لکھنے والے کے وہم و گمان میں بھی وہ بات نہیں ہوتی جو لکھنے کی مہارت میں کمی کی وجہ سے پڑھنے والوں کو غلط فہمی میں ڈال دیتی ہے۔ میں نے گزشتہ سے پیوستہ روز’’پی ایف یو جے‘‘ سے ایک گزارش ،کے عنوان سے کالم لکھا، جس کا واحد مقصد احفاظ الرحمن ایسی عظیم شخصیت کو خراج تحسین پیش کرنا تھا، جنہوں نے آمریت کے زمانے میں قلم کا قرض جیل، صوبہ بدری، اور دوسری صعوبتوں کی صورت میں برداشت کیا۔ اس کے علاوہ ان کی ساری عمر صحافتی کارکنوں کی فلاح و بہبود کے لئے جدوجہد میں گزری ۔ میں نے ان حوالوں سے پی ایف یو جے سے گزارش کی تھی کہ اب وہ 75برس کے ہو گئے ہیں۔ گلے کے کینسر میں بھی مبتلا ہیں، کیوں نہ صحافیوں کی یہ تنظیم اپنے ایک عظیم سپوت کی خدمات کومد نظر رکھتے ہوئے ان کی شایان شان ایک تقریب کا اہتمام کرے۔ یہ سطور لکھتے وقت مجھے خیال آیا کہ ساری عمر ڈیسک پر کام کرنے والوں کی تنخواہیں اتنی قلیل ہوتی ہیں کہ ان کے لئے گزر بسر بھی ایک مسئلہ ہوتا ہے۔ چنانچہ پی ایف یو جے کو چاہیے کہ صرف تقریب منعقد نہ کرے بلکہ یہ بھی پتہ کرے کہ کینسر ایسا مرض تو کروڑ پتیوں کو بھی کنگال کر دیتا ہے کہیں اس مرض سے نمٹنے کے لئے انہیں اپنی برادری کی ضرورت تو نہیں جو اپنے وسیع تعلقات کے حوالے سے بہت کچھ کر سکتی ہے۔ کالم چھپنے کے بعد میں نے محسوس کیا کہ مجھے یہ نہیں لکھنا چاہئے تھا کیونکہ احفاظ نے تو مجھے اپنی خدمات کے حوالے سے کالم لکھنے کے لئے بھی نہیں کہا تھا۔ اور نہ کسی تعاون کی بات کی تھی خود دار اور ضمیر کے قیدی اس شخص نے تو مجھے صرف اپنی کچھ تازہ نظمیں اشاعت کے لئے ارسال کی تھیں۔ اپنا ادبی مجلہ’’محاصر‘‘ میں بند کر چکا ہوں،اور اخبارات پر سنسر کی وجہ سے ان نظموں کی اشاعت ممکن نہیں تھی۔ سو میں نے احفاظ الرحمٰن کی محبت میں وہ کچھ بھی لکھ دیا جس کی انہوں نے خواہش تو کیا کرنا تھی۔ ان کے وہم و گمان میں بھی کسی کے زیر بار ہونا نہیں تھا۔ میں اپنی غلطی محسوس کر کے اس پر وضاحتی کالم لکھنے والا ہی تھا کہ کراچی سے محترم عبدالطیف ابو شامل کا خط موصول ہوگیا جو کے احفاظ کی طرف سے ’’منظور شدہ‘‘ تھا۔ میں آخر میں ذیل میں یہ خط بہت میں ان کی صحافتی خدمات کے اعتراف کے ساتھ ان کی جمہوری اقدار کے فروغ کے لئے جبر کے سامنے سینہ سپر ہونے اور اس راہ میں ان کی قربانیوں کا بھی تذکرہ کیا ہے۔ میرا یہ منصب تو نہیں کہ میں ان کے لکھے پر کوئی بات کر سکوں اور احفاظ الرحمن کی قربانیوں کا مفصل بیان کر سکوں کہ اس کے لئے ایک دفتر درکار ہے۔</p><p>قاسمی صاحب نے بلاشبہ انتہائی خلوص سے اپنے خیالا ت کا اظہار کیا ہے۔ لیکن انہوں نے یہ لکھ کر غضب کیا کہ ’’پی ایف یو جے ان کے کینسرکے علاج پر اٹھنے والے اخراجات کے لئے کچھ کرے، چاہے انہیں نگران حکومت سے بھی مدد لینی پڑے۔‘‘</p><p>میں اس تاثر کی نفی کرنا اپنا فرض سمجھتا ہوں، میں احفاظ الرحمٰن کو گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے جانتا ہی نہیں بلکہ مجھے یہ اعزاز بھی حاصل ہے کہ میں نے ان کی سربراہی میں پرویز مشرف کے دور میں پی ایف یو جے کی تحریک میں بھی حصہ لیا ہے۔ اب میں گزشتہ آٹھ سال سے ان کے ساتھ ایک ہی ادارے میں کام کر رہا ہوں۔ احفاظ الرحمٰن پی ایف یو جے اور کے یو جے کے مختلف عہدوں پر فائز رہے ہیں اور اس تحریک کو عروج پر پہنچایا ، ٹریڈ یونین کے پرچم تلے مزدورں کے حقوق کی جنگ انہوں نے جس بے جگری سے لڑی اور اس کی قیمت چکائی، ان کا خواب تھا کہ وہ ضرور وہ دن دیکھیں گے کہ جب مزدور اور خاص کر قلم کے مزدور بلاجبر اپنے فرائض ادا کریں گے، لیکن ان کا یہ خواب اس وقت بکھر گیا جب انہوں نے پی ایف یو جے پر ابن الوقت ، مفاد و موقع پرست قیادت کو قابض ہوتے دیکھا، یہی وہ وقت تھا جب انہوں نے ان سے اپنی راہیں جدا کرلیں۔ پی ایف یو جے کا ہر آمر کے خلاف کیا کردار رہا، انہوں نے کیسی کیسی قربانیاں دیں اس کی تفصیل ان کی مشہور کتاب ’’صحافت کی سب سے بڑی جنگ‘‘ (جس کا انگریزی ترجمہ بھی آکسفورڈ یونیورسٹی نے شائع کیا ہے ) میں پڑھی جا سکتی ہے۔ اس کتاب سے بہ خوبی اندازہ لگایا جا سکتا ہے کہ جب اپنے نظریات سے کمیٹیڈ قیادت ہو تو وہ ہر قربانی دے کر آگے بڑھتے ہیں، لیکن جب مفاد پرست قیادت مسلط ہو تو تحریکیں کس قدر بودی اور کمزور ہو جاتی ہیں۔ اس کی مثال ہم آج اپنے سامنے دیکھ رہے ہیں۔</p><p>احفاظ الرحمٰن کسی دور میں بھی کسی کے دست نگر نہیں رہے۔ اور آج کینسر سے جنگ کر کے مکمل طور پر صحت یاب ہو چکے ہیں۔ اور برسرروزگار ہیں، انہوں نے خوداری کی کئی شاندار مثالیں قائم کی ہیں ، اس کی تفصیل بہت طویل ہے۔ ان کی ہمت اور حوصلے کی داد دیجیے کہ و ہ اب بھی اپنی کار خود ڈرائیو کرتے ہیں ۔ وہ گزشتہ پچاس سے زائد برس سے صحافت کے پیشے سے منسلک ہیں اور آج بھی گروپ میگزین ایڈیٹر کے طور پر اپنے فرائض تندہی سے ادا کرتے ہیں، ان کی بیگم مہناز رحمن خواتین کے حقوق کی نڈر علم بردار اور ایک مشہور این جی او، عورت فائونڈیشن میں اعلیٰ عہدے پر فائز ہیں۔ ان کا بیٹا پی ایچ ڈی اور بیرون ملک اعلیٰ عہدے پر فائز ہے۔ ان کی بیٹی ڈاکٹر ہیں ۔ کہنا یہ ہے کہ وہ کسی کے دست نگر نہیں ہیں اور انہیں کسی کی بھی امداد کی قطعاً ضرورت نہیں ہے، بلکہ میں اس کی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ وہ تو خود بے کسوں کی مدد کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ جہاں تک کسی پی ایف یو جے کا تعلق ہے ، وہ یک سر اس سے ناتا توڑ چکے ہیں کیوں کہ وہاں مفاد پرستی کا غلبہ ہے۔<br></p><p>عطاالحق قاسمی کے کالم سے جو تاثر پیدا ہوا میں اس کی بہ صد احترام تردید کرنا اپنا فرض سمجھتا ہوں۔</p><p>انہوں نے عطاالحق قاسمی صاحب کو حالت حاضرہ پر اپنی نظمیں محض ان کے رسالے’’محاصر‘‘ کے لئے بہ غرض اشاعت ارسال کی تھیں اور وہ یوسفی صاحب کی رحلت کے بعد قاسمی صاحب کو عصر حاضر کا، اردوکا سب سے بڑا طنز و مزاح نگار قرار دیتے ہیں ۔
