Traditionally, only selected objects from these collections have been displayed as part of exhibitions and in books. Some of the collections have been published from alternative systems. The selection of objects that are to be published online is determined by each individual institution. The institution is responsible for ensuring that the publication online occurs in accordance with prevailing legislation concerning copyright and personal data.<br><br>Objects are presented at DigitaltMuseum with accompanying information, including the object’s description, history, name, type, classification and references in accordance with accepted cataloguing traditions. The objects have been registered according to different traditions, at different times, by different institutions and by different people, which means that variations may occur in the information recorded, even when describing objects of a similar type. It is also possible that each individual institution may possess additional information about an object that has not yet been registered digitally in the database.<br><br>If you should have any additional information about any picture or object, we hope that you will make use of the ‘Comments’ function and share your knowledge.
