CLIL lecture was given in the chemistry class of the first-year students in the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Ube College. Students could explain the theme to others verbally and writing. We found a certain improvement in vocabulary and English writing after taking the CLIL lecture by the analysis of questionnaire and report. Moreover, we observed students′ activities by the quantitative content analysis. As the results, English description with respect to chemical details improved gradually after taking CLIL lecture. id="non-sticky-content-leftsection"> <div id="article-overiew-abstract-wrap">  <div class="section-title-18">Abstract</div> <p class="global-para-14"> In this study, CLIL lecture was designed to create English interaction in the common science class of engineering education. CLIL lecture was given in the chemistry class of the first-year students in the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Ube College. Students could explain the theme to others verbally and writing. We found a certain improvement in vocabulary and English writing after taking the CLIL lecture by the analysis of questionnaire and report. Moreover, we observed students′ activities by the quantitative content analysis. As the results, English description with respect to chemical details improved gradually after taking CLIL lecture.
