<h1>MGA Awards and Recognition Program</h1> <p>The awards and recognition program of the Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board is designed to promote, recognize, and reward excellence in promoting the interests of IEEE as reflected in the operations of MGA and IEEE geographic unit activities (Regions, Councils, Areas, Sections, Chapters, Affinity Groups, Student Branches, and Student Branch Chapters). Middleton Distinguished Service Award</a></b></p> </td> <td> <p>Next nomination period to be announced early 2026</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <h2 id="recent-recipients">Recent Award Recipients</h2> <h3>2024 MGA Outstanding Section Award Recipients</h3> <p>On 22 June 2024, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board selected the following recipients of the 2024 MGA Outstanding Section Awards:</p> <ul> <li>2024 MGA Outstanding Large Section Award recipient is the IEEE Atlanta Section from Region 3.</li> <li>2024 MGA Outstanding Medium Section Award recipient is the IEEE Panama Section from Region 9.</li> <li>2024 MGA Outstanding Small Section Award recipient is the IEEE Ozark Section from Region 5.</li> </ul> <p>Congratulations to the Atlanta, Panama, and Ozark Sections for being selected for these awards and "for their successful efforts in fulfilling IEEE's educational and scientific goals for the benefit of the public by maintaining, enhancing and supporting the Student Branches, Technical Chapters and Affinity Groups within their geographic boundaries."</p> <p>This year’s recipients, as well as previous recipients, are listed on the <a href="/awards/mga-awards-and-recognition-program/mga-outstanding-section-awards/mga-outstanding-large,-medium,-and-small-section-award-recipients" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="MGA Outstanding Section Awards">MGA Outstanding Section Award Recipients</a> web page. Middleton Distinguished Service Award Recipient - NEXT NOMINATION CYCLE ANNOUNCED IN 2026</h3> <p>On 17 June 2023, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board selected Maike Luiken (R7) London Section as the 2023 award recipient. Congratulations to Maike Luiken, "For exemplary leadership and commitment to MGA, IEEE members and the public, and for championing technological solutions to sustainable development and climate change challenges".</p> <h3>Friend of MGA Award Recipients</h3> <p>On 22 June 2024, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board approved the following recipients for the Individual and Organizational Supporting Friend of IEEE MGA Awards: Christine Girtain from Region 1, Marwadi University from Region 10, Southwest Research Institute from Region 5, and Promtur from Region 9.
