class="cite-bracket">&#93;</span></a></sup> Although "Javanized" by Mataram’s political expansion, the <a href="/wiki/Sundanese_people" title="Sundanese people">Sundanese</a>-speaking western part of Java, the <a href="/wiki/Eastern_salient_of_Java" title="Eastern salient of Java">easternmost parts of Java</a>, and the nearby island of <a href="/wiki/Madura" title="Madura">Madura</a> retain
