One of them is the difficulty in estimating costs. In<br \/>\r\nparticular, the design effort required in a project impacts resource<br \/>\r\nrequirements and lead-time, and consequently the final cost. This<br \/>\r\npaper presents the findings of a case study conducted for recognized<br \/>\r\nglobal leader in the design and manufacturing of aircraft engines. The<br \/>\r\nstudy models parametric cost estimation relationships to estimate the<br \/>\r\ndesign effort of integrated blade-rotor low-pressure compressor fans.<br \/>\r\nSeveral effort drivers are selected to model the relationship.<br \/>\r\nComparative analyses of three types of models are conducted. The<br \/>\r\nmodel with the best accuracy and significance in design estimation is<br \/>\r\nretained.<\/p>\r\n","references":"<p>[1] AIAC, Aerospace Industries Association of Canada,\r\n2012 http:\/\/www.aiac.ca\/uploadedFiles\/Resources_and_Publications\/Ind\r\nustry_Statistics\/Revised%202010%20Stats_January%2025%202011_F\r\nV.pdf.Latest access 04\/07\/13\r\n[2] Statistics Canada, 2012 http:\/\/www.servicecanada.gc.ca\/eng\/qc\/job_\r\nfutures\/statistics\/2146.shtml, Latest access 04\/07\/13\r\n[3] A.
