Descended from Benjamin, the youngest son of Jacob and Rachel, the tribe is noted for its valor, resilience, and complex history within the narrative of the Israelites.<br><br><b>Genealogy and Early History</b><br><br>Benjamin was the twelfth and youngest son of Jacob, born to Rachel, Jacob's favored wife. However, Jacob renames him Benjamin, meaning "son of the right hand."
