These are known as language proficiency tests. Before selecting a test format, make sure it is accepted by university and study program. Tests are based on the language of your study program:</p><ul><li>English-language universities may require you to write the <a href="https://www.ets.org/toefl">Test of English as a Foreign Language</a> (TOEFL), <a href="https://www.ielts.org/">International English Language Testing System</a> (IELTS), <a href="https://www.cambridgeenglish.org/">Cambridge English Assessment</a> or the <a href="https://www.cael.ca/">Canadian Academic English Language Assessment</a> (CAEL).</li><li>French-language universities assess students individually. To learn what a certain university requires, check with the Office of the Registrar at the school you wish to attend.</li></ul><h3>Transfer your credits to Canada</h3><p>You may be able to transfer your credits from studies completed online or in your home country.
