class="PageStory"> <p>Members of a Rotary club are busy recovering after a period raising money through art exhibitions and auctions.</p><p>Swift on the heels of their antiques and collectables valuation day in October came the 28th Swaffham Rotary Club art exhibition two weekends later.</p><p>Valuers from Keys Auctioneers of Aylsham brought their expertise along to St Peter and St Paul's Church in Swaffham, and appraised many items submitted by visitors - some of which were put in by their owners for auction.</p><figure><img class="rthmb" src="data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg 2022</figcaption></figure><p>At Swaffham Assembly Rooms two weekends later, stands were erected, pictures delivered by artists and hung, and cakes and refreshments prepared.</p><p>The doors were flung open at 7pm for a Friday preview evening and the exhibition was accessible to all for the next two days.</p><p>Visitors who bought items from the show or purchased raffle tickets not only supported local artists but also contributed to the Rotary charities fund, enabling Swaffham’s club to help some great causes.</p><p>The club was very pleased that the two events raised around £4,000. Members thanked all who came along, and also Keys Auctioneers for its sponsorship.</p><p>They were also interested to hear from George Karaiskou, the senior fundraising manager for the Caring Together charity, when he recently came to talk to them.</p><p>With the aim of supporting unpaid carers of all ages, the charity provides a helpline, an advice line, and a ‘what-if’ plan for
