they shall explore the land of Canaan that I give to the children of Israel; every Leader that is among them, send one man from the tribe of his fathers.&#8221; <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And Moshe sent them from the wilderness of Paran by the word of the mouth of LORD JEHOVAH; And they were strengthened and carried some fruit of the land, and the days were the days of first fruits of grapes.<p> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And they went up and explored the land from the wilderness of Tsin and unto to Rekhob, which is in the entrance of Khamath. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And they came up to the south and they came unto Khebron and Akhiman; and Shishay and Tulmay, sons of the giants, were there, and Khebron was built seven years before Tsaan that is in Egypt.<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And they came unto the valley of SegulaClusters and they cut from there a vine shoot and one cluster of grapes and they took it away on a pole between two and some pomegranates and some figs. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And they called that place the valley of SegulaClusters because of the clusters that sons of Israel had picked from there.<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And they returned from the exploring of the land after forty days. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And they came to Moshe and to Ahron and to all of the assembly of the children of Israel to the wilderness of Paran, to Raqem, and they returned a report to him and to all of the assembly, and they showed them the fruit of the land. <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And they related to him and they said: &#8220;We went on to the land where you sent us, and it flows milk and honey and these are its fruit. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>However the people dwelling in the land is strong and the towns are fortified and very great, also we saw the sons of the giants there. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Amelik dwells in the land of the south and the Hittites and Yebusites and Amorites dwell in the mountains and Canaanites dwelt on the side of the sea and upon the side of the Jordan.&#8221;<p> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And Kalab silenced the people in the name of Moshe and said: &#8220;Let us surely go up and possess it because we can prevail.&#8221; <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>And those who spied out sent out the report of the land to the children of Israel and they said to them: &#8220;The land in which we passed through and spied out, the land consumes its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw within it are men of stature. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/numbers/13-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And there we saw giants, sons of giants who are from the giants, and we were in their eyes like grasshoppers, thus we were in their eyes.&#8221;
