commonly used technologies in IoTs and Wireless Sensor Networks which makes the devices identification and tracking extremely easy to manage. Since RFID uses wireless channel for communication, which is open for all types of adversaries, researchers have proposed many Ultralightweight Mutual Authentication Protocols (UMAPs) to ensure security and privacy in a cost-effective manner. These UMAPs involve simple bitwise logical operators such as XOR, AND, OR & Rot, etc., to design the protocol messages. However, most of these UMAPs were later reported to be vulnerable against many malicious attacks. In this paper, we have presented a detailed overview of some eminent UMAPs and also discussed the many security attacks on them. Finally, some recommendations and suggestions have been discussed, which can improve the design of the UMAPs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RFID" title="RFID">RFID</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ultralightweight" title=" Ultralightweight"> Ultralightweight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UMAP" title=" UMAP"> UMAP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SASI" title=" SASI"> SASI</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119955/a-review-of-ultralightweight-mutual-authentication-protocols" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119955.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">153</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4082</span> Superiority of High Frequency Based Volatility Models: Empirical Evidence from an Emerging Market</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sibel%20Celik">Sibel Celik</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=H%C3%BCseyin%20Ergin"> Hüseyin Ergin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The paper aims to find the best volatility forecasting model for stock markets in Turkey. In order to support a high data transmission speed and a high traffic service for eMBB (enhanced mobile broadband) use cases, 5G systems have the characteristic of using different frequency bands of the radio wave spectrum (700 MHz, 3.6-3.8 GHz and 26.5-27.5 GHz), thus taking advantage of higher frequencies than previous mobile radio generations (1G-4G). However, waves at higher frequencies have a lower capacity to propagate in free space and therefore, in order to guarantee the capillary coverage of the territory for high reliability applications, it will be necessary to install a large number of repeaters. Following the introduction of this new technology, there has been growing concern over the past few months about possible harmful effects on human health. The aim of this preliminary study is to evaluate possible short term effects induced by 5G-millimeter waves on embryonic development and early life stages of Danio rerio by Z-FET. We exposed developing zebrafish at frequency of 27 GHz, with a standard pyramidal horn antenna placed at 15 cm far from the samples holder ensuring an incident power density of 10 mW/cm2. During the exposure cycle, from 6 h post fertilization (hpf) to 96 hpf, we measured a different morphological endpoints every 24 hours. Zebrafish embryo toxicity test (Z-FET) is a short term test, carried out on fertilized eggs of zebrafish and it represents an effective alternative to acute test with adult fish (OECD, 2013). We have observed that 5G did not reveal significant impacts on mortality nor on morphology because exposed larvae showed a normal detachment of the tail, presence of heartbeat, well-organized somites, therefore hatching rate was lower than untreated larvae even at 48 h of exposure. Moreover, the immunohistochemical analysis performed on larvae showed a negativity to the HSP-70 expression used as a biomarkers. This is a preliminary study on evaluation of potential toxicity induced by 5G and it seems appropriate to underline the importance that further studies would take, aimed at clarifying the probable real risk of exposure to electromagnetic fields. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Biomarker%20of%20exposure" title="Biomarker of exposure">Biomarker of exposure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=embryonic%20development" title=" embryonic development"> embryonic development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=5G%20waves" title=" 5G waves"> 5G waves</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zebrafish%20embryo%20toxicity%20test" title=" zebrafish embryo toxicity test"> zebrafish embryo toxicity test</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129179/in-vivo-evaluation-of-exposure-to-electromagnetic-fields-at-27-ghz-5g-of-danio-rerio-a-preliminary-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129179.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">129</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4080</span> BAN Logic Proof of E-passport Authentication Protocol</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Safa%20Saoudi">Safa Saoudi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Souheib%20Yousfi"> Souheib Yousfi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Riadh%20Robbana"> Riadh Robbana</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> E-passport is a relatively new electronic document which maintains the passport features and provides better security. It deploys new technologies such as biometrics and Radio Frequency identification (RFID). The international civil aviation organization (ICAO) and the European union define mechanisms and protocols to provide security but their solutions present many threats. In this paper, a new mechanism is presented to strengthen e-passport security and authentication process. With the help of an electro-chemical radio frequency scanning tunneling microscopy (EC-RF-STM) setup, we are observing single electron mediated oxidation-reduction processes in molecules like ferrocene and transition metal corroles. Combining the techniques of scanning microwave microscopy and cyclic voltammetry allows us to monitor such processes with attoampere sensitivity. The two eNBs are cooperating in so-called inter eNB CA (Carrier Aggregation) case and connected via asymmetrical IP network. We solve the problem by using broadcasting signals generated in E-UTRAN as synchronization signals. The results show that the time synchronization with the proposed method is possible with the error significantly less than 1 ms which is sufficient considering the time transmission interval is 1 ms in E-UTRAN. This makes this method (with low complexity) more suitable than Network Time Protocol (NTP) in the mobile applications with generated broadcasting signals where time synchronization in asymmetrical network is required. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IP%20scheduled%20throughput" title="IP scheduled throughput">IP scheduled throughput</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=E-UTRAN" title=" E-UTRAN"> E-UTRAN</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Evolved%20Universal%20Terrestrial%20Radio%20Access%20Network" title=" Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network"> Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NTP" title=" NTP"> NTP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Network%20Time%20Protocol" title=" Network Time Protocol"> Network Time Protocol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=assymetric%20network" title=" assymetric network"> assymetric network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delay" title=" delay"> delay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93953/time-synchronization-between-the-enbs-in-e-utran-under-the-asymmetric-ip-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93953.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">361</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4077</span> Research on High Dielectric HfO₂ Stack Structure Applied to Field Effect Transistors</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuan%20Yu%20Lin">Kuan Yu Lin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shih%20Chih%20Chen"> Shih Chih Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This study focuses on the Al/HfO₂/Si/Al structure to explore the electrical properties of the structure. Consider the hafnium dioxide film as a dielectric layer. Post-deposition annealing at 750°C in nitrogen atmosphere. Electron beam evaporation of metallic aluminum is then used to complete the top/bottom electrodes. The metal is post-annealed at 450°C for 20 minutes in a nitrogen environment to complete the MOS component. Its dielectric constant, equivalent oxide layer thickness, oxide layer defects, and leakage current mechanism are discussed. The available speech identification tests in Telugu have been developed to determine the communication problems of individuals having a flat frequency hearing loss. These conventional speech audiometric tests would provide redundant information when used on individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss because of better hearing sensitivity in the low- and mid-frequency regions. Hence, conventional speech identification tests do not indicate the true nature of the communication problem of individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss. It is highly possible that a person with a high-frequency sloping hearing loss may get maximum scores if conventional speech identification tests are used. Hence, there is a need to develop speech identification test materials that are specifically designed to assess the speech identification performance of individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss. The present study aimed to develop speech identification test for individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss in Telugu. Individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss have difficulty in perception of voiceless consonants whose spectral energy is above 1000 Hz. Hence, the word lists constructed with phonemes having mid- and high-frequency spectral energy will estimate speech identification performance better for such individuals. The phonemes /k/, /g/, /c/, /ṭ/ /t/, /p/, /s/, /ś/, /ṣ/ and /h/are preferred for the construction of words as these phonemes have spectral energy distributed in the frequencies above 1000 KHz predominantly. The present study developed two word lists in Telugu (each word list contained 25 words) for evaluating speech identification performance of individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss. The performance of individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss was evaluated using both conventional and high-frequency word lists under recorded voice condition. The results revealed that the developed word lists were found to be more sensitive in identifying the true nature of the communication problem of individuals with high-frequency sloping hearing loss. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=speech%20identification%20test" title="speech identification test">speech identification test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high-frequency%20sloping%20hearing%20loss" title=" high-frequency sloping hearing loss"> high-frequency sloping hearing loss</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recorded%20voice%20condition" title=" recorded voice condition"> recorded voice condition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Telugu" title=" Telugu "> Telugu </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41243/speech-identification-test-for-individuals-with-high-frequency-sloping-hearing-loss-in-telugu" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41243.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">419</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4074</span> Classification of Cochannel Signals Using Cyclostationary Signal Processing and Deep Learning</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bryan%20Crompton">Bryan Crompton</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Daniel%20Giger"> Daniel Giger</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tanay%20Mehta"> Tanay Mehta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Apurva%20Mody"> Apurva Mody</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The task of classifying radio frequency (RF) signals has seen recent success in employing deep neural network models. In this work, we present a combined signal processing and machine learning approach to signal classification for cochannel anomalous signals. The power spectral density and cyclostationary signal processing features of a captured signal are computed and fed into a neural net to produce a classification decision. Our combined signal preprocessing and machine learning approach allows for simpler neural networks with fast training times and small computational resource requirements for inference with longer preprocessing time. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=signal%20processing" title="signal processing">signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title=" machine learning"> machine learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cyclostationary%20signal%20processing" title=" cyclostationary signal processing"> cyclostationary signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=signal%20classification" title=" signal classification"> signal classification</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164958/classification-of-cochannel-signals-using-cyclostationary-signal-processing-and-deep-learning" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164958.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">107</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4073</span> Linear Frequency Modulation-Frequency Shift Keying Radar with Compressive Sensing</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ho%20Jeong%20Jin">Ho Jeong Jin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chang%20Won%20Seo"> Chang Won Seo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Choon%20Sik%20Cho"> Choon Sik Cho</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bong%20Yong%20Choi"> Bong Yong Choi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kwang%20Kyun%20Na"> Kwang Kyun Na</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sang%20Rok%20Lee"> Sang Rok Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a radar signal processing technique using the LFM-FSK (Linear Frequency Modulation-Frequency Shift Keying) is proposed for reducing the false alarm rate based on the compressive sensing. The LFM-FSK method combines FMCW (Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) signal with FSK (Frequency Shift Keying). This shows an advantage which can suppress the ghost phenomenon without the complicated CFAR (Constant False Alarm Rate) algorithm. Moreover, the parametric sparse algorithm applying the compressive sensing that restores signals efficiently with respect to the incomplete data samples is also integrated, leading to reducing the burden of ADC in the receiver of radars. 24 GHz FMCW signal is applied and tested in the real environment with FSK modulated data for verifying the proposed algorithm along with the compressive sensing. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compressive%20sensing" title="compressive sensing">compressive sensing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=LFM-FSK%20radar" title=" LFM-FSK radar"> LFM-FSK radar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radar%20signal%20processing" title=" radar signal processing"> radar signal processing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sparse%20algorithm" title=" sparse algorithm"> sparse algorithm</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51309/linear-frequency-modulation-frequency-shift-keying-radar-with-compressive-sensing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51309.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">481</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4072</span> 70% Ultra-Wide Tuning CMOS VCO Based on Magnetic Energy Adjustment</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tai-Hsing%20Lee">Tai-Hsing Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zhe-Wei%20Lin"> Zhe-Wei Lin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper demonstrates an ultra-wide tuning VCO implemented by CMOS 0.18μm process technology. Despite the government introduction of free screening services throughout the country, patronage still remains low and lack of knowledge high. Given the critical role mass media plays in relaying different information to the public including health and its influence on health behaviours, the study sought to analyse Malawi media coverage of the disease and its effectiveness. The findings of the study will help inform media advocacy directed at changing any coverage impeding the effective dissemination of cervical cancer message which consequently will help increase awareness and accessing of screening behaviours among women. A content analysis of 29 newspapers and promotional messages on cervical from a local radio station was conducted for the period from 2012 to 2015. Overall the results showed media coverage in terms of content and frequency increased for the four-year period. However, of concern was the quality of information both media presented to the public. The lapse in information provided means there is little education taking place through the media which could be contributing to the knowledge gap the women have thereby affecting their decision to screen. Also lack of adequate funding to media institutions and lack of collaboration between media institutions and stakeholders involved in the fight against the disease were noted as other contributing factors to low coverage of the disease. Designing messages that are not only informative and educative but also innovative may help increase awareness; improve the knowledge gap and potential adoption of preventive screening behaviour by Malawian women. Conversely, good communication between the media institutions and researchers involved in the fight against the disease through the channelling of new findings back to the public as well as increasing funding towards similar cause should be considered. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cervical%20cancer" title="cervical cancer">cervical cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=effectiveness" title=" effectiveness"> effectiveness</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=media%20coverage" title=" media coverage"> media coverage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=screening" title=" screening"> screening</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83181/media-coverage-of-cervical-cancer-in-malawi-a-national-sample-of-newspapers-and-a-radio-station" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83181.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">197</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4070</span> Image Based Landing Solutions for Large Passenger Aircraft</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thierry%20Sammour%20Sawaya">Thierry Sammour Sawaya</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Heikki%20Deschacht"> Heikki Deschacht</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In commercial aircraft operations, almost half of the accidents happen during approach or landing phases. Automatic guidance and automatic landings have proven to bring significant safety value added for this challenging landing phase. This is why Airbus and ScioTeq have decided to work together to explore the capability of image-based landing solutions as additional landing aids to further expand the possibility to perform automatic approach and landing to runways where the current guiding systems are either not fitted or not optimum. Current systems for automated landing often depend on radio signals provided by airport ground infrastructure on the airport or satellite coverage. In addition, these radio signals may not always be available with the integrity and performance required for safe automatic landing. Being independent from these radio signals would widen the operations possibilities and increase the number of automated landings. Airbus and ScioTeq are joining their expertise in the field of Computer Vision in the European Program called Clean Sky 2 Large Passenger Aircraft, in which they are leading the IMBALS (IMage BAsed Landing Solutions) project. The ultimate goal of this project is to demonstrate, develop, validate and verify a certifiable automatic landing system guiding an airplane during the approach and landing phases based on an onboard camera system capturing images, enabling automatic landing independent from radio signals and without precision instrument for landing. In the frame of this project, ScioTeq is responsible for the development of the Image Processing Platform (IPP), while Airbus is responsible for defining the functional and system requirements as well as the testing and integration of the developed equipment in a Large Passenger Aircraft representative environment. The aim of this paper will be to describe the system as well as the associated methods and tools developed for validation and verification. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aircraft%20landing%20system" title="aircraft landing system">aircraft landing system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aircraft%20safety" title=" aircraft safety"> aircraft safety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=autoland" title=" autoland"> autoland</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=avionic%20system" title=" avionic system"> avionic system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computer%20vision" title=" computer vision"> computer vision</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=image%20processing" title=" image processing"> image processing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157558/image-based-landing-solutions-for-large-passenger-aircraft" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157558.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">101</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4069</span> Structural Determination of Nanocrystalline Si Films Using Raman Spectroscopy and the Ellipsometry</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Kefif">K. Raman spectroscopy was applied to investigate the effect of the argon gas diluted in hydrogen, on the structural properties and the evolution of the micro structure in the films. Raman peak position, intensity and line width were used to characterize the quality and the percentage of the crystallites in the films. The results of this investigation suggest the existence of a threshold dilution around a gas mixture of argon (40%) and hydrogen (60%) for which the crystallization occurs, even at low deposition temperatures. The main objective of this work was to estimate the integrated precipitable water vapour (IPWV) using ground GPS and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Radio Occultation (RO) to study spatial-temporal variability. For LEO-GPS RO, we used Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate (COSMIC) datasets. We estimated the daily and monthly mean of IPWV using six selected ground-based GPS stations over a period of range from 2012 to 2016 (i.e. five-years period). The main perspective for selecting the range period from 2012 to 2016 is that, continuous data were available during these periods at all Ethiopian GPS stations. We studied temporal, seasonal, diurnal, and vertical variations of precipitable water vapour using GPS observables extracted from the precise geodetic GAMIT-GLOBK software package. Finally, we determined the cross-correlation of our GPS-derived IPWV values with those of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) ERA-40 Interim reanalysis and of the second generation National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) model ensemble Forecast System Reforecast (GEFS/R) for validation and static comparison. There are higher values of the IPWV range from 30 to 37.5 millimetres (mm) in Gambela and Southern Regions of Ethiopia. Some parts of Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia regions had low IPWV ranges from 8.62 to 15.27 mm. The correlation coefficient between GPS-derived IPWV with ECMWF and GEFS/R exceeds 90%. We conclude that there are highly temporal, seasonal, diurnal, and vertical variations of precipitable water vapour in the study area. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GNSS" title="GNSS">GNSS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radio%20occultation" title=" radio occultation"> radio occultation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=atmosphere" title=" atmosphere"> atmosphere</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=precipitable%20water%20vapour" title=" precipitable water vapour"> precipitable water vapour</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168117/estimating-precipitable-water-vapour-using-the-global-positioning-system-and-radio-occultation-over-ethiopian-regions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168117.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">86</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4067</span> Application of Statistical Linearized Models for Investigations of Digital Dynamic Pulse-Frequency Control Systems</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=B.%20H.%20Aitchanov">B. Primary data was collected from 120 randomly selected cassava farmers using multi-stage sampling technique. A structured questionnaire and interview schedule was employed to generate data. Data were analyzed using descriptive (frequency, mean and percentage) and inferential statistics (OLS (ordinary least square) and Chi-square). The result revealed that majority (78.3%) were within the age range of 21-50 years implying that the respondents were within the active age for maximum production. 96.8% of the respondents had one form of formal education or the other. The sources of ICT facilities readily available in area were radio(84.2%), television(64.2%) and mobile phone(90.8%) with the latter being the most relied upon for cassava farming. Most of the farmers were aware (98.3%) and had access (95.8%) to these ICT facilities. The dependence on mobile phone and radio were highly relevant in cassava stem selection, land selection, land preparation, cassava planting technique, fertilizer application and pest and disease management. The value of coefficient of determination (R2) indicated an 89.1% variation in the output of cassava farmers explained by the inputs indicated in the regression model implying that, there is a positive and significant relationship between the inputs and output. The results also indicated that labour, fertilizer and farm size were significant at 1% level of probability while ICT use was significant at 10%. Further findings showed that finance (78.3%) was the major constraint associated with ICT use. Recommendations were made on strengthening the use of ICT especially contemporary ones like the computer and internet among farmers for easy information sourcing which can boost agricultural production, improve livelihood and subsequently food security. This may be achieved by providing credit or subsidies and information centres like telecentres and cyber cafes through government assistance or partnership. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ICT" title="ICT">ICT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cassava%20farmers" title=" cassava farmers"> cassava farmers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inputs" title=" inputs"> inputs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=output" title=" output"> output</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37874/effect-of-information-and-communication-technology-ict-usage-by-cassava-farmers-in-otukpo-local-government-area-of-benue-state-nigeria" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37874.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">311</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4063</span> Nonlinear Optical Properties for Three Level Atoms at Resonance and Off-Resonance with Laser Coupled Beams</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Suad%20M.%20Abuzariba">Suad M. The proposed topology based on the series-parallel half-bridge resonant inverter is described. It can operate with Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS). At the resonant frequency, the secondary current is amplified over the heating coil with small switching angle, which keeps the reactive power low and permits heating with small current through the resonant inductor and the transformer. The operation and control principle of the proposed high frequency inverter is described and verified through simulated and experimental results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=induction%20heating" title="induction heating">induction heating</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inverter" title=" inverter"> inverter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20frequency" title=" high frequency"> high frequency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=resonant" title=" resonant"> resonant</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8100/high-frequency-half-bridge-inverter-applied-to-induction-heating" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/8100.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">464</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4061</span> An Ontology for Semantic Enrichment of RFID Systems</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Haitham%20S.%20Hamza">Haitham S. Naturally, business applications would require the deployment of various RFID systems that are developed by different vendors and use various data formats. This heterogeneity poses a real challenge in developing large-scale IoT systems with RFID as integration is becoming very complex and challenging. Semantic integration is a key approach to deal with this challenge. To do so, ontology for RFID systems need to be developed in order to annotated semantically RFID systems, and hence, facilitate their integration. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose ontology for RFID systems. The proposed ontology can be used to semantically enrich RFID systems, and hence, improve their usage and reasoning. The usage of the proposed ontology is explained through a simple scenario in the health care domain. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RFID" title="RFID">RFID</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=semantic%20technology" title=" semantic technology"> semantic technology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ontology" title=" ontology"> ontology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sparql%20query%20language" title=" sparql query language"> sparql query language</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heterogeneity" title=" heterogeneity"> heterogeneity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/39376/an-ontology-for-semantic-enrichment-of-rfid-systems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/39376.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">471</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4060</span> Neural Network Based Fluctuation Frequency Control in PV-Diesel Hybrid Power System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Heri%20Suryoatmojo">Heri Suryoatmojo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adi%20Kurniawan"> Adi Kurniawan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Feby%20A.%20Pamuji"> Feby A. PV output power fluctuates due to uncertainty condition of temperature and sun irradiance. When the penetration of PV power is large, the reliability of the power utility will be disturbed and seriously impact the unstable frequency of system. Therefore, designing a robust frequency controller in PV-diesel hybrid power system is very important. This paper proposes new method of frequency control application in hybrid PV-diesel system based on artificial neural network (ANN). This method can minimize the frequency deviation without smoothing PV output power that controlled by maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method. The neural network algorithm controller considers average irradiance, change of irradiance and frequency deviation. In order the show the effectiveness of proposed algorithm, the addition of battery as energy storage system is also presented. To validate the proposed method, the results of proposed system are compared with the results of similar system using MPPT only. The simulation results show that the proposed method able to suppress frequency deviation smaller compared to the results of system using MPPT only. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20storage%20system" title="energy storage system">energy storage system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency%20deviation" title=" frequency deviation"> frequency deviation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20power%20generation" title=" hybrid power generation"> hybrid power generation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neural%20network%20algorithm" title=" neural network algorithm"> neural network algorithm</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4960/neural-network-based-fluctuation-frequency-control-in-pv-diesel-hybrid-power-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4960.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">502</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4059</span> An Efficient Digital Baseband ASIC for Wireless Biomedical Signals Monitoring</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kah-Hyong%20Chang">Kah-Hyong Chang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xin%20Liu"> Xin Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jia%20Hao%20Cheong"> Jia Hao Cheong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saisundar%20Sankaranarayanan"> Saisundar Sankaranarayanan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dexing%20Pang"> Dexing Pang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hongzhao%20Zheng"> Hongzhao Zheng</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A digital baseband Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) is developed for a microchip transponder to transmit signals and temperature levels from biomedical monitoring devices. However, if the flow ratio is controlled well, the ON/OFF ratio can reach 104, and the set voltage is controlled below 3v. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RRAM" title="RRAM">RRAM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metal%20filament" title=" metal filament"> metal filament</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HfO%E2%82%82" title=" HfO₂"> HfO₂</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cu%20electrode" title=" Cu electrode"> Cu electrode</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183325/optimization-of-hfo2-deposition-of-cu-electrode-based-rram-device" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183325.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">52</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4056</span> Design of a Compact Microstrip Patch Antenna for LTE Applications by Applying FDSC Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Settapong%20Malisuwan">Settapong Malisuwan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jesada%20Sivaraks"> Jesada Sivaraks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peerawat%20Promkladpanao"> Peerawat Promkladpanao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nattakit%20Suriyakrai"> Nattakit Suriyakrai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Navneet%20Madan"> Navneet Madan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, a compact microstrip patch antenna is designed for mobile LTE applications by applying the frequency-dependent Smith-Chart (FDSC) model. It was found that the positive RSL varied on average between 9.82 and 19.96cm and the negative RSL varied on average between -16.62 and -9.02cm. The maximum positive RSL varied on average between 102.8 and 265.5cm with the maximum negative RSL varied on average between -250.4 and -66.4cm. It is seen that the biggest positive RSL ere appeared in the summer months and the biggest negative RSL ere appeared in the winter months. The cumulative frequency of RSL less than 50 cm occurred between 95 and 99% of the times while the frequency of RSL higher than 100 cm accounted for between 0.01 and 0.2%. It also was found that the cumulative frequency of duration of RSL less than 24 hours occurred between 90 and 99% while the frequency of duration longer than 72 hours was in the order of 0.1 and 1%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coast%20of%20Vietnam" title="coast of Vietnam">coast of Vietnam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20sea%20level" title=" residual sea level"> residual sea level</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20water" title=" residual water"> residual water</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surge" title=" surge"> surge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cumulative%20frequency" title=" cumulative frequency"> cumulative frequency</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2061/some-statistical-properties-of-residual-sea-level-along-the-coast-of-vietnam" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2061.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">290</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4054</span> Deployment of Beyond 4G Wireless Communication Networks with Carrier Aggregation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bahram%20Khan">Bahram Khan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anderson%20Rocha%20Ramos"> Anderson Rocha Ramos</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rui%20R.%20Paulo"> Rui R. Mobile internet users are giving more attention to their own experiences, especially in terms of communication reliability, high data rates and service stability on move. This increase in the demand is causing saturation of existing radio frequency bands. To address these challenges, researchers are investigating the best approaches, Carrier Aggregation (CA) is one of the newest innovations, which seems to fulfill the demands of the future spectrum, also CA is one the most important feature for Long Term Evolution - Advanced (LTE-Advanced). For this purpose to get the upcoming International Mobile Telecommunication Advanced (IMT-Advanced) mobile requirements (1 Gb/s peak data rate), the CA scheme is presented by 3GPP, which would sustain a high data rate using widespread frequency bandwidth up to 100 MHz. Technical issues such as aggregation structure, its implementations, deployment scenarios, control signal techniques, and challenges for CA technique in LTE-Advanced, with consideration of backward compatibility, are highlighted in this paper. Also, performance evaluation in macro-cellular scenarios through a simulation approach is presented, which shows the benefits of applying CA, low-complexity multi-band schedulers in service quality, system capacity enhancement and concluded that enhanced multi-band scheduler is less complex than the general multi-band scheduler, which performs better for a cell radius longer than 1800 m (and a PLR threshold of 2%). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=component%20carrier" title="component carrier">component carrier</a>,
