opportunity</strong></h3> <p>In the framework of the <a href="https://www.bsfs-piraeus.eu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BeSecure-FeelSecure</a> (BSFS) project, Efus organises a series of webconferences to any interested local and regional authorities and urban security practitioners to disseminate the project’s innovative practices and provide some recommendations and suggestions on how to adapt them to other urban contexts.</p> <p>The key topics of the webconferences were built around the thematic axes of the BSFS project namely:</p> <ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Urban security audits – baseline assessments</li><li>Urban security governance structures like the local crime prevention council </li><li>Innovative ICT tools aiming to enhance social cohesion</li><li>Victim support practices</li></ul> <p></p> <p>The webconferences were organised and moderated by the Efus Team and took place between March and September 2022.</p> <p>Besides providing an opportunity for the dissemination of the BSFS innovative practices, like its baseline assessment methodology and outcomes, the Local Council for Crime Prevention (LCCP), the Collaborative Urban Risk Assessment ICT Tool (CURiM) and Piraeus’ Victim Support Unit, these online events also provided the participants with an opportunity to learn from other peer practices as well.</p> <p>Thus, with regards to baseline urban security assessments, we had the chance to hear about the <a href="https://safetipin.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Safetipin</a> application that has a specific gender lense as to urban security audit walks, for instance. When it came to the different governance structures, participants could learn about the Local Security and Crime Prevention Council of the City of Montreuil (France). As to the ICT tools that enhance social cohesion, we had the chance to exchange with the representatives of the <a href="https://tonite.eu/en/project/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ToNite project,</a> implemented in the City of Turin (Italy).
