Depending upon mission needs, Polygraph Examiners may specialize and remain in polygraph for their career or move into another MDSO position after completion of a four-year Polygraph Examiner tour. Polygraph Examiners screen and vet individuals in support of the CIA's mission and protect some of this nation's most confidential and highly classified information.</p> <p> We have multiple entry-level through full performance Polygraph Examiner openings, and are seeking individuals with some or all of the following traits and abilities for this unique national security job. If you are looking for a security career that offers variety, complexity, intrigue, and mission importance then look no farther.</p> <hr class="jobln"/> <p> <strong>Minimum requirements </strong>include excellent interpersonal and representational skills, excellent command of the English language, excellent oral and written communications skills, and impeccable personal and professional integrity. The candidate should also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, have an interest in and aptitude for Polygraph Examiner work and a willingness to work in a potentially confrontational environment on a daily basis. A Bachelor's degree or higher in any field from an accredited college or university, GPA of 3.0 or better in your major is also required. Candidates must have a valid US drivers license.</p> <p> <strong>Desired qualifications</strong> include prior experience in polygraph, investigations, interviewing, adjudication, elicitation, and interrogation. Qualified federal examiner certification status will be fully accepted with only an abbreviated internal re-certification required. Ideally, candidates would have a broad range of interests including such varied topics as: art, history, philosophy, travel, sports, writing, foreign languages, coaching, law enforcement, science, photography, music, theater, medicine, information technology, public relations, marketing, teaching, and culinary arts. This position requires the ability to routinely relate to and interact with people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and abilities. Tenacity, confidence, maturity, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple taskings concurrently, and give and take direction are also desired.</p> <p> Applicants accepted into the CIA's Polygraph Examiner Program who are not currently federally certified examiners will be trained and certified. *Upon successful completion of the federal Polygraph Examiner certification training program, salary will increase 15%. All positions require a minimum four-year commitment.</p> <p> All applicants must undergo successful occupational testing to include an aptitude test, writing test, personality inventory, and interview.</p> <p> All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation.
