co-digestion process of crude cheese whey (CCW) with fruit vegetable waste (FVW) for biohydrogen production was investigated in batch and continuous systems, in stirred 1.8 L bioreactors at 37°C. Five different C/N ratios (7, 17, 21, 31, and 46) were tested in batch systems. While, in continuous system eight conditions were evaluated, hydraulic retention time (from 60 to 10 h) and organic load rate (from 21.96 to 155.87 g COD/L d). Data in batch tests showed a maximum specific biohydrogen production rate of 10.68 mmol H2/Lh and a biohydrogen yield of 449.84 mL H2/g COD at a C/N ratio of 21. In continuous co-digestion system, the optimum hydraulic retention time and organic loading rate were 17.5 h and 80.02 g COD/L d, respectively. Under these conditions, the highest volumetric production hydrogen rate (VPHR) and hydrogen yield were 11.02 mmol H2/L h, 800 mL H2/COD, respectively. A pyrosequencing analysis showed that the main acclimated microbial communities for co-digestion studies consisted of Bifidobacterium, with 85.4% of predominance. Hydrogen producing bacteria such as Klebsiella (9.1%), Lactobacillus (0.97%), Citrobacter (0.21%), Enterobacter (0.27%), and Clostridium (0.18%) were less abundant at this culture period. The microbial population structure was correlated with the lactate, acetate, and butyrate profiles obtained. Results demonstrated that the co-digestion of CCW with FVW improves biohydrogen production due to a better nutrient balance and improvement of the system’s buffering capacity. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acclimatation" title="acclimatation">acclimatation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biohydrogen" title=" biohydrogen"> biohydrogen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=co-digestion" title=" co-digestion"> co-digestion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microbial%20community" title=" microbial community"> microbial community</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19282/acclimatation-of-bacterial-communities-for-biohydrogen-production-by-co-digestion-process-in-batch-and-continuous-systems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19282.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">556</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">408</span> Generalization of Tsallis Entropy from a Q-Deformed Arithmetic</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20Juan%20Pe%C3%B1a">J. In this work, from a deformation through a scaling function applied to the differential operator, it is possible to generate a q-deformed calculus as well as a q-deformed arithmetic, which not only allows generalizing the exponential and logarithmic functions but also any other standard function. The updated q-deformed differential operator leads to an updated integral operator under which the functions are integrated together with a weight function. For each differentiable function, it is possible to identify its q-deformed partner, which is useful to generalize other algebraic relations proper of the original functions. As an application of this proposal, in this work, a generalization of exponential and logarithmic functions is studied in such a way that their relationship with the thermodynamic functions, particularly the entropy, allows us to have a q-deformed expression of these. As a result, from a particular scaling function applied to the differential operator, a q-deformed arithmetic is obtained, leading to the generalization of the Tsallis entropy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=q-calculus" title="q-calculus">q-calculus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=q-deformed%20arithmetic" title=" q-deformed arithmetic"> q-deformed arithmetic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=entropy" title=" entropy"> entropy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exponential%20functions" title=" exponential functions"> exponential functions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermodynamic%20functions" title=" thermodynamic functions"> thermodynamic functions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181635/generalization-of-tsallis-entropy-from-a-q-deformed-arithmetic" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/181635.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">78</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">407</span> Schrödinger Equation with Position-Dependent Mass: Staggered Mass Distributions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20J.%20Pe%C3%B1a">J. In addition, these media can also be used to control the optical properties of the nanoparticles, for instance when they are resonant. In this work, the change on electrical properties of a liquid crystal cell by adding TiO₂ nanoparticles on one of the alignment layers has been analyzed. These nanoparticles, with a diameter of 100 nm and spherical shape, were deposited in one of the substrates (ITO + polyimide) by spin-coating in order to produce a homogeneous layer. These substrates were checked using an optical microscope (objective x100) to avoid potential agglomerates. The liquid crystal cell is then fabricated, using one of these substrates and another without nanoparticles, and filled with E7. The study of the electrical response was done through impedance measurements in a long range of frequencies (3 Hz- 6 MHz) and at ambient temperature. Different nanoparticle concentrations were considered, as well as pure E7 and an empty cell for comparison purposes. Results about the effective dielectric permittivity and conductivity are presented along with models of equivalent electric circuits and its physical interpretation. As a summary, it has been observed the clear influence of the presence of the nanoparticles, strongly modifying the electric response of the device. In particular, a variation of both the effective permittivity and the conductivity of the device have been observed. This result requires a deep analysis of the effect of these nanoparticles on the trapping of free ions in the device, allowing a controlled manipulation and frequency tuning of the electrical response of these devices. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alignment%20layer" title="alignment layer">alignment layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electrical%20behavior" title=" electrical behavior"> electrical behavior</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquid%20crystal" title=" liquid crystal"> liquid crystal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TiO%E2%82%82%20nanoparticles" title=" TiO₂ nanoparticles"> TiO₂ nanoparticles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/88386/modifying-the-electrical-properties-of-liquid-crystal-cells-by-including-tio2-nanoparticles-on-a-substrate" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/88386.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">213</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">404</span> Generalized Hyperbolic Functions: Exponential-Type Quantum Interactions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jose%20Juan%20Pe%C3%B1a">Jose Juan Peña</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20Morales"> J. In order to transcend the scope of hyperbolic functions, in this work, a kind of generalized q-deformed hyperbolic functions (g q-dhf) is presented. By a suitable transformation, through the q deformation parameter, it is shown that these g q-dhf can be expressed in terms of their corresponding standard ones besides they can be reduced to the sc q-dhf. As a useful application of the proposed approach, and considering a class of exactly solvable multi-parameter exponential-type potentials, some new q-deformed quantum interactions models that can be used as interesting alternative in quantum physics and quantum states are presented. Furthermore, due that quantum potential models are conditioned on the q-dependence of the parameters that characterize to the exponential-type potentials, it is shown that many specific cases of q-deformed potentials are obtained as particular cases from the proposal. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diatomic%20molecules" title="diatomic molecules">diatomic molecules</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exponential-type%20potentials" title=" exponential-type potentials"> exponential-type potentials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hyperbolic%20functions" title=" hyperbolic functions"> hyperbolic functions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=q-deformed%20potentials" title=" q-deformed potentials"> q-deformed potentials</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/82814/generalized-hyperbolic-functions-exponential-type-quantum-interactions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/82814.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">185</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">403</span> Measuring the Effectiveness of Response Inhibition regarding to Motor Complexity: Evidence from the Stroop Effect</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Germ%C3%A1n%20G%C3%A1lvez-Garc%C3%ADa">Germán Gálvez-García</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marta%20Lavin"> Marta Lavin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javiera%20Pe%C3%B1a"> Javiera Peña</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javier%20Albayay"> Javier Albayay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Claudio%20Bascour"> Claudio Bascour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jesus%20Fernandez-Gomez"> Jesus Fernandez-Gomez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alicia%20P%C3%A9rez-G%C3%A1lvez"> Alicia Pérez-Gálvez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We studied the effectiveness of response inhibition in movements with different degrees of motor complexity when they were executed in isolation and alternately. Sixteen participants performed the Stroop task which was used as a measure of response inhibition. Participants responded by lifting the index finger and reaching the screen with the same finger. Both actions were performed separately and alternately in different experimental blocks. Repeated measures ANOVAs were used to compare reaction time, movement time, kinematic errors and Movement errors across conditions (experimental block, movement, and congruency). Delta plots were constructed to perform distributional analyses of response inhibition and accuracy rate. The effectiveness of response inhibition did not show difference when the movements were performed in separated blocks. Nevertheless, it showed differences when they were performed alternately in the same experimental block, being more effective for the lifting action. This could be due to a competition of the available resources during a more complex scenario which also demands to adopt some strategy to avoid errors. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=response%20inhibition" title="response inhibition">response inhibition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=motor%20complexity" title=" motor complexity"> motor complexity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Stroop%20task" title=" Stroop task"> Stroop task</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=delta%20plots" title=" delta plots"> delta plots</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78372/measuring-the-effectiveness-of-response-inhibition-regarding-to-motor-complexity-evidence-from-the-stroop-effect" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78372.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">394</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">402</span> Application of Transform Fourier for Dynamic Control of Structures with Global Positioning System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20M.%20de%20Luis%20Ruiz">J. Although accelerometers or Global Positioning System (GPS) have been applied for the monitoring of structures under exploitation, the dynamic monitoring during the stage of construction is not common. This research analyzes whether GPS data can be applied to certain dynamic geometric controls of evolving structures. The fundamentals of this work were applied to the New Bridge of Cádiz (Spain), a worldwide milestone in bridge building. GPS data were recorded with an interval of 1 second during the erection of segments and turned to the frequency domain with Fourier transform. The vibration period and amplitude were contrasted with those provided by the finite element model, with differences of less than 10%, which is admissible. This process provides a vibration record of the structure with GPS, avoiding specific equipment. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fourier%20transform" title="Fourier transform">Fourier transform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20position%20system" title=" global position system"> global position system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=operational%20modal%20analysis" title=" operational modal analysis"> operational modal analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20health%20monitoring" title=" structural health monitoring"> structural health monitoring</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109068/application-of-transform-fourier-for-dynamic-control-of-structures-with-global-positioning-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/109068.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">246</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">401</span> COVID-19 Pandemic Influence on Toddlers and Preschoolers’ Screen Time</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juliana%20da%20Silva%20Cardoso">Juliana da Silva Cardoso</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cl%C3%A1udia%20Correia"> Cláudia Correia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rita%20Gomes"> Rita Gomes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carolina%20Fraga"> Carolina Fraga</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In%C3%AAs%20Cascais"> Inês Cascais</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sara%20Monteiro"> Sara Monteiro</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Beatriz%20Teixeira"> Beatriz Teixeira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sandra%20Ribeiro"> Sandra Ribeiro</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carolina%20Andrade"> Carolina Andrade</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cl%C3%A1udia%20Oliveira"> Cláudia Oliveira</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diana%20Gonzaga"> Diana Gonzaga</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Catarina%20Prior"> Catarina Prior</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In%C3%AAs%20Vaz%20Matos"> Inês Vaz Matos</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The average daily screen time (ST) has been increasing in children, even at young ages. This seems to be associated with a higher incidence of neurodevelopmental disorders, and as the time of exposure increases, the greater is the functional impact. This study aims to compare the daily ST of toddlers and preschoolers previously and during the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire was applied by telephone to parents/caregivers of children between 1 and 5 years old, followed up at 4 primary care units belonging to the Group of Primary Health Care Centers of Western Porto, Portugal. 520 children were included: 52.9% male, mean age 39.4 ± 13.9 months. The mean age of first exposure to screens was 13.9 ± 8.0 months, and most of the children were exposed to more than one screen daily. Considering the WHO recommendations, before the COVID-19 pandemic, 385 (74.0%) and 408 (78.5%) children had excessive ST during the week and the weekend, respectively; during the lockdown, these values increased to 495 (95.2%) and 482 (92.7%). Maternal education and both the child's median age and the median age of first exposure to screens had a statistically significant association with excessive ST, with OR 0.2 (p = 0.03, CI 95% 0.07-0.86), OR 1.1 (p = 0.01, 95% CI 1.05-1.14) and OR 0.9 (p = 0.05, 95% CI 0. 87-0.98), respectively. Most children in this sample had a higher than recommended ST, which increased with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. These results are worrisome and point to the need for urgent intervention. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=COVID-19%20pandemic" title="COVID-19 pandemic">COVID-19 pandemic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=preschoolers" title=" preschoolers"> preschoolers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=screen%20time" title=" screen time"> screen time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=toddlers" title=" toddlers"> toddlers</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144290/covid-19-pandemic-influence-on-toddlers-and-preschoolers-screen-time" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/144290.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">216</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">400</span> Flipped Learning Application on the Development of Capabilities for Civil Engineering Education in Labs</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hector%20Barrios-Pi%C3%B1a">Hector Barrios-Piña</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Georgia%20Garc%C3%ADa-Arellano"> Georgia García-Arellano</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Salvador%20Garc%C3%ADa-Rodr%C3%ADguez"> Salvador García-Rodríguez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gerardo%20Bocanegra-Garc%C3%ADa"> Gerardo Bocanegra-García</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shashi%20Kant"> Shashi Kant</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This work shows the methodology of application and the effectiveness of the <em>Flipped Learning</em> technique for Civil Engineering laboratory classes. It was experimented by some of the professors of the Department of Civil Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey while teaching their laboratory classes. A total of 28 videos were created. The videos primarily demonstrate instructions of the experimental practices other than the usage of tools and materials. The technique allowed the students to prepare for their classes in advance. A survey was conducted on the participating professors and students (semester of August-December 2019) to quantify the effectiveness of the <em>Flipped Learning</em> technique. The students reported it as an excellent way of improving their learning aptitude, including self-learning whereas, the professors felt it as an efficient technique for optimizing their class session, which also provided an extra slot for class-interaction. A comparison of grades was analyzed between the students of the traditional classes and with <em>Flipped Learning</em>. It did not distinguish the benefits of <em>Flipped Learning</em>. However, the positive responses from the students and the professors provide an impetus for continuing and promoting the <em>Flipped Learning</em> technique in future classes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flipped%20learning" title="flipped learning">flipped learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laboratory%20classes" title=" laboratory classes"> laboratory classes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=civil%20engineering" title=" civil engineering"> civil engineering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=competences%20development" title=" competences development"> competences development</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124027/flipped-learning-application-on-the-development-of-capabilities-for-civil-engineering-education-in-labs" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124027.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">161</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">399</span> Different Motor Inhibition Processes in Action Selection Stage: A Study with Spatial Stroop Paradigm</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=German%20Galvez-Garcia">German Galvez-Garcia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javier%20Albayay"> Javier Albayay</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Javiera%20Pe%C3%B1a"> Javiera Peña</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marta%20Lavin"> Marta Lavin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=George%20A.%20Michael"> George A. In Experiment 1, we compared the magnitude of the Spatial Stroop effect, which occurs in response selection stage, in two motor actions (lifting vs reaching) when the participants performed both actions in the same block or in different blocks (mixed block vs. pure blocks).Within pure blocks, we obtained faster latencies when lifting actions were performed, but no differences in the magnitude of the Spatial Stroop effect were observed. Within mixed block, we obtained faster latencies as well as bigger-magnitude for Spatial Stroop effect when reaching actions were performed. We concluded that when no action selection is required (the pure blocks condition), inhibition works as a unitary system, whereas in the mixed block condition, where action selection is required, different inhibitory processes take place within a common processing stage. In Experiment 2, we investigated this common processing stage in depth by limiting participants’ available resources, requiring them to engage in a concurrent auditory task within a mixed block condition. The Spatial Stroop effect interacted with Movement as it did in Experiment 1, but it did not significantly interact with available resources (Auditory task x Spatial Stroop effect x Movement interaction). Thus, we concluded that available resources are distributed equally to both inhibition processes; this reinforces the likelihood of there being a common processing stage in which the different inhibitory processes take place. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inhibition%20process" title="inhibition process">inhibition process</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=motor%20processes" title=" motor processes"> motor processes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=selective%20inhibition" title=" selective inhibition"> selective inhibition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dual%20task" title=" dual task"> dual task</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63195/different-motor-inhibition-processes-in-action-selection-stage-a-study-with-spatial-stroop-paradigm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/63195.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">392</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">398</span> Context-Aware Recommender System Using Collaborative Filtering, Content-Based Algorithm and Fuzzy Rules</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xochilt%20Ramirez-Garcia">Xochilt Ramirez-Garcia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mario%20Garcia-Valdez"> Mario Garcia-Valdez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Contextual recommendations are implemented in Recommender Systems to improve user satisfaction, recommender system makes accurate and suitable recommendations for a particular situation reaching personalized recommendations. It nests on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico during summer. To date, there is no information about congenital anomalies in this species, which could be an important factor to be considered as a survival threat. The aim of this study was to determine congenital anomalies in dead embryos and hatchlings of Kemp's ridley sea turtle during 2020 nesting season. Fieldwork was conducted at the 'Campamento Tortugero Barra Norte', on the shores of Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico. A total of 95 nests were evaluated, from which 223 dead embryos and hatchlings were collected. Anomalies were detected by detailed physical examinations. Photographs of each anomaly were taken. From the 223 dead turtles, 213 (95%) showed a congenital anomaly. A total of 53 types of congenital anomalies were found: 22 types on the head region, 21 on the carapace region, 6 on the flipper region, and 4 regarding the entire body. The most prevalent anomaly in the head region was the presence of prefrontal supernumerary scales (42%, 93 occurrences). On the carapace region, the most common anomaly was the presence of supernumerary gular scales (59%, 131 occurrences). The two most common anomalies on the flipper region were amelia in fore flippers and rear bifurcation of flippers (0.9%, 2 occurrences each). The most common anomaly involving the entire body was hypomelanism (35%, 79 occurrences). These results agree with the recent studies on congenital malformations on sea turtles, being the head and the carapace regions the ones with the highest number of congenital anomalies. It is unknown whether the reported anomalies can be related to the death of these individuals. However, it is necessary to develop embryological studies in this species. To our best knowledge, this is the first worldwide report on Kemp’s ridley sea turtle anomalies. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Amelia" title="Amelia">Amelia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypomelanism" title=" hypomelanism"> hypomelanism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=morphology" title=" morphology"> morphology</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supernumerary%20scales" title=" supernumerary scales"> supernumerary scales</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132504/first-approximation-to-congenital-anomalies-in-kemps-ridley-sea-turtle-lepidochelys-kempii-in-veracruz-mexico" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/132504.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">160</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">396</span> Use of Alternative and Complementary Therapies in Patients with Chronic Pain in a Medical Institution in Medellin, Colombia, 2014</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lina%20Mar%C3%ADa%20Mart%C3%ADnez%20S%C3%A1nchez">Lina María Martínez Sánchez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juliana%20Molina%20Valencia"> Juliana Molina Valencia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Esteban%20Vallejo%20Agudelo"> Esteban Vallejo Agudelo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Daniel%20Gallego%20Gonz%C3%A1lez"> Daniel Gallego González</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mar%C3%ADa%20Isabel%20P%C3%A9rez%20Palacio"> María Isabel Pérez Palacio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juan%20Ricardo%20Gaviria%20Garc%C3%ADa"> Juan Ricardo Gaviria García</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mar%C3%ADa%20De%20Los%20%C3%81ngeles%20Rodr%C3%ADguez%20G%C3%A1zquez"> María De Los Ángeles Rodríguez Gázquez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gloria%20In%C3%A9s%20Mart%C3%ADnez%20Dom%C3%ADnguez"> Gloria Inés Martínez Domínguez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Alternative and complementary therapies constitute a vast and complex combination of interventions, philosophies, approaches, and therapies that acquire a holistic healthcare point of view, becoming an alternative for the treatment of patients with chronic pain. Objective: determine the characteristics of the use of alternative and complementary therapies in patients with chronic pain who consulted in a medical institution. Methodology: cross-sectional and descriptive study, with a population of patients that assisted to the outpatient consultation and met the eligibility criteria. Sampling was not conducted. A form was used for the collection of demographic and clinical variables and the Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine Questionnaire (HCAMQ) was validated. The analysis and processing of information was carried out using the SPSS program vr.19. Results: 220 people with chronic pain were included. The average age was 54.7±16.2 years, 78.2% were women, and 75.5% belonged to the socioeconomic strata 1 to 3. Musculoskeletal pain (77.7%), migraine (15%) and neuralgia (9.1%) were the most frequently types of chronic pain. 33.6% of participants have used some kind of alternative and complementary therapy; the most frequent were: homeopathy (14.5%), phytotherapy (12.7%), and acupuncture (11.4%). The total average HCAMQ score for the study group was 30.2±7.0 points, which shows a moderate attitude toward the use of complementary and alternative medicine. The highest scores according to the type of pain were: neuralgia (32.4±5.8), musculoskeletal pain (30.5±6.7), fibromyalgia (29.6±7.3) and migraine (28.5±8.8). The reliability of the HCAMQ was acceptable (Cronbach's α: 0.6). Conclusion: it was noted that the types of chronic pain and the clinical or therapeutic management of patients correspond to the data available in current literature. Despite the moderate attitude toward the use of these alternative and complementary therapies, one of every three patients uses them. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chronic%20pain" title="chronic pain">chronic pain</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=complementary%20therapies" title=" complementary therapies"> complementary therapies</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=homeopathy" title=" homeopathy"> homeopathy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=acupuncture%20analgesia" title=" acupuncture analgesia"> acupuncture analgesia</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41720/use-of-alternative-and-complementary-therapies-in-patients-with-chronic-pain-in-a-medical-institution-in-medellin-colombia-2014" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41720.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">515</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">395</span> Auditory Brainstem Response in Wave VI for the Detection of Learning Disabilities</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Isabel%20Garcia-Planas">Maria Isabel Garcia-Planas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Victoria%20Garcia-Camba"> Maria Victoria Garcia-Camba</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The use of brain stem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) is a common way to study the auditory function of people, a way to learn the functionality of a part of the brain neuronal groups that intervene in the learning process by studying the behaviour of wave VI. PP-g-IA and DCP have been used as a compatibilizer and as free radical initiators for reactive extrusion, respectively. Mechanical and morphological properties have been characterized in order to study the compatibility of the blends. The obtained results showed that DCP and PP-g-IA improved the stiffness of BioPP in terms of elastic modulus. Moreover, they positively increased the tensile strength and elongation at the break of the blends in comparison with the sample that only had BioPP and MPF in its composition, improving the affinity between both compounds. DCP and PP-g-IA even seem to have certain synergy, which was corroborated through FESEM analysis. Images showed that the MPF particles had greater adhesion to the polymer matrix when PP-g-IA and DCP were added. This effect was more intense when both elements were added, observing an almost inexistent gap between MPF particles and the BioPP matrix. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biopolyproylene" title="biopolyproylene">biopolyproylene</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compatibilization" title=" compatibilization"> compatibilization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mango%20peel%20flour" title=" mango peel flour"> mango peel flour</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wood%20plastic%20composite" title=" wood plastic composite"> wood plastic composite</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/147369/mechanical-characterization-of-mango-peel-flour-and-biopolypropylene-composites-compatibilized-with-pp-g-ia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/147369.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">101</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">393</span> Addressing Public Concerns about Radiation Impacts by Looking Back in Nuclear Accidents Worldwide</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Du%20Kim">Du Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nelson%20Baro"> Nelson Baro</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> According to a report of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), there are approximately 437 nuclear power stations are in operation in the present around the world in order to meet increasing energy demands. Indeed, nearly, a third of the world’s energy demands are met through nuclear power because it is one of the most efficient and long-lasting sources of energy. However, there are also consequences when a major event takes place at a nuclear power station. Over the past years, a few major nuclear accidents have occurred around the world. According to a report of International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES), there are six nuclear accidents that are considered to be high level (risk) of the events: Fukushima Dai-chi (Level 7), Chernobyl (Level 7), Three Mile Island (Level 5), Windscale (Level 5), Kyshtym (Level 6) and Chalk River (Level 5). Today, many people still have doubt about using nuclear power. There is growing number of people who are against nuclear power after the serious accident occurred at the Fukushima Dai-chi nuclear power plant in Japan. In other words, there are public concerns about radiation impacts which emphasize Linear-No-Threshold (LNT) Issues, Radiation Health Effects, Radiation Protection and Social Impacts. This paper will address those keywords by looking back at the history of these major nuclear accidents worldwide, based on INES. This paper concludes that all major mistake from nuclear accidents are preventable due to the fact that most of them are caused by human error. In other words, the human factor has played a huge role in the malfunction and occurrence of most of those events. The correct handle of a crisis is determined, by having a good radiation protection program in place, it’s what has a big impact on society and determines how acceptable people are of nuclear. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=linear-no-threshold%20%28LNT%29%20issues" title="linear-no-threshold (LNT) issues">linear-no-threshold (LNT) issues</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radiation%20health%20effects" title=" radiation health effects"> radiation health effects</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=radiation%20protection" title=" radiation protection"> radiation protection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=social%20impacts" title=" social impacts"> social impacts</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73843/addressing-public-concerns-about-radiation-impacts-by-looking-back-in-nuclear-accidents-worldwide" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/73843.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">243</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">392</span> Quercetin Nanoparticles and Their Hypoglycemic Effect in a CD1 Mouse Model with Type 2 Diabetes Induced by Streptozotocin and a High-Fat and High-Sugar Diet</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adriana%20Garcia-Gurrola">Adriana Garcia-Gurrola</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Carlos%20Adrian%20Pe%C3%B1a%20Natividad"> Carlos Adrian Peña Natividad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ana%20Laura%20Martinez%20Martinez"> Ana Laura Martinez Martinez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Alberto%20Abraham%20Escobar%20Puentes"> Alberto Abraham Escobar Puentes</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Estefania%20Ochoa%20Ruiz"> Estefania Ochoa Ruiz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Aracely%20Serrano%20Medina"> Aracely Serrano Medina</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abraham%20Wall%20Medrano"> Abraham Wall Medrano</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Simon%20Yobanny%20Reyes%20Lopez"> Simon Yobanny Reyes Lopez</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. Quercetin is a natural flavonoid with a hypoglycemic effect, but reported data are inconsistent due mainly to the structural instability and low solubility of quercetin. Nanoencapsulation is a distinct strategy to overcome the intrinsic limitations of quercetin. Therefore, this work aims to develop a quercetin nano-formulation based on biopolymeric starch nanoparticles to enhance the release and hypoglycemic effect of quercetin in T2DM induced mice model. Starch-quercetin nanoparticles were synthesized using high-intensity ultrasonication, and structural and colloidal properties were determined by FTIR and DLS. For in vivo studies, CD1 male mice (n=25) were divided into five groups (n=5). T2DM was induced using a high-fat and high-sugar diet for 32 weeks and streptozotocin injection. Group 1 consisted of healthy mice fed with a normal diet and water ad libitum; Group 2 were diabetic mice treated with saline solution; Group 3 were diabetic mice treated with glibenclamide; Group 4 were diabetic mice treated with empty nanoparticles; and Group 5 was diabetic mice treated with quercetin nanoparticles. Quercetin nanoparticles had a hydrodynamic size of 232 ± 88.45 nm, a PDI of 0.310 ± 0.04 and a zeta potential of -4 ± 0.85 mV. The encapsulation efficiency of nanoparticles was 58 ± 3.33 %. No significant differences (p = > 0.05) were observed in biochemical parameters (lipids, insulin, and peptide C). Groups 3 and 5 showed a similar hypoglycemic effect, but quercetin nanoparticles showed a longer-lasting effect. Histopathological studies reveal that T2DM mice groups showed degenerated and fatty liver tissue; however, a treated group with quercetin nanoparticles showed liver tissue like that of the healthy mice group. These results demonstrate that quercetin nano-formulations based on starch nanoparticles are effective alternatives with hypoglycemic effects. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quercetin" title="quercetin">quercetin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diabetes%20mellitus%20tipo%202" title=" diabetes mellitus tipo 2"> diabetes mellitus tipo 2</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=in%20vivo%20study" title=" in vivo study"> in vivo study</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanoparticles" title=" nanoparticles"> nanoparticles</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/188958/quercetin-nanoparticles-and-their-hypoglycemic-effect-in-a-cd1-mouse-model-with-type-2-diabetes-induced-by-streptozotocin-and-a-high-fat-and-high-sugar-diet" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/188958.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">34</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">391</span> Analysis of the Accuracy of Earth Movement with Drone Surveys</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ra%C3%BAl%20Pereda%20Garc%C3%ADa">Raúl Pereda García</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Julio%20Manuel%20de%20Luis%20Ruiz"> Julio Manuel de Luis Ruiz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elena%20Castillo%20L%C3%B3pez"> Elena Castillo López</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rub%C3%A9n%20P%C3%A9rez%20%C3%81lvarez"> Rubén Pérez Álvarez</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Felipe%20Pi%C3%B1a%20Garc%C3%ADa"> Felipe Piña García</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> New technologies for the capture of point clouds have experienced a great advance in recent years. In this way, its use has been extended in geomatics, providing measurement solutions that have been popularized without there being, many times, a detailed study of its accuracy. This research focuses on the study of the viability of topographic works with drones incorporating different sensors sensitive to the visible spectrum. The fundamentals have been applied to a road, located in Cantabria (Spain), where a platform extension and the reform of a riprap were being constructed. A total of six flights were made during two months, all of them with GPS as part of the photogrammetric process, and the results were contrasted with those measured with total station. The obtained results show that the choice of the camera and the planning of the flight have an important impact on the accuracy. In fact, the representations with a level of detail corresponding to 1/1000 scale are admissible, depending on the existing vegetation, and obtaining better results in the area of the riprap. This set of techniques is, therefore, suitable for the control of earthworks in road works but with certain limitations which are exposed in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=drone" title="drone">drone</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=earth%20movement%20control" title=" earth movement control"> earth movement control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20position%20system" title=" global position system"> global position system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surveying%20technology." title=" surveying technology. This methodology allows analyzing how the effect of one of the independent variables is moderated by a second independent variable by adding a cross-product term between them as an additional explanatory variable. Due to the very specification of the methodology, the moderated factor is often highly correlated with the constitutive terms. Thus, great multicollinearity problems arise. The appearance of strong multicollinearity in a model has important consequences. Inflated variances of the estimators may appear, there is a tendency to consider non-significant regressors that they probably are together with a very high coefficient of determination, incorrect signs of our coefficients may appear and also the high sensibility of the results to small changes in the dataset. Finally, the high relationship among explanatory variables implies difficulties in fixing the individual effects of each one on the model under study. These consequences shifted to the moderated analysis may imply that it is not worth including an interaction term that may be distorting the model. Thus, it is important to manage the problem with some methodology that allows for obtaining reliable results. After a review of those works that applied the MRA among the ten top journals of the field, it is clear that multicollinearity is mostly disregarded. Less than 15% of the reviewed works take into account potential multicollinearity problems. To overcome the issue, this work studies the possible application of recent methodologies to MRA. Particularly, the raised regression is analyzed. This methodology mitigates collinearity from a geometrical point of view: the collinearity problem arises because the variables under study are very close geometrically, so by separating both variables, the problem can be mitigated. Raise regression maintains the available information and modifies the problematic variables instead of deleting variables, for example. Furthermore, the global characteristics of the initial model are also maintained (sum of squared residuals, estimated variance, coefficient of determination, global significance test and prediction). The proposal is implemented to data from countries of the European Union during the last year available regarding greenhouse gas emissions, per capita GDP and a dummy variable that represents the topography of the country. The use of a dummy variable as the moderator is a special variant of MRA, sometimes called “subgroup regression analysis.” The main conclusion of this work is that applying new techniques to the field can improve in a substantial way the results of the analysis. Particularly, the use of raised regression mitigates great multicollinearity problems, so the researcher is able to rely on the interaction term when interpreting the results of a particular study. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multicollinearity" title="multicollinearity">multicollinearity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MRA" title=" MRA"> MRA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interaction" title=" interaction"> interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=raise" title=" raise"> raise</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160117/multicollinearity-and-mra-in-sustainability-application-of-the-raise-regression" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160117.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">104</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">389</span> A Posteriori Analysis of the Spectral Element Discretization of Heat Equation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chor%20Nejmeddine">Chor Nejmeddine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ines%20Ben%20Omrane"> Ines Ben Omrane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Abdelwahed"> Mohamed Abdelwahed</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, we present a posteriori analysis of the discretization of the heat equation by spectral element method. In this sense, the classic 3D models are being applied to investigate the direction towards which the generally subterranean structures of an archaeological site may continue and therefore, to help in making the decisions that define the location of new excavations. In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been applied as the vehicles that carry the sensor. This implies certain advantages, such as the possibility of including low-cost sensors, given that these vehicles can carry the sensor at relatively low altitudes. Due to this, low-cost dual sensors have recently begun to be used. This new equipment can collaborate with classic Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in the exploration of archaeological sites, but this entails the need for a methodological setting to optimise the acquisition, processing and exploitation of the information provided by low-cost dual sensors. This research focuses on the design of an appropriate workflow to obtain 3D models with low-cost sensors carried on UAVs, both in the RGB and thermal domains. All the foregoing has been applied to the archaeological site of Juliobriga, located in Cantabria (Spain). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=process%20optimization" title="process optimization">process optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RGB%20models" title=" RGB models"> RGB models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermal%20models" title=" thermal models"> thermal models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=" title=" "> </a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=UAV" title=" UAV"> UAV</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=workflow" title=" workflow"> workflow</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137056/generation-of-3d-models-obtained-with-low-cost-rgb-and-thermal-sensors-mounted-on-drones" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/137056.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">387</span> Pervious Concrete for Road Intersection Drainage</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ivana%20Bari%C5%A1i%C4%87">Ivana Barišić</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ivanka%20Netinger%20Grube%C5%A1a"> Ivanka Netinger Grubeša</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ines%20Barjaktari%C4%87"> Ines Barjaktarić</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Road performance and traffic safety are highly influenced by improper water drainage system performance, particularly within intersection areas. Several methods or interventions are being applied in order to relieve anxiety. Laughter yoga, however, is a method that has been used to relieve anxiety but has not yet been tested to pre-operative patients. Therefore, this study determined the effectiveness of laughter yoga in reducing anxiety among pre-operative middle-aged patients scheduled for major surgery. Methods: After Ethics Review Board approval, a quasi-experimental study was conducted among 40 purposely-selected pre-operative patients in two tertiary hospitals. Anxiety level was measured prior to administration of laughter yoga using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory with a Cronbach alpha of 0.83. After Laughter yoga, anxiety level was then measured again. Gathered data were analyzed in SPSS version 20 using paired and independent t-test and ANCOVA. Results: After analysis of the data gathered, the results showed that there was a significant decrease in the anxiety level of patients in the experimental group. From an anxiety level of 44.00, the rating went down to 36.85. Meanwhile in the control group, the anxiety level at the pretest at 41.25 went up to 42.50. Laughter yoga was an effective non-pharmacologic intervention for reducing anxiety of pre-operative patients. Conclusion: It is therefore concluded that laughter yoga causes a significant decrease in the anxiety level of patients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anxiety" title="anxiety">anxiety</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laughter%20yoga" title=" laughter yoga"> laughter yoga</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-pharmacologic" title=" non-pharmacologic"> non-pharmacologic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pre-operative" title=" pre-operative"> pre-operative</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45851/effectiveness-of-laughter-yoga-in-reducing-anxiety-among-pre-operative-patients-for-scheduled-major-surgery" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45851.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">442</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">385</span> The Menu Planning Problem: A Systematic Literature Review</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dorra%20Kallel">Dorra Kallel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ines%20%20Kanoun"> Ines Kanoun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diala%20%20Dhouib"> Diala Dhouib</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper elaborates a Systematic Literature Review SLR) to select the most outstanding studies that address the Menu Planning Problem (MPP) and to classify them according to the to the three following criteria: the used methods, types of patients and the required constraints. Maintaining the loyalty of existing customers constitutes one key strategy that yields the best results. Although the relationship between consumers' self-congruity and their manifestations of loyalty towards a store has been investigated, the role of store personality in this relationship remains unclear. In this study, multiple parallel mediation analysis was used to examine the effect of Store Personality on the relationship between Self-Congruity of consumers and their Manifestations of Loyalty. For this purpose, 457 Spanish consumers of the Fnac store completed three self-report questionnaires assessing Store Personality, Self-Congruity, and Store Loyalty. The data were analyzed using the SPSS macro PROCESS. The results revealed that three dimensions of Store Personality, namely Exciting, Close and Competent Store, positively and significantly mediated the relationship between Self-Congruity and Manifestations of Loyalty. The indirect effect of Competent Store was the greatest. This means that a consumer with higher levels of Self-Congruity with the store will exhibit more Manifestations of Loyalty when the store is perceived as Exciting, Close or Competent. These findings suggest that more attention should be paid to the perceived personality of stores for the development of effective marketing strategies to maintain or increase consumers' manifestations of loyalty towards stores. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiple%20parallel%20mediation" title="multiple parallel mediation">multiple parallel mediation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PROCESS" title=" PROCESS"> PROCESS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=self-congruence" title=" self-congruence"> self-congruence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=store%20loyalty" title=" store loyalty"> store loyalty</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=store%20personality" title=" store personality"> store personality</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145520/the-mediating-role-of-store-personality-in-the-relationship-between-self-congruity-and-manifestations-of-loyalty" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145520.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">158</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">383</span> A new genus and species of Agriotina Laporte, 1840 (Coleoptera: Elateridae: Agriotini) from Colombia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Martin%20L.%20Zurita%20Garc%C3%ADa">Martin L. There are listed 43 genera for Colombia but without a specific number of their species. No species of the genus Agriotes Eschscholtz (Elaterinae: Agriotini) have been recorded in Colombia. Currently, the subtribe Agriotina in the New World includes three genera: Agriotes, Bohartina Arias and Dalopius Eschscholtz. Historically, the genera Agriotes and Dalopius have had significant taxonomic problems due to their morphological resemblance. These similarities motivated several specialists to generate taxonomic movements such as synonyms and segregations of species in these genera on several occasions. To trying to solve these taxonomic problems, an author proposes some morphological characters present in the larvae, but mainly some genital characters of the females, such as the sclerotized plates of the bursa copulatrix. After examining material newly collected in Colombia, we found a click beetle having a unique combination of diagnostic characters that clearly separate it from any other genera of Agriotina. Hence, we describe and illustrate this click beetle under the name Raphaellus deusminutosi Zurita-García, Morales-Perdomo & Martínez-Luque n. gen. & n. sp., and we also compare this genus with the other New World genera of the subtribes Agriotina. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=click%20beetles" title="click beetles">click beetles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20genus" title=" new genus"> new genus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=new%20species" title=" new species"> new species</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=elaterinae" title=" elaterinae"> elaterinae</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=raphaellus%20deusminutosi" title=" raphaellus deusminutosi"> raphaellus deusminutosi</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/175772/a-new-genus-and-species-of-agriotina-laporte-1840-coleoptera-elateridae-agriotini-from-colombia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/175772.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">84</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">382</span> The Latency-Amplitude Binomial of Waves Resulting from the Application of Evoked Potentials for the Diagnosis of Dyscalculia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Isabel%20Garcia-Planas">Maria Isabel Garcia-Planas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maria%20Victoria%20Garcia-Camba"> Maria Victoria Garcia-Camba</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Recent advances in cognitive neuroscience have allowed a step forward in perceiving the processes involved in learning from the point of view of the acquisition of new information or the modification of existing mental content. The evoked potentials technique reveals how basic brain processes interact to achieve adequate and flexible behaviours. The objective of this work, using evoked potentials, is to study if it is possible to distinguish if a patient suffers a specific type of learning disorder to decide the possible therapies to follow. The methodology used, is the analysis of the dynamics of different areas of the brain during a cognitive activity to find the relationships between the different areas analyzed in order to better understand the functioning of neural networks. Also, the latest advances in neuroscience have revealed the existence of different brain activity in the learning process that can be highlighted through the use of non-invasive, innocuous, low-cost and easy-access techniques such as, among others, the evoked potentials that can help to detect early possible neuro-developmental difficulties for their subsequent assessment and cure. From the study of the amplitudes and latencies of the evoked potentials, it is possible to detect brain alterations in the learning process specifically in dyscalculia, to achieve specific corrective measures for the application of personalized psycho pedagogical plans that allow obtaining an optimal integral development of the affected people. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dyscalculia" title="dyscalculia">dyscalculia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neurodevelopment" title=" neurodevelopment"> neurodevelopment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=evoked%20potentials" title=" evoked potentials"> evoked potentials</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Learning%20disabilities" title=" Learning disabilities"> Learning disabilities</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neural%20networks" title=" neural networks"> neural networks</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133533/the-latency-amplitude-binomial-of-waves-resulting-from-the-application-of-evoked-potentials-for-the-diagnosis-of-dyscalculia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133533.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">140</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">381</span> The Impact of Trading Switch on Price and Liquidity</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bel%20Abed%20Ines%20Mariem">Bel Abed Ines Mariem</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Different stock markets keep changing their exchange structure for the only purpose of improving the functioning of their markets. These activities, including stores, telephone long distance and local raw materials and energy, and particularly the financial sector, have managed to significantly increase its weight in the flows of FDI in Mexico , however, you should consider whether these trends FDI are positive for the Mexican economy and these activities increase Mexican exports in the medium term , and its share in GDP , gross fixed capital formation and employment. In general stresses that these activities, by far, have been unable to significantly generate linkages with the rest of the economy, a process that has not favored with competitiveness policies and activities aimed at these neutral or horizontal. Since the nineties foreign direct investment (FDI) has shown a remarkable dynamism, both internationally and in Latin America and in Mexico. Only in Mexico the first recipient of FDI in importance in Latin America during 1990-1995 and was displaced by Brazil since FDI increased from levels below 1 % of GDP during the eighties to around 3 % of GDP during the nineties. Its impact has been significant not only from a macroeconomic perspective , it has also allowed the generation of a new industrial production structure and organization, parallel to a significant modernization of a segment of the economy. The case of Mexico also is particularly interesting and relevant because the destination of FDI until 1993 had focused on the purchase of state assets during privatization process. This paper aims to present FDI flows in Mexico and analyze the different business strategies that have been touched and encouraged by the FDI. On the one hand, looking briefly discuss regulatory issues and source and recipient of FDI sectors. Furthermore, the paper presents in more detail the impacts and changes that generated the FDI contribution of FDI in the Mexican economy , besides the macroeconomic context and later legislative changes that resulted in the current regulations is examined around FDI in Mexico, including aspects of the Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). It is worth noting that foreign investment can not only be considered from the perspective of the receiving economic units. Instead, these flows also reflect the strategic interests of transnational corporations (TNCs) and other companies seeking access to markets and increased competitiveness of their production networks and global distribution, among other reasons. Similarly it is important to note that foreign investment in its various forms is critically dependent on historical and temporal aspects. Thus, the same functionality can vary significantly depending on the specific characteristics of both receptor units as sources of FDI, including macroeconomic, institutional, industrial organization, and social aspects, among others. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=foreign%20direct%20investment%20%28FDI%29" title="foreign
