I have been researching my family trees about 40 years. My biggest joy was going to Norway in 1999 to meet a distant cousin and explore sites of my ancestors. Anne Mette Bjorgan also brought me to Trandems that still live in the kommune of Romskog near the Sweden border. The historical society in Romskog gave us directions to a home being restored that ancestors lived in. The house was almost 200 years old. My dad, Ralph Waldo Trandem always bragged about being full blooded Norwegian. In my research, my great grandmother, was from Denmark. I have very poor health. I haven't found out where the conditions have come from. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1989-a 40th birthday present. I also have a cousin with ms and her dad and my dad are brothers. My brother, Kevin Ralph Trandem and I are both diabetic and have heart problems. I have a metal mitral valve since 2001 and Kevin has had stents put in his heart. Our parents, Ralph Trandem and Dolores (Letendre) were married March 26 1949. They were very hard workers and always made my brother, Kevin, myself and our sister Lori Colleen Trandem a top priority. I married William George Kapphahn on October 12, 1974. We divorced 25 years later, December 21, 1999. We were blessed with two wonderful daughters. Tami Lynn Kapphahn was born October 3, 1976 and Michelle Ann Kapphahn was born February 22, 1979, I do the majority of my research using Family Tree Maker software, Ancestry, and My Heritage. I especially love finding pictures of ancestors and finding descriptions on things like military records. Military is one of the objectives I have with many relatives in World War I, Korea, World War II, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. I was hoping to help with cemeteries. But my health has taken some bad turns and I no longer drive. I have had multiple sclerosis for over 30 years and it has advanced to a stage of not being able to walk much. I find it a lot of fun working on my family trees.
