bed occupancy rate">bed occupancy rate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bed%20reallocation" title=" bed reallocation"> bed reallocation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=discrete%20event%20simulation" title=" discrete event simulation"> discrete event simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inpatient%20admissions" title=" inpatient admissions"> inpatient admissions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=integer%20linear%20programming" title=" integer linear programming"> integer linear programming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=projected%20usage" title=" projected usage"> projected usage</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101798/reallocation-of-bed-capacity-in-a-hospital-combining-discrete-event-simulation-and-integer-linear-programming" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101798.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">144</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7964</span> Using Simulation Modeling Approach to Predict USMLE Steps 1 and 2 Performances</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chau-Kuang%20Chen">Chau-Kuang Chen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=John%20Hughes"> John Hughes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jr."> Jr.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Dexter%20Samuels"> A.
