He has also<MH1571> set<MH5414> eternity<MH5769> in their heart<MH3820>, without<MH1097, 834, 3808> <i>the possibility that</i> mankind<MH120> will find<MH4672> out<MH4672> the work<MH4639> which<MH834> God<MH430> has done<MH6213a> from the beginning<MH7218> even to the end<MH5490>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>I know<MH3045> that there<MH369> is<MH369> nothing<MH369> better<MH2896a> for them than<MH3588, 518> to rejoice<MH8055> and to do<MH6213a> good<MH2896b> in one’s lifetime<MH2425b>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>moreover<MH1571>, that every<MH3605> person<MH120> who<MH7945> eats<MH398> and drinks<MH8354> sees<MH7200> good<MH2896b> in all<MH3605> his labor<MH5999>—this is the gift<MH4991> of God<MH430>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>I know<MH3045> that everything<MH3605, 834> God<MH430> does<MH6213a> will remain<MH1961> forever<MH5769>; there<MH369> is<MH369> nothing<MH369> to add<MH3254> to it and there<MH369> is<MH369> nothing<MH369> to take<MH1639> from it. And God<MH430> has <i>so</i> worked<MH6213a>, that <i>people</i> will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>fear<MH3372> Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>That <i>which is,</i> is what<MH4100> has already<MH3528> been<MH1961>, and that which<MH834> will be has already<MH3528> been<MH1961>; and God<MH430> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>seeks<MH1245> what has passed<MH7291> by<MH7291>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Furthermore<MH5750>, I have seen<MH7200> under<MH8478> the sun<MH8121> <i>that</i> in<MH8478> the place<MH4725> of justice<MH4941> there<MH8033> is wickedness<MH7562> and in the place<MH4725> of righteousness<MH6664> there<MH8033> is wickedness<MH7562>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>I said<MH559> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>to myself<MH3820>, “God<MH430> will judge<MH8199> the righteous<MH6662> and the wicked<MH7563>,” for a time<MH6256> for every<MH3605> matter<MH2656> and for every<MH3605> deed<MH4639> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>is there<MH8033>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>I said<MH559> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>to myself<MH3820> regarding<MH5921, 1700> the sons<MH1121> of mankind<MH120>, “God<MH430> is testing<MH1305> them in order for them to see<MH7200> that they are <i>as</i> animals<MH929>, they to themselves.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>For the fate<MH4745> of the sons<MH1121> of mankind<MH120> and the fate<MH4745> of animals<MH929> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>is the same<MH259>. As one<MH2088> dies<MH4194>, so<MH3651> dies<MH4194> the other<MH2088>; indeed, they all<MH3605> have the same<MH259> breath<MH7307>, and there<MH369> is<MH369> no<MH369> advantage<MH4195> for mankind<MH120> over<MH4480> animals<MH929>, for all<MH3605> is futility<MH1892>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ecclesiastes/3-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>All<MH3605> go<MH1980> to the same<MH259> place<MH4725>.
