And wherever he enters, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>Say to the master of the house, Our Teacher says, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And behold, he will show you an upper room, large and furnished; there make ready. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And they went and found just as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And when the time came, Jesus came and sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And he said to them, I have desired with desire to eat this passover with you before I suffer; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>For I say to you, that henceforth, I will not eat it, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And he took the cup and gave thanks and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And he took bread and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them and said, This is my body, which is given for your sake; this do in remembrance of me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And likewise also the cup, after they had eaten the supper, he said, This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>But behold, the hand of him who is to betray me is on the table. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And the Son of man will go, just as he has been destined; but woe to the man by whose hand he will be betrayed! <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And they began to enquire among themselves, which one of them was to do this act.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>There was also a dispute among them, as to who is the greatest among them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>Jesus said to them, The kings of the Gentiles are also their owners; and those who rule over them are called benefactors. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>But not so with you; but he who is great among you, let him be the least, and he who is a leader be like a minister. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>For who is greater, he who sits down or he who serves? Is it not he who sits down? but I am among you as one who serves.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>You are those who have remained with me, throughout my trials. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And I promise you, just as my Father has promised me, a kingdom, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>That you may eat and drink at the table in my kingdom; and you will sit on chairs, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And Jesus said to Simon, Simon, behold Satan wants to sift all of you as wheat; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>But I have made supplication for you that your faith may not weaken; and even you in time will repent, and strengthen your brethren. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>Simon said to him, My Lord, I am ready with you, even for the prison and for death. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>Jesus said to him, I say to you, Simon, the cock will not crow today, until you have denied three times that you know me.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And he said to them, When I sent you out without purses, and without bags, and shoes, did you lack anything? They said to him, Not a thing. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>He said to them, From now on he who has purses, let him take them, and the bag likewise; and he who has no sword, let him sell his robe and buy for himself a sword. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>For I say to you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, He will be numbered among the wicked; for all the things concerning me will be fulfilled. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>And they said to him, Our Lord, behold here are two swords. He said to them, That is enough.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And he went out and went away, as it was his custom, to the Mount of the Home of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And when he arrived at a place, he said to them, Pray that you may not enter into temptation. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And he separated from them, about the distance of a stone&#8217;s throw, and he kneeled down, and prayed, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>Saying, O Father, if you will, let this cup pass from me; but not as I will, but your will be done. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, to strengthen him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-44.htm#aramaic"><b>44</b></a></span>And he was in fear, and prayed earnestly; and his sweat became like drops of blood; and he fell down upon the ground. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-45.htm#aramaic"><b>45</b></a></span>Then he rose up from his prayer, and came to his disciples, and found them sleeping because of distress. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-46.htm#aramaic"><b>46</b></a></span>And he said to them, Why do you sleep? rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-47.htm#aramaic"><b>47</b></a></span>While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, coming before them; and he drew near to Jesus and kissed him. For this was the sign he had given them, He whom I kiss, it is he. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-48.htm#aramaic"><b>48</b></a></span>Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-49.htm#aramaic"><b>49</b></a></span>When those who were with him saw what happened, they said to him, Our Lord, shall we smite them with swords? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-50.htm#aramaic"><b>50</b></a></span>And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-51.htm#aramaic"><b>51</b></a></span>But Jesus answered and said, It is enough for the present. And he touched the ear of him who was wounded, and healed it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-52.htm#aramaic"><b>52</b></a></span>And Jesus said to the high priests and the elders and the officers of the temple, who had come against him, Have you come out against me to arrest me with swords and staves, as if you were against a bandit? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-53.htm#aramaic"><b>53</b></a></span>I was with you every day in the temple, and you did not even point your hands at me; but this is your turn, and the power of darkness.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-54.htm#aramaic"><b>54</b></a></span>And they arrested him, and brought him to the house of the high priest. And Simon followed him afar off. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-55.htm#aramaic"><b>55</b></a></span>And they kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard, and they sat around it; and Simon also sat among them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-56.htm#aramaic"><b>56</b></a></span>And a young woman saw him sitting by the fire, and she looked at him and said, This man also was with him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-57.htm#aramaic"><b>57</b></a></span>But he denied, and said, Woman, I do not know him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-58.htm#aramaic"><b>58</b></a></span>And after a little while, another saw him, and said to him, You also are one of them. But Peter said, I am not. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-59.htm#aramaic"><b>59</b></a></span>And after an hour, another one argued and said, Truly, this man also was with him; for he is also a Galilean. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-60.htm#aramaic"><b>60</b></a></span>Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are saying. And immediately while he was still speaking, the cock crew. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-61.htm#aramaic"><b>61</b></a></span>And Jesus turned and looked at Peter. And Simon remembered the word of our Lord, that he said to him, Before the cock crows you will deny me three times. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-62.htm#aramaic"><b>62</b></a></span>And Simon went outside and wept bitterly.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-63.htm#aramaic"><b>63</b></a></span>And the men who held Jesus mocked him, <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-64.htm#aramaic"><b>64</b></a></span>And they covered his head, and smote him on his face, saying, Prophesy, who has struck you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-65.htm#aramaic"><b>65</b></a></span>And many other things they blasphemed and said against him.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-66.htm#aramaic"><b>66</b></a></span>As soon as it was daybreak, the elders and the high priests and the scribes gathered together, and brought him up to their council chamber. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-67.htm#aramaic"><b>67</b></a></span>And they said to him, If you are the Christ, tell us. He said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-68.htm#aramaic"><b>68</b></a></span>And if I ask you, you will not answer me nor release me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-69.htm#aramaic"><b>69</b></a></span>From henceforth the Son of man will sit at the right hand of the power of God. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/luke/22-70.htm#aramaic"><b>70</b></a></span>And they all said, Are you then the Son of God?
