As it is well known, the stadium was severely damaged by the earthquake that hit Athens in 1999 and no football matches had been played there since then. All this ends today, as Aegaleo FC return to their natural home for the match against Aris FC. The marks of the quake are however still very much visible: the main stand of the stadium (Thivon Street) has not been repaired and will most probably have to be torn down. The works that just finished mainly had to do with the newer stand of Makris Street, which can now hold around 2,500 spectators after the installation of plastic seats. Additionally, 1,030 fans may be seated on the smaller south stand (Thessalonikis Street). The stadium has also new floodlights (which will be ready for use in a few weeks) and a new pitch.

Related article:
Aegaleo FC will use Korydallos Stadium as home (3/10/01)
