The call erased Stanford's recovery of the muffed punt and allowed Notre Dame to keep possession. The Irish scored to take a 21-7 lead into the half.</p> <p>At the time the call was made, Harbaugh was visibly angry, going on the field to yell at officials and throwing his hat in frustration. After the game, in unsolicited comments, he said, "It's hard to imagine people don't know football any better than that."</p> <p>Harbaugh was reprimanded by the Pac-10 for going public with his complaint. Stanford director of media relations Jim Young said Harbaugh would have no comment Monday.</p> <p> The last time a Pac-10 coach in any sport received a public reprimand was then-Stanford basketball coach Mike Montgomery in 2003. </p> <p>"Pac-10 rules prohibit comments by a coach about officiating other than to the conference office," Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen said in a statement released Monday afternoon. </p> <p>Hansen said in his statement that the officials, a Pac-10 crew, made the right call.</p> <p>"Pac-10 officials have reviewed video of the play, and it is apparent the Stanford player covering the punt impeded the Notre Dame player attempting to catch it.</p> <p>"The call was correct."</p> <p>Harbaugh publicly has been critical of officials on more than one occasion this year.
