Having begun his career in a French electrical control-command company in South Africa, it was during his six-year consultancy period at Accenture (France) that Michel experienced his first large scale event, when he was assigned to Albertville for two years to work on the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. Prior to joining Miller Freeman France in 1998, Michel spent a short time at the Chamber of Commerce of Paris (CCIP) where he embraced the opportunity to expand his experience of the different organisational structures of the trade fair sector in France and in Europe. Following the acquisition of Miller Freeman by RX and subsequent formation of Reed Expositions France in 2001, Michel took on responsibility for the world-leading congress for heart disorder treatments, Cardiostim, and the management of an event portfolio which included Pollutec, a leading environmental exhibition. Over his year’s with RX, Michel has managed a portfolio of events in a variety of sectors including industry, food & hospitality, IT, fitness and healthcare. In 2012 Michel became managing director of Reed Expositions France before being promoted to CEO in 2014, with additional responsibility for RX Italy. In 2020 Michel also became CEO of Reed MIDEM. His passion for business strategy and change management saw him lead the merger of the two businesses, to form RX France, in April 2021. But it was from this experience and over the following years working across West Africa, Latin America, Europe and Japan that Richard truly caught the travel bug that would ultimately lead him to joining RX UK in 2006 as Managing Director of the Travel division. With a background in business management and accountancy, and having previously held senior management roles as Director International Sales, Services and Marketing EMEA for US Airways, as well as a variety of roles in Revenue Management, Pricing and Product Development for United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic, Richard brings plenty of international experience that has proved invaluable for both his first role at RX and successive roles. In 2013 Richard became Chief Executive Officer for the UK business and in 2014 added responsibility for Sub Saharan Africa as well. </span></span></span></span><span><span><span>A common theme is Richard’s desire to work in a business that prides itself on bringing together people from all walks of life for many different reasons, the serendipity of travel and people sparking new opportunities from meeting face to face.
