LORD JEHOVAH Almighty is his name<p> <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>The first things that are from the beginning I have shown, and they went out of my mouth, also I made heard to you, and I act suddenly and they happen<p> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>I know that you are hard and your neck sinew is of iron, and your forehead is brass<p> <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>I have shown you from former time, and before they would come I made you hear, lest you would say, “My idols have done it, and my carvings and my molten things have saved me!”<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>You have heard and you saw all these things and will you not show them? I made you hear that from now new things are kept, and you had not known<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And from now they are created and not from former time; from before the day you had not heard them, lest you would say, "I know them"<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>You have not heard neither do you know them, and from former time your ears were not opened. I know that you surely lie and you were called evil from the womb<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>Because of my name I shall soften my anger, and my glory I shall keep for you and I shall not destroy you<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Behold, I have purified you, and not with silver, and I have proven you in the furnace of poverty<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>For my sake I shall make what is undefiled, and I shall not give my honor to another<p> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>Hear me Yaqob, and Israel whom I called. I AM The First and I AM The Last<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And my hand has constructed the foundations of The Earth, and my right hand has stretched out the Heavens. LORD JEHOVAH loves him who will do his pleasure in Babel and in the land and with the seed of The Chaldeans<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>I have spoken, I also cried and I brought him and I made his way prosperous<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Come to me and hear this, because from the origin I have not spoken in a secret place, and from the time that it was, there I am, and now LORD JEHOVAH God has sent me and his Spirit. <p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>Thus says LORD JEHOVAH your Savior, The Holy One of Israel: “I LORD JEHOVAH your God teach you that you shall do no evil, and I show you the way that you will go in it<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>But, oh, that you had listened to my commands, and your peace had been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea!<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And your seed was as the sand, and the offspring of your womb as its pebbles, and it would not end, and its name would not be destroyed from before me<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/isaiah/48-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>Go out from Babel! Flee from the Chaldeans!
