If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.</span></p></div><p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p>Wing is looking for a <strong>Hardware Reliability Manager</strong> to join our <strong>Design for Excellence (DFX)</strong> team based in <strong>Palo Alto, CA</strong>. This role will lead the team and function that is critical in ensuring the reliability and robustness of our hardware products throughout their entire lifecycle. This individual will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive reliability testing programs, conduct failure analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and durability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hardware reliability principles, experience with various testing methodologies (including Ongoing Reliability Testing), and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do: </strong></p> <p>You will be responsible for leading the full scope of hardware reliability engineering at Wing, from designing and executing test plans, to conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions. You will use your expertise to analyze data, identify failure trends, and collaborate with design engineers to improve product reliability. You will develop and implement the strategic plan for expanding hardware reliability at Wing, as well as lead & manage a team of reliability engineers, failure analysis engineers, and technicians.</p> <p><strong>Reliability Testing and Qualification:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute test plans for new and existing hardware, including environmental testing, stress testing, accelerated life testing, and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).</li> <li>Define and implement reliability test standards and procedures.</li> <li>Analyze test data, identify failure modes, and generate comprehensive reliability reports.</li> <li>Collaborate with design engineers to improve product reliability based on test results and failure analysis.</li> <li>Apply best practices and industry standards to test, iterate, and improve novel hardware solutions.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Failure Analysis and Root Cause Investigation:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct thorough failure analysis of hardware components and systems.</li> <li>Scoping & triaging failure analysis work needed at Wing, deciding where to build internal capabilities or vet 3rd party support</li> <li>Develop corrective actions and preventive measures to address identified failure modes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reliability Engineering and Analysis:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply reliability engineering principles and methodologies (FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis) to assess and predict hardware component reliability, working closely with systems engineering teams. </li> <li>Collaborate with design engineers to implement design for reliability (DfR) principles.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) & Field Reliability:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and manage ORT programs to continuously monitor product reliability.</li> <li>Support the operational analysis team to collect and analyze field data, identify trends, implement corrective actions, and provide input into design changes to improve reliability</li> </ul> <p><strong>Team Leadership:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, failure analysis engineers, and technicians.</li> <li>Grow the team, including identifying and hiring new team members to fulfill needed skills</li> <li>Foster a collaborative work environment and promote knowledge sharing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Need: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in Reliability Engineering or a related field is a plus.</li> <li>12+ years of experience in hardware reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
