class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We investigate the Nikolaevskiy equation numerically using exponential time differencing method and pseudo-spectral method. This equation develops a long-wavelength modulation that behaves as a Nambu–Goldstone mode, and short-wavelength instability and exhibit turbulence. Using the autocorrelation analysis, the statistical properties of the turbulence governed by the equation are investigated. The autocorrelation then has been fitted with The Kohlrausch– Williams–Watts (KWW) expression. By varying the control parameter, we show a transition from compressed to stretched exponential for the auto-correlation function of Nikolaevskiy turbulence. The compressed exponential is an indicator of the existence of dynamical heterogeneity while the stretched indicates aging process. Thereby, we revealed the existence of dynamical heterogeneity and aging in the turbulence governed by Nikolaevskiy equation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compressed%20exponential" title="compressed exponential">compressed exponential</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamical%20heterogeneity" title=" dynamical heterogeneity"> dynamical heterogeneity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nikolaevskiy%20equation" title=" Nikolaevskiy equation"> Nikolaevskiy equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stretched%20exponential" title=" stretched exponential"> stretched exponential</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=turbulence" title=" turbulence"> turbulence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48908/dynamical-heterogeneity-and-aging-in-turbulence-with-a-nambu-goldstone-mode" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48908.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">436</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Competitive Adsorption of Al, Ga and In by Gamma Irradiation Induced Pectin-Acrylamide-(Vinyl Phosphonic Acid) Hydrogel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Md%20Murshed%20Bhuyan">Md Murshed Bhuyan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hirotaka%20Okabe"> Hirotaka Okabe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiki%20Hidaka"> Yoshiki Hidaka</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kazuhiro%20Hara"> Kazuhiro Hara</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Pectin-Acrylamide- (Vinyl Phosphonic Acid) Hydrogels were prepared from their blend by using gamma radiation of various doses. It was found that the gel fraction of hydrogel increases with increasing the radiation dose reaches a maximum and then started decreasing with increasing the dose. The optimum radiation dose and the composition of raw materials were determined on the basis of equilibrium swelling which resulted in 20 kGy absorbed dose and 1:2:4 (Pectin:AAm:VPA) composition. Differential scanning calorimetry reveals the gel strength for using them as the adsorbent. The FTIR-spectrum confirmed the grafting/ crosslinking of the monomer on the backbone of pectin chain. The hydrogels were applied in adsorption of Al, Ga, and In from multielement solution where the adsorption capacity order for those three elements was found as – In>Ga>Al. SEM images of hydrogels and metal adsorbed hydrogels indicate the gel network and adherence of the metal ions in the interpenetrating network of the hydrogel which were supported by EDS spectra. The adsorption isotherm models were studied and found that the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model was well fitted with the data. Adsorption data were also fitted to different adsorption kinetic and diffusion models. Desorption of metal adsorbed hydrogels was performed in 5% nitric acid where desorption efficiency was found around 90%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydrogel" title="hydrogel">hydrogel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gamma%20radiation" title=" gamma radiation"> gamma radiation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vinyl%20phosphonic%20acid" title=" vinyl phosphonic acid"> vinyl phosphonic acid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metal%20adsorption" title=" metal adsorption"> metal adsorption</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94101/competitive-adsorption-of-al-ga-and-in-by-gamma-irradiation-induced-pectin-acrylamide-vinyl-phosphonic-acid-hydrogel" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94101.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">152</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> An Analysis of Learners’ Reports for Measuring Co-Creational Education</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Takatoshi%20Ishii">Takatoshi Ishii</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koji%20Kimita"> Koji Kimita</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Keiichi%20Muramatsu"> Keiichi Muramatsu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiki%20Shimomura"> Yoshiki Shimomura</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> To increase the quality of learning, teacher and learner need mutual effort for realization of educational value. Weather phenomena, especially jet streams, are relatively permanent high winds blowing from west to east, located at average altitudes and latitudes in both hemispheres. To continuously extract energy from the jet-stream, the system is composed of a propelled plane and a wind turbine interconnected by a cable. This work presents the aerodynamic characteristics and the behavior of the cable that links the two subsystems and transmits energy from the turbine to the aircraft. Two ways of solving this problem are explored: numerically and analytically. After obtaining the optimal shape of the cross-section of the cable, its behavior is analyzed as a 2D problem solved numerically and analytically. Finally, a 3D extension could be considered by adding lateral forces. The results of this work can be further used in the design process of the overall system: aircraft-turbine. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=jet-stream" title="jet-stream">jet-stream</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cable" title=" cable"> cable</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tether" title=" tether"> tether</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aerodynamics" title=" aerodynamics"> aerodynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aircraft" title=" aircraft"> aircraft</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=airsail" title=" airsail"> airsail</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wind" title=" wind"> wind</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11611/jet-stream-airsail-study-of-the-shape-and-the-behavior-of-the-connecting-cable" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/11611.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">370</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Theoretical Investigation on the Dynamic Characteristics of One Degree of Freedom Vibration System Equipped with Inerter of Variable Inertance</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Barenten%20Suciu">Barenten Suciu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiki%20Tsuji"> Yoshiki Tsuji</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a theoretical investigation on the dynamic characteristics of one degree of freedom vibration system equipped with inerter of variable inertance, is presented. Differential equation of movement was solved under proper initial conditions in the case of free undamped/damped vibration, considered in the absence/presence of the inerter in the mechanical system. Influence of inertance on the amplitude of vibration, phase angle, natural frequency, damping ratio, and logarithmic decrement was clarified. It was mainly found that the inerter decreases the natural frequency of the undamped system and also of the damped system if the damping ratio is below 0.707. On the other hand, the inerter increases the natural frequency of the damped system if the damping ratio exceeds 0.707. Results obtained in this work are useful for the adequate design of inerters. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=damping" title="damping">damping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency%20control" title=" frequency control"> frequency control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inerter" title=" inerter"> inerter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=one%20degree%20of%20freedom%20vibration%20system" title=" one degree of freedom vibration system"> one degree of freedom vibration system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parallel%20connection" title=" parallel connection"> parallel connection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variable%20inertance" title=" variable inertance"> variable inertance</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65507/theoretical-investigation-on-the-dynamic-characteristics-of-one-degree-of-freedom-vibration-system-equipped-with-inerter-of-variable-inertance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/65507.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">324</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Improved Network Construction Methods Based on Virtual Rails for Mobile Sensor Network</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noritaka%20Shigei">Noritaka Shigei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kazuto%20Matsumoto"> Kazuto Matsumoto</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiki%20Nakashima"> Yoshiki Nakashima</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hiromi%20Miyajima"> Hiromi Miyajima</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Although Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSNs), which consist of mobile sensor nodes (MSNs), can cover a wide range of observation region by using a small number of sensor nodes, they need to construct a network to collect the sensing data on the base station by moving the MSNs. As an effective method, the network construction method based on Virtual Rails (VRs), which is referred to as VR method, has been proposed. In this paper, we propose two types of effective techniques for the VR method. They can prolong the operation time of the network, which is limited by the battery capabilities of MSNs and the energy consumption of MSNs. The first technique, an effective arrangement of VRs, almost equalizes the number of MSNs belonging to each VR. The second technique, an adaptive movement method of MSNs, takes into account the residual energy of battery. In the simulation, we demonstrate that each technique can improve the network lifetime and the combination of both techniques is the most effective. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mobile%20sensor%20node" title="mobile sensor node">mobile sensor node</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=relay%20of%20sensing%20data" title=" relay of sensing data"> relay of sensing data</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20energy" title=" residual energy"> residual energy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20rail" title=" virtual rail"> virtual rail</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wireless%20sensor%20network" title=" wireless sensor network"> wireless sensor network</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42575/improved-network-construction-methods-based-on-virtual-rails-for-mobile-sensor-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42575.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">330</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> A Method for Consensus Building between Teachers and Learners in a Value Co-Creative Learning Service</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ryota%20Sugino">Ryota Sugino</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Satoshi%20Mizoguchi"> Satoshi Mizoguchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koji%20Kimita"> Koji Kimita</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Keiichi%20Muramatsu"> Keiichi Muramatsu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tatsunori%20Matsui"> Tatsunori Matsui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yoshiki%20Shimomura"> Yoshiki Shimomura</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Improving added value and productivity of services entails improving both value-in-exchange and value-in-use. Value-in-use is realized by value co-creation, where providers and receivers create value together. In higher education services, value-in-use comes from learners achieving learning outcomes (e.g., knowledge and skills) that are consistent with their learning goals. To enhance the learning outcomes of a learner, it is necessary to enhance and utilize the abilities of the teacher along with the abilities of the learner. To do this, however, the learner and the teacher need to build a consensus about their respective roles. Teachers need to provide effective learning content; learners need to choose the appropriate learning strategies by using the learning content through consensus building. This makes consensus building an important factor in value co-creation. However, methods to build a consensus about their respective roles may not be clearly established, making such consensus difficult. In this paper, we propose some strategies for consensus building between a teacher and a learner in value co-creation. We focus on a teacher and learner co-design and propose an analysis method to clarify a collaborative design process to realize value co-creation. We then analyze some counseling data obtained from a university class.
