It has five arches and carries the line over Coupland Beck. The viaduct was designed by Sir Thomas Bouch in 1861 before being constructed by Lawton Brothers of Carlisle. The structure was Grade II listed by Historic England in May 2012 and remains largely as built despite the line closing to all traffic in 1995.
