China. Postdoctoral training was in Department of Pathology at University of Western Ontario in 1993, and Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, McGill University in 1995, Canada. He is currently a tenured Professor, Departments of Pediatrics, Radiation Oncology and Pharmacology and Toxicology, Director of Kosair Children's Hospital Research Institute, the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and also Visiting Professor, Jilin University and Wenzhou Medical University. Lu Cai's research interests include radiation biology and toxicology, for which he has contributed more than 75 peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals including Mutation Res, Radiation Res, Toxicological Sciences, Experimental Hematology, and J Biol Chem.
