She received the Ph.D. degree from the <a href="http://sce.carleton.ca/">Department of Systems and Computer Engineering</a>, <a href="http://www.carleton.ca/">Carleton University</a>, Ottawa, Canada, in 2002. She was an <a href="http://www.nserc.ca/">NSERC</a> Postdoctoral Fellow from 2003 to 2005 at the <a href="http://www.missouri.edu/">University of Missouri-Columbia</a>. </p> <p> In fall 2005, she joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the <a href="http://www.mst.edu/">Missouri University of Science and Technology</a> where she was promoted to associate professor in 2011 and full professor in 2015. She held the Wilkens' Missouri Telecommunications Endowed Professor position for 2017 - 2018 at Missouri S&T. </p> <p> She joined Lehigh University in Aug. 2018 as a professor in the ECE department. Her research interests include underwater cyber-physical systems, real-time embedded systems and signal processing, wireless communications, and wireless sensor networks. She has served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for many <a href="http://www.ieee.org/">IEEE </a> international conferences, including <a href="http://www.ieeevtc.org/"> IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference</a> Fall 2008, <a href="http://www.comsoc.org/confs/globecom">IEEE GlobeCom</a>, and <a href="http://www.comsoc.org/confs/icc">IEEE ICC</a>, <a href="http://www.comsoc.org/confs/wcnc">IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference</a>, and <a href="http://www.ieeevtc.org/">IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference</a> etc. </p> <p> She served as an Associate Editor for <a href="http://www.comsoc.org/pubs/jrnal/twc.html">IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications</a> 2006-2008 and <a href="https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tvt-ieee"> IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology</a> 2008-2016. She is currently Associate Editor for the <a href="http://www.ieeeoes.org/page.cfm/cat/48/Description-of-Journal/"> IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering</a> since 2016. She is the recipient of an <a href="http://www.nsf.gov/">NSF</a> <a href="http://news.mst.edu/2009/02/below_the_surface_st_professor.html"> CAREER award</a> in 2009.
