Firstly, object tracking is posed as a binary classification problem and is modeled by partial least squares (PLS) analysis. Secondly, tracking object frame by frame via particle filtering. Thirdly, validating the tracking reliability based on both positive and negative models matching. Finally, relocating the object based on SIFT features matching and voting when drift occurs. Object appearance model is updated at the same time. The algorithm cannot only sense tracking drift but also relocate the object whenever needed. Experimental results demonstrate that this algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms on many challenging sequences. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=object%20tracking" title="object tracking">object tracking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tracking%20drift" title=" tracking drift"> tracking drift</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=partial%20least%20squares%20analysis" title=" partial least squares analysis"> partial least squares analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=positive%20and%20negative%20models%20matching" title=" positive and negative models matching"> positive and negative models matching</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19382/adaptive-online-object-tracking-via-positive-and-negative-models-matching" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19382.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">530</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">114</span> MicroRNA Expression Distinguishes Neutrophil Subtypes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=R.%20I.%20You">R. Numerous data shown neutrophils have plasticity in response to physiological and pathological conditions. Tumor-associated neutrophils (TAN) exist in distinct types of tumor and play an important role in cancer biology. Different transcriptomic profiles of neutrophils in tumor and non-tumor samples have been identified. Several miRNAs have been recognized as regulators of gene expression in neutrophil, which may have key roles in neutrophil activation. However, the miRNAs expression patterns in TAN are not well known. To address this question, magnetic bead isolated neutrophils from tumor-bearing mice were used in this study. We analyzed production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by luminol-dependent chemiluminescence assay. The expression of miRNAs targeting NADPH oxidase, ROS generation and autophagy was explored using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Our data suggest that tumor environment influence neutrophil develop to differential states of activation via miRNAs regulation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tumor-associated%20neutrophil" title="tumor-associated neutrophil">tumor-associated neutrophil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=miRNAs" title=" miRNAs"> miRNAs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neutrophil" title=" neutrophil"> neutrophil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ROS" title=" ROS "> ROS </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13682/microrna-expression-distinguishes-neutrophil-subtypes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13682.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">470</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">113</span> What Do Board Members Learn from Their External Connectedness? We propose a learningeffect hypothesis indicating that an externally connected board member’s experiences in other companies directly affect his recommendations regarding the underlying firm’s diversification. The partial correlation between diversification and the performance of firms with externally connected board members is used as a proxy for the learning effect. The empirical results show that the learning effect is asymmetrically embedded in firm diversification, with negative experiences having a greater effect on firm diversification than positive experiences. Externally connected board members are associated with reduced diversification in one firm after they learn that diversification is detrimental to value in other companies. Moreover, the diversification of a firm due to board external connectedness is moderated by the controlling owner’s interest alignment and entrenchment. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=board" title="board">board</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=external" title=" external"> external</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=connectedness" title=" connectedness"> connectedness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diversification" title=" diversification"> diversification</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20807/what-do-board-members-learn-from-their-external-connectedness-the-case-of-firm-diversification" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20807.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">462</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">112</span> Reliability and Validity Examinations of the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL): One of the Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhidong%20Zhang">Zhidong Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhi-Chao%20Zhang"> Zhi-Chao Zhang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this study, three Chinese versions of the Achenbach systems of empirically based assessment (ASEBA) scales were used to examine adolescent psychological and behavioral problems. This force can be used to pick up a workpiece placed underneath the swirl gripper without any contact. It is applicable, for example, in the semiconductor wafer production line, where contact must be avoided during the handling and moving of a workpiece to minimize damage. When a workpiece levitates underneath a swirl gripper, the gap height between them is crucial for safe handling. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to estimate the levitation gap height by detecting pressure at two points. The method is based on theoretical model of the swirl gripper, and has been experimentally verified. Furthermore, the force between the gripper and the workpiece can also be estimated using the detected pressure. As a result, the nonlinear relationship between the force and gap height can be linearized by adjusting the rotating speed of the fan in the swirl gripper according to the estimated force and gap height. The linearized relationship is expected to enhance handling stability of the workpiece. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=swirl%20gripper" title="swirl gripper">swirl gripper</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=noncontact%20handling" title=" noncontact handling"> noncontact handling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=levitation" title=" levitation"> levitation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gap%20height%20estimation" title=" gap height estimation"> gap height estimation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109800/pressure-detecting-method-for-estimating-levitation-gap-height-of-swirl-gripper" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109800.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">133</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">109</span> The Examination of Withdrawn Behavior in Chinese Adolescents</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhidong%20Zhang">Zhidong Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhi-Chao%20Zhang"> Zhi-Chao Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Georgiana%20Duarte"> Georgiana Duarte</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study examined withdrawn syndromes of Chinese school children in northeast China in Northeast China. The parts of the research results indicated that the background variables such as extracurricular activities were directly related to students’ internal problems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=behavioral%20problems" title="behavioral problems">behavioral problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anxious%2Fdepressed%20problems" title=" anxious/depressed problems"> anxious/depressed problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=internalizing%20problems" title=" internalizing problems"> internalizing problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mental%20health" title=" mental health"> mental health</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=under-represented%20groups" title=" under-represented groups"> under-represented groups</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=empirically-based%20assessment" title=" empirically-based assessment"> empirically-based assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hierarchical%20modeling" title=" hierarchical modeling"> hierarchical modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ASEBA" title=" ASEBA"> ASEBA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilevel%20analysis" title=" multilevel analysis"> multilevel analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19907/hierarchically-modeling-cognition-and-behavioral-problems-of-an-under-represented-group" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19907.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">603</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">107</span> Biosensors for Parathion Based on Au-Pd Nanoparticles Modified Electrodes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tian-Fang%20Kang">Tian-Fang Kang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao-Nan%20Ge"> Chao-Nan Ge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rui%20Li"> Rui Li</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> An electrochemical biosensor for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides was developed based on electrochemical co-deposition of Au and Pd nanoparticles on glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) analysis was used for characterization of the surface structure. Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) demonstrates that the films are uniform and the nanoclusters are homogeneously distributed on the GCE surface. Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) was immobilized on the Au and Pd nanoparticle modified electrode (Au-Pd/GCE) by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde. The electrochemical behavior of thiocholine at the biosensor (AChE/Au-Pd/GCE) was studied. The biosensors exhibited substantial electrocatalytic effect on the oxidation of thiocholine. The peak current of linear scan voltammetry (LSV) of thiocholine at the biosensor is proportional to the concentration of acetylthiocholine chloride (ATCl) over the range of 2.5 × 10-6 to 2.5 × 10-4 M in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0). The percent inhibition of acetylcholinesterase was proportional to the logarithm of parathion concentration in the range of 4.0 × 10-9 to 1.0 × 10-6 M. The detection limit of parathion was 2.6 × 10-9 M. This innovative solid polymer electrolyte which is highly ionic conductive (10-3 S/cm at room temperature) from -40 oC to +150 oC and can be used in any battery application. Such polymer exhibits properties more like a ceramic rather than polymer. The various applied measurement methods produced accurate dielectric results for comprehensive analysis of electrochemical properties and ion transportation mechanism of this newly invented polymer electrolyte. Two techniques and instruments employing air gap measurement by capacitance bridge and inwave guide measurement by vector network analyzer are applied to measure the complex dielectric spectra. In the rod bundle, the coolant absorbs the heat contributed by the fission process. Because of the dramatic variations in the thermophysical properties of water at supercritical conditions, it is essential to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of supercritical water in the rod bundle to ensure the safety of the nuclear power plant. In this study, the effects of the flow direction, including horizontal, upward, and downward, on the fluid flow and heat transfer of the supercritical water in the rod bundle were studied numerically. The results show the possibility of gap vortices in the flow subchannels of the rod bundle. In addition, the distributions of the circumferential wall temperature show differences in different flow direction conditions. It was also found that the circumferential cladding surface temperature distribution in the upward flow condition is extremely non-uniform, and there is a large difference between the maximum wall temperatures for different fuel rods. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20transfer" title="heat transfer">heat transfer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rod%20bundle" title=" rod bundle"> rod bundle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supercritical%20water" title=" supercritical water"> supercritical water</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wall%20temperature" title=" wall temperature"> wall temperature</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156856/effects-of-the-flow-direction-on-the-fluid-flow-and-heat-transfer-in-the-rod-bundle" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/156856.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">101</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">104</span> Analysis of Building Response from Vertical Ground Motions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=George%20C.%20Yao">George C. Most of the prevailing seismic codes assume the vertical component to be 1/2 to 2/3 of the horizontal one. In order to understand the building responses from vertical ground motions, many earthquakes records are studied in this paper. System identification methods (ARX Model) are used to analyze the strong motions and to find out the characteristics of the vertical amplification factors and the natural frequencies of buildings. Analysis results show that the vertical amplification factors for high-rise buildings and low-rise building are 1.78 and 2.52 respectively, and the average vertical amplification factor of all buildings is about 2. The relationship between the vertical natural frequency and building height was regressed to a suggested formula in this study. The result points out an important message; the taller the building is, the greater chance of resonance of vertical vibration on the building will be. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vertical%20ground%20motion" title="vertical ground motion">vertical ground motion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vertical%20amplification%20factor" title=" vertical amplification factor"> vertical amplification factor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20frequency" title=" natural frequency"> natural frequency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=component" title=" component"> component</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73421/analysis-of-building-response-from-vertical-ground-motions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73421.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">314</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">103</span> Numerical Simulation of Liquid Nitrogen Spray Equipment for Space Environmental Simulation Facility</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=He%20Chao">He Chao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhang%20Lei"> Zhang Lei</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Liu%20Ran"> Liu Ran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Li%20Ang"> Li Ang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Temperature regulating system by gaseous nitrogen is of importance to the space environment simulator, which keep the shrouds in the temperature range from -150℃ to +150℃. The factor analysis model was used to examine the structure validity. For the rule breaking behavior, at the first step, the most items weighted with component 2. After the rotation, there was a clear weight on both component 1 and 2. For the aggressive behavior, at the first step, there was no clear picture about the components. After the rotation, two clusters of items were closer to component 1 and 2 respectively. It seemed that both rule breaking behavior issue and aggressive behavior issue suggested two components. Urban regeneration is the critical strategy to promote local development, but the method of spatial reconstruction which is emphasized in the issue of urban regeneration is questioned for bringing cultural, social and economic impacts on old city areas. The idea of “Urban Regeneration Station (URS)” is proposed for Taipei City Government to introduce the entry and disturbance of communities and related groups with the concept of creative city. This study explored how an URS promotes local development again through the strength of communities and the energy of local residence community, and it established the Platform Strategy for URS. The research results are as follows: URS through the promotion of government agencies, experts, scholars and the third sector, to the selection of different types of units stationed in business, through exhibitions, seminars, and other activities to explore local development issues, vetting each stationed execution efficiency units, and different units stationed by URS establish URS overall network platform strategy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20regeneration" title="urban regeneration">urban regeneration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=platform%20strategy" title=" platform strategy"> platform strategy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=creative%20city" title=" creative city"> creative city</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Taipei%20city" title=" Taipei city"> Taipei city</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20535/the-study-on-the-platform-strategy-of-taipei-city-urban-regeneration-station" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20535.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">456</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">100</span> A Study on Local Wisdom towards Career Building of People in Kamchanoad Community</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Phusit%20Phukamchanoad">Phusit Phukamchanoad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thananya%20Santithammakul"> Thananya Santithammakul</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Suwaree%20Yordchim"> Suwaree Yordchim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pennapa%20Palapin"> Pennapa Palapin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This research gathered local wisdom towards career building of people in Kamchanoad Community, Baan Muang sub-district, Baan Dung district, Udon Thani province. These products are usually highly reliable and little failure information can be collected. In this paper, an analytical method based on data from accelerated storage life test is proposed to evaluate the reliability index of the long-term storage products. Firstly, singularities are eliminated by data normalization and residual analysis. Secondly, with the pre-processed data, the degradation path model is built to obtain the pseudo life values. Then by life distribution hypothesis, we can get the estimator of parameters in high stress levels and verify failure mechanisms consistency. Finally, the life distribution under the normal stress level is extrapolated via the acceleration model and evaluation of the true average life available. An application example with the camera stabilization device is provided to illustrate the methodology we proposed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=accelerated%20storage%20life%20test" title="accelerated storage life test">accelerated storage life test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=failure%20mechanisms%20consistency" title=" failure mechanisms consistency"> failure mechanisms consistency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=life%20distribution" title=" life distribution"> life distribution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reliability" title=" reliability"> reliability</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29140/an-evaluation-method-of-accelerated-storage-life-test-for-typical-mechanical-and-electronic-products" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/29140.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">388</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">98</span> Study of Magnetic Nanoparticles’ Endocytosis in a Single Cell Level</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jefunnie%20Matahum">Jefunnie Matahum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yu-Chi%20Kuo"> Yu-Chi Kuo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao-Ming%20Su"> Chao-Ming Su</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tzong-Rong%20Ger"> Tzong-Rong Ger</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Magnetic cell labeling is of great importance in various applications in biomedical fields such as cell separation and cell sorting. Since analytical methods for quantification of cell uptake of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are already well established, image analysis on single cell level still needs more characterization. This study reports an alternative non-destructive quantification methods of single-cell uptake of positively charged MNPs. Magnetophoresis experiments were performed to calculate the number of MNPs in a single cell. Mobility of magnetic cells and the area of intracellular MNP stained by Prussian blue were quantified by image processing software. ICP-MS experiments were also performed to confirm the internalization of MNPs to cells. Initial results showed that the magnetic cells incubated at 100 µg and 50 µg MNPs/mL concentration move at 18.3 and 16.7 µm/sec, respectively. There is also an increasing trend in the number and area of intracellular MNP with increasing concentration. These results could be useful in assessing the nanoparticle uptake in a single cell level. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetic%20nanoparticles" title="magnetic nanoparticles">magnetic nanoparticles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20cell" title=" single cell"> single cell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetophoresis" title=" magnetophoresis"> magnetophoresis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20analysis" title=" image analysis"> image analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66948/study-of-magnetic-nanoparticles-endocytosis-in-a-single-cell-level" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66948.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">333</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">97</span> Application of WebGIS-Based Water Environment Capacity Inquiry and Planning System in Water Resources Management</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tao%20Ding">Tao Ding</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Danjia%20Yan"> Danjia Yan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jinye%20Li"> Jinye Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Ren"> Chao Ren</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xinhua%20Hu"> Xinhua Hu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The paper based on the research background of the current situation of water shortage in China and intelligent management of water resources in the information era. And the paper adopts WebGIS technology, combining the mathematical model of water resources management to develop a WebGIS-based water environment capacity inquiry and polluted water emission planning. The research significance of the paper is that it can inquiry the water environment capacity of Jinhua City in real time and plan how to drain polluted water into the river, so as to realize the effective management of water resources. This system makes sewage planning more convenient and faster. For the planning of the discharge enterprise, the decision on the optimal location of the sewage outlet can be achieved through calculation of the Sewage discharge planning model in the river, without the need for site visits. Mesh compression and expansion as well as overset mesh techniques are employed to simulate the moving parts of the engine. Shear-Stress Transport (SST) k-ω turbulence model has been adopted because the model is not prone to generate excessive turbulence upon impingement regions. Hence, wall heat transfer rates at the hot and cold ends will not be overestimated. The effects of several different displacer-cylinder-wall temperature setups, including smooth and finned walls, on engine performance are investigated. The results include temperature contours, pressure versus volume diagrams, and variations of heat transfer rates, indicated power, and efficiency. It is found that displacer-wall heat transfer is one of the most important factors on engine performance, and some wall-temperature setups produce better results than others. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CFD" title="CFD">CFD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finned%20wall" title=" finned wall"> finned wall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MTD%20Stirling%20engine" title=" MTD Stirling engine"> MTD Stirling engine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20transfer" title=" heat transfer"> heat transfer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66213/the-effects-of-displacer-cylinder-wall-conditions-on-the-performance-of-a-medium-temperature-differential-gh-type-stirling-engine" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66213.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">376</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">95</span> The Usefulness of Financial Certification in Taiwan</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chih-Mei%20Wang">Chih-Mei Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jon-Chao%20Hong"> Jon-Chao Hong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jian-Hong%20Ye"> Jian-Hong Ye</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jing-Yun%20Fan"> Jing-Yun Fan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chiao-Fei%20Lin"> Chiao-Fei Lin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The value of a certificate is to implement the criteria for evaluating work ability. Some professional certificates may make people feel good, but they are not useful in the workplace. To address this issue, this study is based on the expectancy-value model to take financial certificates as an example to explore how participants perceived the value of obtaining certification related to their usage perception of career promotion and salary increase. A total of 339 valid samples were subjected to confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling; the results showed that the number of professional certificates was not significantly correlated with career promotion, but the number of professional certificates is negatively related to salary and benefits (S&B), while career promotion and S&B were positively related to job performance. The results show that the number of professional certificates does not play a significant role in the expectancy-value model. We introduce similarity comparison method to determine how the target scale changes, and taking different strategies according to different situation. For target scale getting larger will cause location error, we employ backward tracking to reduce the error. Mean-Shift algorithm has poor performance when tracking scale-changing target due to the fixed bandwidth of its kernel function. In order to overcome this problem, we introduce PCA-SIFT matching. Through key point matching between target and template, that adjusting the scale of tracking window adaptively can be achieved. Because this algorithm is sensitive to wrong match, we introduce RANSAC to reduce mismatch as far as possible. Furthermore target relocating will trigger when number of match is too small. In addition we take comprehensive consideration about target deformation and error accumulation to put forward a new template update method. Experiments on five image sequences and comparison with 6 kinds of other algorithm demonstrate favorable performance of the proposed tracking algorithm. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=target%20tracking" title="target tracking">target tracking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PCA-SIFT" title=" PCA-SIFT"> PCA-SIFT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mean-shift" title=" mean-shift"> mean-shift</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scale-adaptive" title=" scale-adaptive"> scale-adaptive</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19009/fast-and-scale-adaptive-target-tracking-via-pca-sift" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19009.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">433</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">93</span> An Innovative Interaction Approach on Agricultural Community Revitalization: A Case Study of Wufeng Living Lab for Creative Agricultural</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shih-Jen%20Feng">Shih-Jen Feng</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nai-Chia%20Chao"> Nai-Chia Chao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Meng-Chi%20Shih"> Meng-Chi Shih</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chien-Chi%20Chang"> Chien-Chi Chang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Today, Taiwan agriculture operates under small business scale with economic insufficiency, due to aging population, unproductiveness, inadequate systematic management, insufficient agro-economic scale, and cultivation on agro-education. Many road sections of the National Highway are impossible to avoid problems such as slope excavation or slope filling. In order to increase the safety of the slope, various slope protection methods are used to stabilize the slope, especially the soil anchor technique is the most common. This study is inspired by the soil liquefaction potential map. The concept of the potential map is widely used. The typhoon, earth-rock flow, tsunami, flooded area, and the recent discussion of soil liquefaction have safety potential concepts. This paper brings the concept of safety potential to the anchored slope. Because the soil anchor inspection is only the concept of points, this study extends the concept of the point to the surface, using the Quantum GIS program to present the slope damage area, and depicts the slope appearance and soil anchor point with the slope as-built drawing. The soil anchor scores are obtained by anchor inspection data, and the low, medium and high potential areas are remitted by interpolation. Thus, the area where the anchored slope may be harmful is judged and relevant maintenance is provided. The maintenance units can thus prevent judgment and deal with the anchored slope as soon as possible. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anchor" title="anchor">anchor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=slope" title=" slope"> slope</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=potential%20map" title=" potential map"> potential map</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=lift-off%20test" title=" lift-off test"> lift-off test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=existing%20load" title=" existing load"> existing load</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/113806/the-concept-of-anchor-hazard-potential-map" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/113806.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">141</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">91</span> System Identification in Presence of Outliers </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Yu">Chao Yu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qing-Guo%20Wang"> Qing-Guo Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dan%20Zhang"> Dan Zhang </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The outlier detection problem for dynamic systems is formulated as a matrix decomposition problem with low-rank, sparse matrices and further recast as a semidefinite programming (SDP) problem. A fast algorithm is presented to solve the resulting problem while keeping the solution matrix structure and it can greatly reduce the computational cost over the standard interior-point method. The computational burden is further reduced by proper construction of subsets of the raw data without violating low rank property of the involved matrix. The proposed method can make exact detection of outliers in case of no or little noise in output observations. In case of significant noise, a novel approach based on under-sampling with averaging is developed to denoise while retaining the saliency of outliers and so-filtered data enables successful outlier detection with the proposed method while the existing filtering methods fail. Use of recovered “clean” data from the proposed method can give much better parameter estimation compared with that based on the raw data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=outlier%20detection" title="outlier detection">outlier detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=system%20identification" title=" system identification"> system identification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=matrix%20decomposition" title=" matrix decomposition"> matrix decomposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=low-rank%20matrix" title=" low-rank matrix"> low-rank matrix</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sparsity" title=" sparsity"> sparsity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=semidefinite%20programming" title=" semidefinite programming"> semidefinite programming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interior-point%20methods" title=" interior-point methods"> interior-point methods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=denoising" title=" denoising"> denoising</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13363/system-identification-in-presence-of-outliers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/13363.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">307</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">90</span> Mapping Network Connection of Personality Traits and Psychiatric Symptoms in Chinese Adolescents</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yichao%20Lv">Yichao Lv</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Minmin%20Cai"> Minmin Cai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yanqiang%20Tao"> Yanqiang Tao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xinyuan%20Zou"> Xinyuan Zou</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Zhang"> Chao Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiangping%20Liu"> Xiangping Liu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objective: This study aims to explore the network structure of personality traits and mental health and identify key factors for effective intervention strategies. Methods: All participants (N = 6,067; 3,368 females) underwent the Eysenck Personality Scale (EPQ) to measure personality traits and the Symptom Self-rating Scale (SCL-90) to measure psychiatric symptoms. Using the mean value of the SCL-90 total score plus one standard deviation as the cutoff, 854 participants (14.08%; 528 females) were categorized as individuals exhibiting potential psychological symptoms and were included in the follow-up network analysis. The structure and bridge centrality of the network for dimensions of EPQ and SCL-90 were estimated. Results: Between the EPQ and SCL-90, psychoticism (P), extraversion (E), and neuroticism (N) showed the strongest positive correlations with somatization (Som), interpersonal sensitivity (IS), and hostility (Hos), respectively. Extraversion (E), somatization (Som), and anxiety (Anx) were identified as the most important bridge factors influencing the overall network. Conclusions: This study explored the network structure and complex connections between mental health and personality traits from a network perspective, providing potential targets for intervening in adolescent personality traits and mental health. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EPQ" title="EPQ">EPQ</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SCL-90" title=" SCL-90"> SCL-90</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chinese%20adolescents" title=" Chinese adolescents"> Chinese adolescents</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=network%20analysis" title=" network analysis"> network analysis</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185208/mapping-network-connection-of-personality-traits-and-psychiatric-symptoms-in-chinese-adolescents" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/185208.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">48</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">89</span> Design of Regular Communication Area for Infrared Electronic-Toll-Collection Systems</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wern-Yarng%20Shieh">Wern-Yarng Shieh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Qian"> Chao Qian</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bingnan%20Pei"> Bingnan Pei </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A design of communication area for infrared electronic-toll-collection systems to provide an extended communication interval in the vehicle traveling direction and regular boundary between contiguous traffic lanes is proposed. By utilizing two typical low-cost commercial infrared LEDs with different half-intensity angles Φ1/2 = 22° and 10°, the radiation pattern of the emitter is designed to properly adjust the spatial distribution of the signal power. The aforementioned purpose can be achieved with an LED array in a three-piece structure with appropriate mounting angles. With this emitter, the influence of the mounting parameters, including the mounting height and mounting angles of the on-board unit and road-side unit, on the system performance in terms of the received signal strength and communication area are investigated. The results reveal that, for our emitter proposed in this paper, the ideal "long-and-narrow" characteristic of the communication area is very little affected by these mounting parameters. An optimum mounting configuration is also suggested. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dedicated%20short-range%20communication%20%28DSRC%29" title="dedicated short-range communication (DSRC)">dedicated short-range communication (DSRC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electronic%20toll%20collection%20%28ETC%29" title=" electronic toll collection (ETC)"> electronic toll collection (ETC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=infrared%20communication" title=" infrared communication"> infrared communication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=intelligent%20transportation%20system%20%28ITS%29" title=" intelligent transportation system (ITS)"> intelligent transportation system (ITS)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilane%20free%20flow" title=" multilane free flow "> multilane free flow </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8678/design-of-regular-communication-area-for-infrared-electronic-toll-collection-systems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8678.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">337</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">88</span> The Fabrication and Characterization of Hierarchical Carbon Nanotube/Carbon Fiber/High-Density Polyethylene Composites via Twin-Screw Extrusion</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Hu">Chao Hu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xinwen%20Liao"> Xinwen Liao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qing-Hua%20Qin"> Qing-Hua Qin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gang%20Wang"> Gang Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The hierarchical carbon nanotube (CNT)/carbon fiber (CF)/high density polyethylene (HDPE) was fabricated via compound extrusion and injection molding, in which to author’s best knowledge CNT was employed as a nano-coatings on the surface of CF for the first time by spray coating technique. It can be ascribed to the enhancement of interfacial bonding between the CF and HDPE via the incorporation of CNT, which was demonstrated by the scanning electron microscopy observation. Meanwhile, the differential scanning calorimetry data indicated that by the introduction of CNT and CF, the crystallization temperature and crystallinity of HDPE were affected while the melting temperature did not have an obvious alteration. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=carbon%20fibers" title="carbon fibers">carbon fibers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=carbon%20nanotubes" title=" carbon nanotubes"> carbon nanotubes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=extrusion" title=" extrusion"> extrusion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20density%20polyethylene" title=" high density polyethylene "> high density polyethylene </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110161/the-fabrication-and-characterization-of-hierarchical-carbon-nanotubecarbon-fiberhigh-density-polyethylene-composites-via-twin-screw-extrusion" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/110161.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">87</span> Predicting Medical Check-Up Patient Re-Coming Using Sequential Pattern Mining and Association Rules</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rizka%20Aisha%20Rahmi%20Hariadi">Rizka Aisha Rahmi Hariadi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao%20Ou-Yang"> Chao Ou-Yang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Han-Cheng%20Wang"> Han-Cheng Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajesri%20Govindaraju"> Rajesri Govindaraju</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> As the increasing of medical check-up popularity, there are a huge number of medical check-up data stored in database and have not been useful. These data actually can be very useful for future strategic planning if we mine it correctly. In other side, a lot of patients come with unpredictable coming and also limited available facilities make medical check-up service offered by hospital not maximal. To solve that problem, this study used those medical check-up data to predict patient re-coming. Sequential pattern mining (SPM) and association rules method were chosen because these methods are suitable for predicting patient re-coming using sequential data. First, based on patient personal information the data was grouped into … groups then discriminant analysis was done to check significant of the grouping. Second, for each group some frequent patterns were generated using SPM method. Third, based on frequent patterns of each group, pairs of variable can be extracted using association rules to get general pattern of re-coming patient. Last, discussion and conclusion was done to give some implications of the results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
