You are to say such and such to her. Why this pretense? I have been sent to you with bad news.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="btext2">But when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, he said, &#8220;Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another? For I am charged with unbearable news for you.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="btext3">When Ahijah heard the sound of her feet coming in the doorway, he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam, why do you pretend to be another woman? For I am sent to you with a harsh message.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="btext4">And it was <i>so</i>, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself <i>to be</i> another? for I <i>am</i> sent to thee <i>with</i> heavy <i>tidings</i>.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="btext5">When Ahijah heard the sound of her feet entering the door, he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam! Why are you disguised? You have made for yourself other gods, idols made of metal; you have aroused my anger and turned your back on me.</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="btext2">but you have done evil above all who were before you and have gone and made for yourself other gods and metal images, provoking me to anger, and have cast me behind your back,</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="btext3">you also have done more evil than all who were before you, and have gone and made for yourself other gods and molten images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back--</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="btext4">But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="btext5">You behaved more wickedly than all who were before you. I will cut off from Jeroboam every last male in Israel--slave or free. I will burn up the house of Jeroboam as one burns dung, until it is all gone.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="btext2">therefore behold, I will bring harm upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, both bond and free in Israel, and will burn up the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns up dung until it is all gone.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="btext3">therefore behold, I am bringing calamity on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male person, both bond and free in Israel, and I will make a clean sweep of the house of Jeroboam, as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="btext4">Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, <i>and</i> him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.</span></td><td width="20%" class="even" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="btext5">Because of all this, I am about to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam: I will eliminate all of Jeroboam's males, both slave and free, in Israel; I will sweep away the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone! </span></td></tr></table> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"><tr><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="btext1">Dogs will eat those belonging to Jeroboam who die in the city, and the birds will feed on those who die in the country. The LORD has spoken!'</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="btext2">Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone who dies in the open country the birds of the heavens shall eat, for the LORD has spoken it.&#8221;&#8217;</span></td><td width="20%" class="odd" valign="top"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/14-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="btext3">"Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city the dogs will eat.
