interior-ct border"> <section class="artInfo"> <div class="enews"> </div> <article class="art-ct"> <h1>Join NANN on the 2025 Delegation to Sweden</h1> <p>NANN has developed a delegation to visit Stockholm, Sweden, for a high-level, in-depth international exchange. Sweden leads the world in reducing neonatal mortality, at 1.8 per thousand per live birth in 2021, and a 20% reduction in infant mortality over the last ten years. The goal of this delegation is to observe and learn about the programs, methods, and unique approaches to increasing survival rates for neonates. The NANN Delegation will commence in Stockholm from February 2, 2025-February 7, 2025. The 2025 delegation will be led by NANN President Taryn Edwards.</p> <p><strong>The deadline to apply for the Delegation to Sweden closes on December 1, 2024.</strong></p> <p>Topics for Discussion:</p> <ol> <li>United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (3.1, 3.2, 3.7, 3.C)<ol type="a"> <li><strong>3.1 </strong>By 2030, reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births.</li> <li><strong>3.2 </strong>By 2030, end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age, with all countries aiming to reduce neonatal mortality to at least as low as 12 per 1,000 live births and under-5 mortality to at least as low as 25 per 1,000 live births.</li> <li><strong>3.7 </strong>By 2030, ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including for family planning, information and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programs.</li> <li><strong>3.C </strong>Substantially increase health financing and the recruitment, development, training and retention of the health workforce in developing countries, especially in least developed countries and small island developing States.</li> </ol></li> <li>Care model practices in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit</li> <li>Role of the parents in care of their infant (i.e. family centered care, visitation policy, human milk and breastfeeding rates, skin-to-skin care rates, etc.)</li> <li>Nursing education and preparation for practice in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit</li> <li>Access to care for patients outside of urban areas</li> </ol> <p>The estimated cost per delegate is $5,600 USD. This includes all activities, both professional and cultural, as specified in the preliminary schedule of activities, ground transportation, accommodations, most meals, and essentially all other costs associated with participation.
