/> <p> <div class="w3-container w3-white w3-margin w3-row-padding w3-padding"> <div class="w3-left"> <strong>Steven Joubert</strong> is a singer/songwriter/worship leader that has been in the music scene in some form or another for around 20 years now. His first solo release came with 2014's "Holy Spirit," but his newest release comes 10 years later after several other EPs and singles. "House of the Lord" is a worship song with an Americana feel influenced by the likes of NEEDTOBREATHE, Crowder, Mumford and Sons, and the like. The track has a great southern feel with a lot of soul -- which is perfect for Joubert's voice. </p> <p> The instrumentation here is fantastic. Piano and acoustic guitar kick things off, but there is the lightest sounding organ included in the background as well. The song slowly builds as it progresses and hits its peak at the bridge. Full instrumentation is in at this point and a choir joins in with background vocals. The organ solo after the bridge is also a nice touch which brings the instrument into full prominence for the rest of the track. Lyrically, Joubert sings about life's struggles and hardships, but offers a place of worship and refuge. In the chorus he sings, "<em>Take me to the house of the Lord where I was born again; where I'm restored again. Take me to the house of the Lord. No greater love than this; no greater love than His. Take me to the house of the Lord.</em>" It's a simple message we've heard portrayed in other songs, but it's also a great reminder. Joubert's soulful voice also gives a new feeling to this sentiment. </p> <p> Fans of Americana and southern inspired music will enjoy what Steven Joubert has to offer. Those who love NEEDTOBREATHE or similar bands will certainly want to give this new song a listen. This is a classic sound for a reason and Joubert executes it flawlessly.
