<p>鳥取大学卒業。米国ロックフェラー大学留学後、鳥取大学医学部臨床教授、島根大学医学部臨床教授を経て現職。<br /> 医学部の博士課程で初めてポルフィリン症患者さんの診療にあたり、以降40年以上、ポルフィリン症の診断・治療に力を注ぐ。現在も、島根と東京（芝浦スリーワンクリニック）の両方でポルフィリン症の診断・治療、および医療相談（カウンセリング）にあたっている。<br />
