class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> People often worry about their elderly family members who are living by themselves or staying alone somewhere. An intelligent watch-over system for such elderly people, using a Raspberry Pi IoT device, has been newly developed to monitor those who live or stay separately from their families and alert them if a problem occurs. The system consists of motion sensors and temperature-humidity combined sensors that are located at seven points within an elderly person's home. The intelligent algorithms of the system detect signs and the possibility of unhealthy situations arising for the elderly relative; e.g., an unusually long bathing time, or a visit to a restroom, too high a room temperature, etc., by using data cached by the sensors above, at seven points within their house. The system gives more consideration to the elderly person's privacy, by using the sensors above, instead of using cameras and microphones placed around the house. The system invented and described here, can send a Twitter direct message to designated family members when an elderly relative is possibly in an unhealthy condition. Thus the system helps decrease family members' anxieties regarding their elderly relatives and increases their sense of security. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elderly%20person" title="elderly person">elderly person</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IoT%20device" title=" IoT device"> IoT device</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raspberry%20Pi" title=" Raspberry Pi"> Raspberry Pi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=watch-over%20system" title=" watch-over system"> watch-over system</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83092/an-intelligent-watch-over-system-using-an-iot-device-for-elderly-people-living-by-themselves" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83092.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">223</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> A Quantification Method of Attractiveness of Stations and an Estimation Method of Number of Passengers Taking into Consideration the Attractiveness of the Station</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Naoya%20Ozaki">Naoya Ozaki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Takuya%20Watanabe"> Takuya Watanabe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ryosuke%20Matsumoto"> Ryosuke Matsumoto</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noriko%20Fukasawa"> Noriko Fukasawa</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the metropolitan areas in Japan, in many stations, shopping areas are set up, and escalators and elevators are installed to make the stations be barrier-free. Further, many areas around the stations are being redeveloped. Railway business operators want to know how much effect these circumstances have on attractiveness of the station or number of passengers using the station. So, we performed a questionnaire survey of the station users in the metropolitan areas for finding factors to affect the attractiveness of stations. Then, based on the analysis of the survey, we developed a method to quantitatively evaluate attractiveness of the stations. We also developed an estimation method for number of passengers based on combination of attractiveness of the station quantitatively evaluated and the residential and labor population around the station. Then, we derived precise linear regression models estimating the attractiveness of the station and number of passengers of the station. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=attractiveness%20of%20the%20station" title="attractiveness of the station">attractiveness of the station</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=estimation%20method" title=" estimation method"> estimation method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=number%20of%20passengers%20of%20the%20station" title=" number of passengers of the station"> number of passengers of the station</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=redevelopment%20around%20the%20station" title=" redevelopment around the station"> redevelopment around the station</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=renovation%20of%20the%20station" title=" renovation of the station"> renovation of the station</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56406/a-quantification-method-of-attractiveness-of-stations-and-an-estimation-method-of-number-of-passengers-taking-into-consideration-the-attractiveness-of-the-station" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56406.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">287</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Effect of Silver Diamine Fluoride on Reducing Fungal Adhesion on Dentin</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rima%20Zakzouk">Rima Zakzouk</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noriko%20Hiraishi"> Noriko Hiraishi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Mahdi%20Alshahni"> Mohamed Mahdi Alshahni</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koichi%20Makimura"> Koichi Makimura</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Junji%20Tagami"> Junji Tagami</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background and Purpose: Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is used to prevent and arrest dental caries. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of SDF on reducing Candida albicans adhesion on dentin. Materials and Methods: Bovine dentin disks (6×6 mm) were cut by Isomet and polished using grit silicon carbide papers down to 2000 in order to obtain flat dentin surfaces. Samples were divided into two groups. The first group (SDF group) was treated with 38% SDF for 3 min, while the other group (control group) did not undergo SDF treatment. All samples were exposed to C. albicans suspension, washed after 6 hours incubation at 30 °C before to be tested using XTT (2,3-Bis-(2-Methoxy-4-Nitro-5-Sulfophenyl)-2H-Tetrazolium-5-Carboxanilide) and real time PCR approaches. Statistical analyses of the results were performed at the significance level α = 0.05. Results: SDF inhibited C. albicans adhesion onto dentin. A significant difference was found between the SDF and control groups in both XTT and real time PCR tests. Conclusion: Using SDF to arrest the caries, could inhibit the Candida growth on dentin. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silver%20diamine%20fluoride" title="silver diamine fluoride">silver diamine fluoride</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dentin" title=" dentin"> dentin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%20time%20PCR" title=" real time PCR"> real time PCR</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=XTT" title=" XTT"> XTT</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103950/effect-of-silver-diamine-fluoride-on-reducing-fungal-adhesion-on-dentin" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/103950.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">162</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">3</span> Topographic Mapping of Farmland by Integration of Multiple Sensors on Board Low-Altitude Unmanned Aerial System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mengmeng%20Du">Mengmeng Du</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noboru%20Noguchi"> Noboru Noguchi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hiroshi%20Okamoto"> Hiroshi Okamoto</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noriko%20Kobayashi"> Noriko Kobayashi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper introduced a topographic mapping system with time-saving and simplicity advantages based on integration of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data and Post Processing Kinematic Global Positioning System (PPK GPS) data. An experiment in a small-scale sugarcane farmland was conducted in Queensland, Australia. Subsequently, we synchronized LiDAR distance measurements that were corrected by using attitude information from gyroscope with PPK GPS coordinates for generation of precision topographic maps, which could be further utilized for such applications like precise land leveling and drainage management. The results indicated that LiDAR distance measurements and PPK GPS altitude reached good accuracy of less than 0.015 m. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=land%20survey" title="land survey">land survey</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light%20detection%20and%20ranging" title=" light detection and ranging"> light detection and ranging</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=post%20processing%20kinematic%20global%20positioning%20system" title=" post processing kinematic global positioning system"> post processing kinematic global positioning system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=precision%20agriculture" title=" precision agriculture"> precision agriculture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=topographic%20map" title=" topographic map"> topographic map</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=unmanned%20aerial%20vehicle" title=" unmanned aerial vehicle"> unmanned aerial vehicle</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80276/topographic-mapping-of-farmland-by-integration-of-multiple-sensors-on-board-low-altitude-unmanned-aerial-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80276.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">236</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> A Simulation Tool for Projection Mapping Based on Mapbox and Unity</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noriko%20Hanakawa">Noriko Hanakawa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Masaki%20Obana"> Masaki Obana</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A simulation tool has been proposed for big-scale projection mapping events. The tool has four main functions based on Mapbox and Unity utilities. The first function is building a 3D model of real cities by MapBox. The second function is a movie projection to some buildings in real cities by Unity. The third function is a movie sending function from a PC to a virtual projector. The fourth function is mapping movies with fitting buildings. The simulation tool was adapted to a real projection mapping event that was held in 2019. The event has been finished. The event had a serious problem in the movie projection to the target building. The extra tents were set in front of the target building. The tents became the obstacles to the movie projection. The simulation tool can be reappeared the problems of the event. Therefore, if the simulation tool was developed before the 2019 projection mapping event, the problem of the tents’ obstacles could be avoided with the simulation tool. In addition, we confirmed that the simulation tool is useful to make a plan of future projection mapping events in order to avoid obstacles of various extra equipment such as utility poles, planting trees, monument towers. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=projection%20mapping" title="projection mapping">projection mapping</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=projector%20position" title=" projector position"> projector position</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real%203D%20map" title=" real 3D map"> real 3D map</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=avoiding%20obstacles" title=" avoiding obstacles"> avoiding obstacles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140107/a-simulation-tool-for-projection-mapping-based-on-mapbox-and-unity" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140107.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">203</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Cytogenetic Characterization of the VERO Cell Line Based on Comparisons with the Subline; Implication for Authorization and Quality Control of Animal Cell Lines</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fumio%20Kasai">Fumio Kasai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noriko%20Hirayama"> Noriko Hirayama</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jorge%20Pereira"> Jorge Pereira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azusa%20Ohtani"> Azusa Ohtani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Masashi%20Iemura"> Masashi Iemura</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Malcolm%20A.%20Ferguson%20Smith"> Malcolm A. The VERO genome was sequenced in 2014; however, its cytogenetic features have not been fully characterized as it contains several chromosome abnormalities and different karyotypes coexist in the cell line. In this study, the VERO cell line (JCRB0111) was compared with one of the sublines. In contrast to 59 chromosomes as the modal chromosome number in the VERO cell line, the subline had two peaks of 56 and 58 chromosomes. M-FISH analysis using human probes revealed that the VERO cell line was characterized by a translocation t(2;25) found in all metaphases, which was absent in the subline. Different abnormalities detected only in the subline show that the cell line is heterogeneous, indicating that the subline has the potential to change its genomic characteristics during cell culture. The various alterations in the two independent lineages suggest that genomic changes in both VERO cells can be accounted for by progressive rearrangements during their evolution in culture. Both t(5;X) and t(8;14) observed in all metaphases of the two cell lines might have a key role in VERO cells and could be used as genetic markers to identify VERO cells. The flow karyotype shows distinct differences from normal. Further analysis of sorted abnormal chromosomes may uncover other characteristics of VERO cells. Because of the absence of STR data, cytogenetic data are important in characterizing animal cell lines and can be an indicator of their quality control. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=VERO" title="VERO">VERO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cell%20culture%20passage" title=" cell culture passage"> cell culture passage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chromosome%20rearrangement" title=" chromosome rearrangement"> chromosome rearrangement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heterogeneous%20cells" title=" heterogeneous cells"> heterogeneous cells</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32913/cytogenetic-characterization-of-the-vero-cell-line-based-on-comparisons-with-the-subline-implication-for-authorization-and-quality-control-of-animal-cell-lines" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/32913.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">416</span> </span> </div> </div> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
