Writers make efforts as the conscience of humanity, to speak to the different human experiences that dawned on the world. In the face of horrifying histories and current international upheavals, some writers call for reconciliation and universal harmony. This paper explores how two contemporary Ghanaian poets try to advocate global coexistence in their works as well as suggest processes of healing and reconciliation worldwide. We undertake this task because there are evidences that African writing contains lots of translations and these bilingual/hybrid texts are very often discussed from a more political/ideological/birds-eye perspective. Since translation is a linguistic phenomenon, it is necessary that they are analyzed using linguistic approaches. We analyzed the translation of proverbs from the source language (Ewe) into the target language (English) in Mawuli Adzei's novel Taboo. We used the Vinay and Darbelnet's Model in translation theory for the study. The research question that followed was; which is the best predictor of Cloud computing usage given a set of determinants? The study involved 116 respondents using simple random sampling. The results revealed that performance expectancy was the strongest predictor of the intention to adopt Cloud computing when compared to other constructs. There was a strong positive correlation of r = +0.989 between 'the use of Internet for learning purposes in enhancing the effectiveness of learning' and 'being taught in their studies through Internet devices'. In Frank Norris’ McTeague, some characters degenerate to the level of the animal, displaying brutality and striving like predators for survival. This study sought to investigate the animal metaphor as an image pattern in McTeague. The study used textual analysis as a design to analyse, interpret and evaluate McTeague. The study concluded that Joseph Le Conte’s theory of Evolution and Cesare Lombroso’s theory of criminology influenced the writing of McTeague. Thus, there is extensive use of the animal metaphor as an image pattern through the characters in the novel: McTeague, Trina, Marcus and Zerkow. They are metaphorically hustled up and down the evolutionary ladder between the levels of the animal and the human. Consequently, these characters degenerate to metaphorical animals and constitute an image pattern in the novel. In Frank Norris’ McTeague, some characters degenerate to the level of the animal, displaying brutality and striving like predators for survival. This study sought to investigate the animal metaphor as an image pattern in McTeague. The study used textual analysis as a design to analyse, interpret and evaluate McTeague. The study concluded that Joseph Le Conte’s theory of Evolution and Cesare Lombroso’s theory of criminology influenced the writing of McTeague. Thus, there is extensive use of the animal metaphor as an image pattern through the characters in the novel: McTeague, Trina, Marcus and Zerkow. They are metaphorically hustled up and down the evolutionary ladder between the levels of the animal and the human.
